*Eranimus Vox* Several times during the story I was thinking to myself _"ok, now we're gonna be subjected to some filler b/s to build up the artificial suspension"_ (the tent parts), because sadly that is the standard. I was very pleasantly surprised that never happened in your awesome story. Also I love that you devoted so much attention to the failed attempt made by Tom to get through the pass. Usually we would get some ad-hoc excuse for Tom not being able to escape the dire situation. Again, describing this "trip" of his so thoroughly makes the whole story feel more real.
@@jaromor8808 thank you for the comment. There was more filler but at the request of creepy ghost, it was reduced. So if you were to thank someone, CGS is the one to thank. I think he made the right call though. With the version he ended up narrating, the story moved quicker but still retained all the pertinent information.
Showed this story to my grandpa thinking he would listen to the gold part and be interested, little did I know he listened to it TWICE and told me that “the gold rush was nothing like that. The awkward moment when a youtuber creepy pasta story narration had more emotion and pull you more in their narration than paid voice narrator from audio book.
*spoiler* . . . . . . I love the way the Wendigo is symbolic in this story. So many attribute Wendigos with cannibalism only. However, the Wendigo is also synonymous with greed, just like many of the people spoken of in the story (the dead and Jeff). This was an amazing story!
This story was my first visit to your channel. I am more than impressed by the quality of this production. What a great story with just the right amount of details. I was also impressed with the way the "reveal" took place. It built suspense and kept me coming back to finish this tale two times (I had fallen asleep) I was very curious to know the ending. I'm pleased to say your presentation of this creepy tale prompted me to subscribe! Thanx for providing us with a most enjoyable 2hrs.
I usually listen to horror narration to fall asleep but I was up on the edge of my seat for the entire two hours! The atmosphere was great, the plot was engaging, the narration was done so well, and the tension was just insane. Don't want to spoil anything in the comments so all I want so say about my favourite parts are that there are certain moments involving the tent that were heart-stopping. Close behind that I'm just going to say that I didn't think a candle could be used to create such a tense and horrifying scene. I can't say enough about how much I love this story and narration, it's going down as my favourite horror story of all time.
This has to be one of the most well constructed creepypastas I have heard in a long time. I hope they actually want they make a movie out of this because this would be a very interesting thriller.
I never really comment much... this time though It was as if I was an invisible entity watching every character do their part. Every step and every conversation, almost down to their attires... I think this might be my favorite so far. I can go on and on and on and on and on..... 👏👏👏👏 👏👏👏👏
The Wendigo!! I loved the whole story and the build up to the revelation of what the creature was! Great job CGS. You're in my top three favorite narrators.
@@SheriffValentine Nowadays it’s probably Vidith22 or Natures Temper. Dr. Creepen is another good one with lots of long stories. This is an incredible story in every way. RIVETING is an understatement, and written so beautifully in expressing vast amounts of backstories and emotions in the most meaningful and succinct manner. This is from the 1840s Gold Rush time, where so many died so tragically and futilely, and the author made these people come alive in my heart like I know them. If the narrator is not the author, I thank you both for just a fabulous and unexpected experience.

Proves what I know.... Good narration and though it didn't end the way I thought it would, the fact that I listened for over two hours is indicative of how good the story was.
