In well over a decade of following kpop I can't think of another moment that moved me that much emotionally. I'll never forget how nervous, excited and proud Taeyeon was in a countdown stream before the release. She went through a truly terrible time for about a year before that, it was her phoenix moment and it was so big for her, she finally got enough love to overpower all the hate she'd been receiving at the time. I bought my first CD in 10 years that day. I'm sick of the song by now but I still feel an overwhelming wave of affection every time I spot that pink spine with a letter "I" on my shelf.

she actually did solo sing a heavy rock song (the only one she ever did) during one of her group, Girls' Generation, concerts. It's called Devil's Cry and it was only sung in live concert. Definitely worth to check that out.
„I“ has in multiple ways a special meaning and uses certain symbolisms (butterfly, her meeting herself, going her own way - I guess others can explain it a bit more detailed) in the video. The song is usually in her concerts and sometimes the whole crowd sings along even without any music played.

For me, very suddenly, 'PERFECTION!' had a face and a voice (previously it had been just a nebulous thought). When Taeyeon did her Killing Voice performance of this song, she did only the last verse so of course that tiny clip/ mini-performance of the cut-up song left out SO MUCH. It was a micro-sample, really. Just like all the other songs in that performance.
The instrumental break was actually special for the MV, to make a fuller storyline, but it's not on the official album version; However, they included the instrumenral as a an extra track in the album. For UR I think it's best to watch a fancam from one of her first concerts, maybe the one by 'flying petals' is best. Flawless vocals. Many great live stages of I, I think I'd probably recommend the one from MAMA awards, cause of the visuals ;)
