    I never comment on these but you've done such a good job. Valid method of testing. Keep up the excellent work.

    From the test it looks like tghe speed difference between the K1 and the 540 are minimal. This should indicate that a beginning surfski paddler should choose the more stable 540. Am I right?

    That stable looking Viper quite fast for the low number of Watts being employed, brilliant stats display btw.

    Great vid. Thanks for sharing your results. I have the same question about power - how did you measure that?

    What paddle lengths were you both at? Blade size? Nice comparison

    Thanks for a great comparison test ! I'm getting a 540L. My question is: Are these the latest Nelo design with the new rocker line ?

    Thank you for the video. Could you share with us which bucket you find most comfortable and spacious? I got bruises on my hip bones in the 510. In my epic V10L I get bruises on the back. Which Nelo would you recommend for someone with a wider hip/ back?

    • @kayaksight
      @kayaksight Год назад

      They should have made the bucket on the 510 a little deeper/wider... I had the same problem as you did, then placed a seat pad (like the mocke brand sells, just made my own from a fitness mat), that fixed my issue but then rotation suffered :/ So I am keeping the 510 for travels etc. where I would not take the more expensive boats. Try and make a pad from hard EVA foam and it should help with the hip bone problem at least. Great glide on that plastic thing!

    @dietzpaddling How do you measure your power output? OneGiantLeap?

    Would have been great to see you test the old design 550 vs the new one to get some context on the velocity's you got. How do you measure power ? Is it the paddle itself ?

    How many runs did you do for each boat and what was the error of the testing protocol ?

    Nelo claim the 550 is closer to the 560 in speed. Your data shows the 550 very close to the 540. I note the 550 runs are not featured in your excellent video. Was the 550 actually tested on this occasion or was this speed estimated. I have a 540 and am waiting for a 550 given the much narrower profile of the 550 I would have expected it to be faster.
    Thank you

      Hi Damocles, have you gotten the 550 already and how do you compare the 550 with the 540 qua balance and speed wise (on rough water)?

    • @willw1015
      @willw1015 2 года назад +2

      @@more8116 Its 250 to 350metres quicker over 10 km on the flat which is 2-3 mins depending on how many pies I ate the previous evening.
      Slightly less stable on rough water
      but I have also moved from WWR build 540 to SCS 550 this makes a noticable difference in acceleration
      my 540 came in at 13.5kg WWR
      The SCS 550 is 10.9 kg
      I feel the lower gunwhales on the 550 will help remounts although its a wetter ride.
      Hope this helps.
      If stability is an issue invest in a big DK rudder makes an appreciable difference.
      The 550 is a pleasure to paddle

    I notice a pronounced "bow wave/spurt" on the 510 compardd to the others. Is this due to a different design, wider bow? For next season I'm thinking of upgrading from 510 to 540 ML.
