Thanks so much for the great explanation! I totally agree that it's a no-brainer to put this in while you have the chance. The RV-8's aerobatic capabilites are a big part of what makes it my dream plane to own, so this information is definitely getting stored away for later use.
If anyone is wondering, it only takes a few hours to convert an already built tank over to use flop tubes. It is obviously way easier during the build, however it isn't impossible once the tanks are sealed up and complete.
Thanks for the feedback! I’d hate to make those modifications one the tank is all buttoned up. But I can see how someone who has really thought through the work and has their ducks in a row can knock it out in a few hours after the tank has been removed.
