I noticed the two issues you have mentioned before (real-time danger tracking / reloading on movement bug) at: 2:01 The reload animation played while the Elite was moving but then he fired few shots and stop to reload which means IT'S BROKEN. The simple solution is just to make sure every schedule breaks on COND_NO_AMMO, but then they will never reload on the move. The hard solution is to implement reload while on movement behavior when facing melee NPCs so they can reload while falling back from Necrotics. 2:04 The AI couldn't track where the danger is coming from at real time and act dynamically, that's why the Elite ran to the wrong direction.

Excellent, we don't have to worry about hitting allies since we are more careful now, great job. The soldiers performed admirably, and provided to be capable of handling hard situations like outbreak, especially those two soldiers at the end (Elite and Nova Prospekt) who did nailed the last stand.
Those upgrades will shine perfectly in maps like Nova Prospekt or even mods like Minerva where spaces designed well for flanking routes and solid covers.
It seems that I'm not the only Combine in the comment section. Anyway incredible tweaks you did there (that last stand was epic), once you're done improving the AI I will test it in vanilla then add it to my MMod.

Make sure to save vanilla files for backup in case you want to bring back vanilla gameplay !!! I am ok now, thanks for replies. I am actually tired of AI tweaking. Most of the time it's just trying to figure out how do these systems work than actual coding and while I'm coding, I'm stressing about why some things just don't work despite not giving any errors. I could work with Visiual studio for 10 hours straight with Hammer editor and OBS studio running in the background, loading up the map to see if changes took effect. I do coding when I have the inspiration and will to do it. Now this hobby draws some limited attention I do feel guilty for not uploading any new videos. Hope that makes sense
No, in fact you need to stop pressuring yourself for a while and do things you enjoy like Dishonored or maybe some TF2 gameplay you know, whatever you like to do, after all you're no machine designed to complete tasks.

In your mod Elites use energy orbs twice as often on extreme difficulty + MMod where AR2 soldiers can use energy orbs makes it a lot more menacing and effective since they will use them effectively and will exterminate targets immediately.
Combine soldier accuracy are depend on their weapon SMG soldier : 😢 Shotgun soldier : 😏 AR2 soldier : 😎 Elite Soldier : 😈 (Elite soldier have better accuracy than regular soldier) (Shotgun soldier will try to get close to their target)
Can you edit NPC's OSIPR/AR2 reloading sound to the player's since it's awesome and fits perfectly with the soldiers reloading animation while the regular sound is kinda ridicules and doesn't fit the advanced OSIPR.
How did you allow Elite unit to use their dark orbs against NPCs like Necrotics, I don't remember them using it in the main game which is disappointing.

I had no idea the headcrabs themselves were smarter. At 2:50, the two Poison Headcrabs hide when they are being shot from a fair distance.

Can't wait to try this mod, it's much better than Badass Combine mod.
What I have noticed is Elites stay behind cus generally they have better accuracy unless improved AI mod changes it.
They stand behind since they've long engagement range and they're the leaders so they'll have to try to stay alive as much as possible.

You definitely haven't seen how vanilla hl2 or Garry's mod plays out in such scenario in a while
