    • @ChewonVegan
      @ChewonVegan  Год назад

      Yes, I did mention it in the video that you can make it in the oven. It would not be considered raw anymore. Anything cooked over 118 degrees is not considered raw. Lowest temp my oven goes to is 170 degrees. So yes you can make it in the oven. Not sure how long it should bake. Maybe 3 hours, flip and score it and the then another 3 hours. This is just a guess you may have to experiment a bit.

    Hi! I am curious about the higher overt fats, I know dr. Goldners perspective is that the omega 3 fats from flax will not cause weight gain. Has this been your experience as well?
    If so, do you need to be low carb in order for this to be true?

    • @ChewonVegan
      @ChewonVegan  Год назад

      Technically no because I used blanched almond flour. It is high in fat but it is a healthy fat. The bread makes about 8 slices which I cut in half for my sandwich. There is actually 16 servings per recipe. The amount of fat spread over 16 servings it's not that much.

      The short answer is yes. I did mention in the video that you could make it in the oven. But it will not be considered "raw" Anything cooked over 118 degrees is not considered raw. I would guess to set oven to the lowest setting and bake for 3 hours flip and score it and go for another 3 hours. You will have to experiment with the cooking time.

    How can this be low calorie? Isn't almond flour 170 calories for a 1/4 cup? That would be 1,360 for the 2 cups and then 1,120 for the 2 cups of flax meal. If I did the math right and for the 8 pieces you cut, that would be 310 calories for each piece of bread, so 620 calories for two pieces to make a sandwich and that's just for the dry ingredients. I'm sure it tastes delicious, but holy cow, that is a LOT of calories. Please tell me how you came up with lower calories?

    • @ChewonVegan
      @ChewonVegan  Год назад +1

      2 cups of almond flour is about 1296 calories and 2 cups almond flour is 1068 calories=2364. divide that by 8 you get 295.5 calories for each slice. I usually only eat half of that sandwich with a bunch of non starchy veggies. This bread is so dense that 1/2 a sandwich is plenty. I save the other half for the next day. So even with the avocado it's is still fairly low in calories. Plus the fiber you get is amazing. Perhaps it looked like I would eat both halves in the video but it looks more appealing to see the two halves on the plate so it is more for the visual for the video and the thumbnail photo. The opposite is also true. There are times I make a plate of food that doesn't look like a lot but I will eat 2 helpings off camera. I hope that clears it up. I will try to be more clear on portion sizes in the future as to not confuse my audience. Thanks for your question and thanks for watching.
