    My favourite overtaking manoeuvre ever was at Little Rissington. I braked a little early, cut to the inside in order to get on the power early and be facing out on a better angle (you need both). Then, you can easily pass on the inside. I explained to my friend exactly how to do it. I came up behind him in the dog leg. He did it perfectly, passing 2 karts. Then, I got him too!

    With all the respect, most of these overtakes are on people that not more than your average tourist in a go-kart. For example, the outside overtake at 2:25 only works because the person in kart number 14 is terribly slow. Person drives the inside line while not even defending, early braking, still misses the apex and not even full throttle on the next straight. The speed difference coming out of the hairpin is mostly because someone is in a go-kart for the 2nd time in their life.

    • @abe4767
      @abe4767 2 месяца назад

      Yeah i agree, they will defend the position with their lives, parking on the apex... Its near imposible to make overs in a narrow track with drivers that dont leave any space for overtake regarles of how speed are you going

    Great intro, thanks! My 3 year old son loves F1, so I take him to the go kart track at the beach where I live, where they have 2 seat karts. No one is a real driver (including me) or follows the racing line (as I never did as a kid), so simply by watching F1 I started to be quicker than anyone. But overtaking is very hard on the track as it’s narrow. So thanks! I just hope I’m not a Jos Verstappen waiting to happen. My kid stands up on the car when we stop and pretends to be Alonso winning a race.

Classic block pass. It works well on L-R or R-L corners.Your exit is slow but you got the line for the next corner.

    Those aggressive inside overtakes in the "Indoor" chapter are risky though, right? Because the driver on the outside could turn in, sticking you to the wall, maybe causing both of you to stick together or spin, etc?

  • @poisonedtruth
    @poisonedtruth 2 года назад +2

    Most of your overtaking is elbows out approach. Which is effective till you do it to someone like yourself or worse someone that doesn’t care. I like how you keep saying this guy isn’t on the racing line while you aren’t on the racing line. I want to see a video on an indoor track with someone on the racing line and driving defensive. Also couldn’t tell looked like one of the places had electric carts which I think are the least competitive carts in existence. A lot of them have speed adjustments so they can turn you up or down on power while racing. The regulars normally start at full power and new racers start at low. Gas carts some are faster some are slower and if you go to a place enough you figure out which one is fastest. They are all still much closer than electrics. I guess my point is just watched another video where a guy punched a hole by ramming through with his cart (elbows out) and all I could think was wow this guy is way nice than me it’s really not hard to spin someone into the barrier. Race clean normally you get clean racing race dirty it goes great till you find a fuck around and find out person.
