    Hans Landa realized at this point the Germans were going to lose the war eventually and decided to just save himself in return for a fast end to the war.

    16:05 The man wearing the black uniform isn't a soldier. The uniforms worn by the good guys in this scene aren't the uniforms of the German army as well. They are the SS Gestapo. There were differences between the German Army(Wehrmacht) and the SS. Simply, the SS was a private organization of the ruling N@zi party, and Wehrmacht was the German national army. SS had both paramilitary and detective branches, and they were the strict followers and protectors of National Socialism. Most of the atrocities - the holocaust, racial profiling, and brutally suppressing other political parties were committed by the SS during the war.

    I like Tarantinos movies they are very entertaining. This one is like a well done comic book, very much caricatures of human beings and the vengeance theme that is so common in his movies. Everything is black and white, good and bad no deeper feelings here no nuances. It's like a kids fantasy, i myself had these kind of fantasies and daydreams when i was very young. You know like killing all the bad people on earth and be a hero and so on. Well anyway it is entertaining and simple. Your reactions is always great,

    Probably not a good rec for the channel, but something you both were asking about was how people like Nazis could even expect to be loved. Check out the movie "The Zone of Interest" from last year. Its a very depressing and cold look at how life was like for the family of the man who commanded the Auschwitz death camp. Long story short, the women supporting Nazi men were aware of what was happening and supported it for their benefit. That veneer of social performance, loving wives and seen-but-not-heard children helped normalize genocide. Fascism starts in the home, dont let your loved ones hate!

    In this masterpiece by Tarantino, the sad scenes alternate with the sarcastically funny ones.
    Of course, QT once again delivers brutality in epic images.
    But I still don't understand why you two (especially the lady on the left in the pink shirt) start laughing so hard at really extreme scenes (in the sense of sad or brutal). 😲
    Fantastic movie, sensational actors.

    "Ahhh, I might get chewed out a little, but I'm used to getting chewed out."
    Understanding Hitler's mind isn't hard. He was an opportunist preying on people fears and their anger to the economic situation. He got Germans to believe that all of their economic woes were because of Jews, Gypsies and Homosexuals. He went on to dismantle much of the progress of the Social Democrates that came before him, persecuting them and throwing them in prison.
    Does that sound like someone you know?

    IMHO Hans Landa knew who Shoshana really was. He was a fantastic detective and would have sniffed her out but I believe that he chose not to because he already was on the fence at that point. In the end, he was only interested in saving his own backside.

      Of course he recognized her. He just likes to mentally torture people (see the opening scene) and that's what he does with her. There is no gain for him to arrest her now. So he just plays with her and spreads fear and terror. That's what's fun to him.

    Mr White from reservoir dogs is on the phone call! Samuel Jackson narrates in a few places! Austin Powers is Churchill's assistant! The bear jew, Eli Roth, is also from death proof, and Dominic DiCoco! Eli Roth is also a great horror director and directed the movie, Clown! Landa during the lunch cafe scene, thought he recognized her but wasn't sure, or to see if she was Jewish. So everything he gave her to eat or drink, was non kosher, to see if she would have a reaction! The British officer was Stadios, in 300! There was a 70s fantasy WW2 movie called, Inglorious Basterds! Tarrantino and the producers thought they wouldn't be able to make this movie because, they had interviewed many actors for the Landa part, but no one was fluent in German French English and Italian. And then cristoph waltz came and interviewed for the part. After he was done tarrantino turned to his producer and said, We've got a movie!

    the soldier nazi hero who starred in his own movie-bio wasn't a bad person. he wasn't a wife-beater type. when he saw his exploits on screen it reminded him of all the death and slaughter of that day. REAL SOLDIERS aren't proud of the people they killed. they're doing a job, what they were trained to do in service of their country but they, TOO, are human and no more proud of their actions than i'd be. the memories of the horrors of war they lived through affects them horribly. many suffer for the rest of their lives whether they're on the winning side or not. thanks for the video.

    • @TheSwordOfTheJedi-u2p
      @TheSwordOfTheJedi-u2p 4 месяца назад +4

      She's not a trained spy, she's an actress who might have had a little bit of ancillary training in spy craft. She got shot in the leg, was in significant amounts of pain and was extracted, maybe her shoe wasn't the foremost thought in her mind. The bar was full of dead Nazis', after a very loud shootout... again, getting out before the place was swarming with the enemy was the priority. Finally, it's a movie, it doesn't take itself serious, and neither should you.
      "this was ABSOLUTELY the WORST, laziest piece of writing in film history!!!" Is a wild thing to say.
