The fact that the majority listening to this is reminiscing on old Spongebob is kinda depressing. I reminisce of old Hawaiʻi and family gatherings, the stories of my great grandfather singing some of these very songs as he toured as a musician, I think of sandy beaches and land before they were bought to build hotels for the tourist industry, I think of the freedom we once had in my town to ride our horses to work before we no longer could cause the police would get called to come to rile up "those crazy rebel Hawaiians". Among other things, I think of how I miss how this music took me back to days that listening to it felt like warmth, it reminded me of my grandfather's hugs and my ancestor's loving smiles. I miss when things weren't taken away from us for gain and profit. Such as the essence of this music....cause now along with my papa, nana, and my ancestor's faces, my mind is tainted with the image of a fricken pineapple under the sea.
@@yogieyo9935 You missed the point. This music you're listening to isnʻt Hawaiian music. What people are "admiring" is a white washed, touristy attraction, cartoonesque jingle that cheaply trys to steal the essence of a specific era of music in Hawaiʻi. So no. Not thankful of people taking and profiting and misrepresenting. So unless you can relate so anything I'm saying, unless you have any understanding of what its like, and unless you have a more valid, educated point you wanna make instead of trying to attack how I love my family 😂 maybe donʻt comment on something you know not of.
I can't blame you for having resentment towards the elite government officials who took over Hawaii, nor for having resentment towards arrogant, rich tourists who don't have any respect for the true culture of Hawaii, but please try to hold back any resentment for those who simply reminisce about Spongebob while listening to this music. What you must try to understand is that, whether these Spongebob fans are smart enough to realize it or not (and I'd say at least a somewhat decent portion does in fact realize it), what they're actually reminiscing about isn't just the show itself, but rather the nostalgic memories that relate to the show: the memories of their childhoods. This particular type of music, regardless of whether you want to call it Hawaiian music, a specific era of Hawaiian music, or a cheap knockoff of true Hawaiian music, does a very good job of bringing out feelings of nostalgia in people, and I'd say that's because of the simplistic yet free flowing nature of its sound, which is also the very naure of youth that people miss when they age. What you feel when you listen to this music is the same type of nostalgia that all these Spongebob fans feel (at least the ones about my age), whether they realize it or not. My younger years may not have consisted of riding horses to and fro and getting to listen to concerts on beautiful beaches with family, but it did have just as much love and freedom and relaxation in other ways. Spongebob for me just so happens to be one of those other ways, and although I admit that it doesn't sound as great as your memories, how would I have known any better when I was that young? I agree that it's sad that almost no one nowadays can experience the wonderful life you had growing up, but considering just how bad the political landscape of the world is nowadays, the truth is that not many people will get to experience as good of a life as I had growing up either, and my childhood was probably pale in comparison to yours. The people who run this world are more evil and greedy than most people imagine, and in the ways that they've ruined Hawaii, they've also ruined most of the United States, and even the whole world to some extent. You're not wrong that Spongebob only exists as a result of this disgusting takeover of freedom and cultural beauty, but please understand that the average Spongebob fan isn't going to think of that when they hear this music, because to them, the feelings of nostalgia speak a lot louder to the needs of the human soul.

The first thing I do after leaving the Airport heading to Waikiki is to find a local channel playing traditional Island music and it doesn't go off until I'm back at the airport leaving. Planning a 2022 visit to my old stomping ground of Waikiki, with Hawaiian shirts, beach towels, local food, hiking down to Queens beach, back up to diamond head and eating pupas at Duke Kahanamokos. All you freaks with Led Zepellin T shirts stay out of my way, I'm Waikiki Hawaiiane culture all the way for a week and it must be saved. Don Ho you are missed. Coconut hats, surfboards, sand, flower leis, suntan lotion, luau, hula girls, plate lunch all da kine. Bring it on! Retro Waikiki now!

I would like to go to Hawaii at once. Thank you very much.
Wonderful, wonderful sounds of Hawaii!! I can smell the orchids, hear the waves lapping onshore, and feel tropical breezes gently blowing through the coconut palms as I drift away with this music Aloha and mahalo for posting this gem.
I wonder if anyone who has opened this post was in Waikiki in the late 60's? There was a lose group of us who formed a group call the Greeks. We had T-Shirts that read "Greeks 67 Hawaii". It was a great time to be young in body and soul.
I have had this vinyl album since before 1965 and still play it. My favorite of Hawai'ian instrumental albums. Great memories of Hawai'i when I lived there.
you are Probably aware of the Volcano Disaster that destroyed thousands of homes and also made people homeless : But did you Know what they {America}were doing and are doing with the People of Hawaii !! It's as well that you were there only a few Months ago; Please May I Just say that this Peaceful Island has turned into a Blood bath; If you go onto RUclips and Type F E M A Death Barges Hawaii you will see what I Mean ! But where I shall start is that when the Volcano had Destroyed the Homes of thousands of displaced People F E M A offered them shelter at one of their Bases; The Problem when they got there they were forced at gunpoint to Hand in their Mobile Phones ! It then that they they did one of two things; they were Shot at Point blank or they were Guillotined ; Then at 3:33 in the Morning the F E M A Team went to the Places such as the Village Halls or they were taken from Civic Centres at Gun Point and Put into what I call Cattle trucks and then taken to the Coastline and then Forced into on to the Barges and then put into Either Shipping Containers or into Prison Barges; Some were to be Gassed out to sea and some were Thrown overboard alive for them to have Target Practice upon and also for the sharks to eat; Some Shipping Containers were to have the Doors spot welded and then the people within them were to be Dropped into the Ocean; A Trawler that was A Few hundred Yards away Spotted the Barge dispose of the Containers He took Video Pictures of the whole incidents; Some weeks later Divers went down and saw Hundred or so Containers of which all except one Metal container was shut up where the Door came open just a little; the divers saw Body Parts of which was cut up ; and of course America said that it was conspiracy . Tell that to those fifty or so Bodies washed up on the Beach of Hawaii; Perhaps Now that I Have told you these things Perhaps you Might pass this information to Friends

This beautiful Hawaiian music is so relaxing and really helps me stay in a positive mood when I look out the window and see 15" of snow on the ground. It helps me dream of warm comfortable weather and charming scenes of nature. Thanks for sharing this very special music. It is an oasis of tranquility and serenity which comforts my spirit. Thanks, Jerry.
This genre is the perfect blend of vintage jazz, a bit of vintage surf rock, and of course cultural Hawaiian melodic style! The music here is so uniquely amazing. It’s peaceful, with such an unconventional songwriting style compared to the American “mainland” music of the day. 👍
Just beautiful and so soothing. Makes me wish I were back in Honolulu. How pleasant to dream back to 65-66. Fondest ALOHA To Roosevelt ROUGH RIDERS class of "66" 🏄♂️. WOW just now listing to (Pearly Shells).
Reminds me of my dad and the 60s in general and Tiki mania. Clifton’s in L.A. my dad was at Pearl Harbor in 1941, his ship was in dry dock, but was hit, and he saw his sister ship, the Arizona, go up. He was a Bosun. His ship was also attacked, and it was chaos

*When Ill go to vacation Ill watch some Sponge Bob and this music. Idc if Im too old for Sponge Bob.* :)
What is this genre even called? Lol
@@whiskerwonder. exactly what I imagine doing if I ever go to Hawaii. Watching spongebob and listening to this music lol
SAME! Along with surf instrumentals, and okay. Swing and big band, too

I can see how Spongebob, in a way, helped promote this beautiful music to the world at large. Thanks for the upload.
Damn, slightly asleep, kids playing, half margarita in hand, waves splashing, peace, that's how I wanna go out
Imagine the war is over and you chillin by Waikiki beach drinking some rhum and smokin a cigar during a lazy afternoon's lunch..
Excellent idea there, Mig. I'm on it.
Thank you for your nice music so much. I would like to go to Hawaii at once. Thank you very much.

last tour before retired from the Army. Two of my children born there. Still miss it.
Listening to this in the sun has to be the best feeling in the world☀️🥰
Wonderful, wonderful sounds of Hawaii!! I can smell the orchids, hear the waves lapping onshore, and feel tropical breezes gently blowing through the coconut palms as I drift away with this music Aloha and mahalo for posting this gem.
Wonderful, music of Hawaii. Great music!
Thanks!
Reminds me of tropical beaches prior to the concrete jungles
I like the scent of the plumeria flowers and the cooing of the doves.
I wonder if anyone who has opened this post was in Waikiki in the late 60's? There was a lose group of us who formed a group call the Greeks. We had T-Shirts that read "Greeks 67 Hawaii". It was a great time to be young in body and soul.
this makes me wanna go to Hawaii on a vacation and makes me wanna rewatch all the spongebob old episodes... i just love the calming vibe... so much
I have had this vinyl album since before 1965 and still play it.
On what label? I'd love to have the original vinyl lp or reel to reel tape.

i’m in hawaii right now for the first time and i had the best coconut ice cream tonight and this amazing song was playing LIVE and on the plane ride here i saw this beautiful girl and all these things make me so happy yet i wish i could see that girl again, she was amazing. i love Hawaii, it’s magical.
did you ever see her again?
I am a big music fan of 1950's and 60's Rock and Roll and early 1960's Surf rock instrumentals and I ALWAYS have and I ALWAYS will !
I love this cd ALOT ! ;-)
One day I shall travel to Hawaii and visit Waikiki beach and listen to these songs. One day…
Sounds like I’m doing another sailboat delivery to the mainland. Two glorious weeks in deep sea. Life can be beautiful.
I'm stoned listening to this, totally worth it !!
I'm from Hawaii, I love the music, always reminds me of Lilo and Stitch or SpongeBob but most of all it reminds me of my Hale and Ohana back home, mahalo bruddah
When I listen to this music, I am either doing one of three things:
1. Dreaming of Hawaii
2. Dozing at the Beach in Hawaii
3. Chilling in Hawaii
Hawaii is my happy place.
Hawaiian music is the BEST for relaxation, and i would def go on Hawaiian beach enjoying the breeze and scenery one day before my life ends!!
@Robin Leijon Have you seen the prices of everything there? If you’re a liberal who believes in being taxed to death, you may like it, but the average person will not like actually like living there.
@@darthjarjarbinks8953 it’s not that hard I’ve lived on Hawaii my whole life and I’m 52

Never been to hawai. But i live in a beach city and the ocean was always big part of my life, so this music touches my soul, since i always relate it to the beach and the sunsets.
