Friends to lovers is my favorite troupe. I'm amazed at how Colin has matured. He's become husband material. I believe he's loved Penelope for years, but didn't realize it until now. He was always nice to her and a good friend. He's the only one who talked to her at parties and even danced with her. He's so in love now and is proud of Penelope. And Penelope has blossomed into a gorgeous young lady. The new color palate suits her so much, and makes her unique beauty stand out. I hope Colin handles the news of her being Whistledown with understanding and dignity. Can't wait to see the second half!
It was so satisfying to see Colin start to lose patience for “raking” around and bro-talk, once he started to realize he cared for someone as more than just a hookup.

I was NOT looking forward to this season, but I cared nothing for Colin much before this, but holy FUCK did they deliver. I never much shipped the first two couples, like I enjoyed Kanthony far more than Daphne and Simon, but still, I didn’t squeal with happiness when they got together the way I did these two. They have flourished so much in just four episodes. I was at first annoyed with Colin, flirting and sleeping with any woman he could get his hands on (boo, you whore). but, after hearing his explanation of trying to disguise himself and fit in, I get it. Also seeing him so besotted and nuts over Pen was amazing. I so thought the dream scene was gonna be her dream, but it was his and I was so impressed. We wanted to see him grovel and grovel he did, he’s so in love, it’s nuts. He’s worse than Anthony was, lol and Anthony was like a cat in heat. The carriage scene was so hot, like this was such a win for fat people. Made me so happy. I’m enjoying the rest of the season so far, too. Love the Mondrichs, Lady Danbury’s brother worries me, if I can’t put a finger on why. Also, why is his last name Anderson? I thought she said in Queen Charlotte that her maiden name was Soma. Unless, he is her half sibling. He would have to be a great deal younger than her to be Violet’s age, although the made Violet 13ish in QC, so who knows how old she is actually supposed to be. Anyway, I like that Francesca is quiet, she and John are like introvert flirting goals. Makes me sad to know how they end up, but we will see what happens. I expected Kate and Anthony to be around more, but I’m kinda glad they aren’t. A mistake they made last season was giving the subplots more attention than the main, though I do personally watch this show for the drama more than the romance (up until now!). I still worry how Colin will react to finding out she is Lady Whistledown. I don’t see how they can recover from that in just a few episodes. I do hope that the Queen finds out her identity and they actually do become allies. Charlotte deserves that piece of mind and that way, maybe Pen can keep writing, because I cannot imagine the show without Lady Whistledown. I must say, I expected Pen and Eloise to be more petty about no longer being friends, but they are surprisingly civil, all things considered. I’m genuinely impressed. I was so pissed at her for hanging out with Cressida, but seeing a more human side of her has been so nice. I just wanna give her and hug. I hope she finds a husband, whether it be Lord Debling or someone else, maybe the other Lord in the wheelchair (Reming?) his name is escaping me, rn that Pen was talking to in the beginning. He seems to enjoy gossip and I feel like that could be a good fit for Cressida. I can’t wait for the rest of this season. I hope we get a proper apology from Portia to Pen. I also think he’d sisters are both going to have girls and then Pen and Colin will have a boy and they will get the house. I shouldn’t have watched all four episodes at once, but that carriage scene will live in my mind, rent free for the rest of forever. 👌
What about the cupcake scene, with the sleigh balloon, after pen bought her cupcake, colin bought 1 as well,and was eating the last bite,before the men came up to him, colin was enjoying the last mouthful, before he licked off the rest of the frosting from either his thumb or finger,before he jumped and saved Penelope life,by grabbing the guide rope of the balloon/ basket. Yes even thou denby was protecting her by shielding himself and her, but it was colin who grabbed the rope 1st.
Oh yeah...this song is absolutely perfect with Luke as singer and fits so well. I love it always and I don`t know how much this song plays the last weeks!!! I love your edit!

Sorry, practically wrote an essay on this... haha I hope it's worth the read. I never did think I would like Bridgerton, never thought to put it on... did it one day out of boredom... and then realised Luke Newton was in it (been there since The Lodge) and I was like... OKAY, and then seeing his friendship with Penelope, I related to her and I won't lie... I had a bit of a crush on Luke when he was in the other show so I was like, I'm Penelope in this, I live through their friendship. And learning that S3 is their season, I was invested in this from the beginning. My friend who watched it with me recorded my reaction haha... I look fucking nuts. But watching their little friends to more evolve was fresh and it was angsty. I felt they were killing us by making us wait even more in the first 3 episodes. The kiss was everything, gentle and delicate and almost scared like, because they were both crossing a boundary. It might not have meant anything to Colin, because he saw her as his friend who "You are Pen, you are my friend. You do not count" in his eyes... but it would've meant a great deal, a *massive* deal in fact to the Penelope, who had been crushing on him for years, pinning lets say, always loving it when his attention was on her, developing a friendship that is unmatched - that being me... dangerous territory. If she is one to get attached easily... that would've been a dream come true but also a heartbreaking move for her to not only ask but to actually commit to as she cared and loved for Colin so much. Lord Debling was a lovely gentleman, but he also felt like a safe choice. A safety net of sorts. Not one single other man took notice of her or even gave her the time of day. All of them laughed in her face practically and that hits the ego way harder than most people think.... but having someone who seems very gentle and sweet... he was looking for a wife to just look after his house... that is all it seemed to be, not for love. Since he'd be travelling, whereas Colin had already travelled and did what he wanted to do. He might not have been seeking a wife in any of the other ladies around the ton, but to me that is because his soul (Quoting Blaine from Glee here) his soul know something his mind and heart didn't know at the time and and when I watched their first kiss, it was that moment I shouted loud as hell, "there it is, that's the moment he's realised" and of course with the following scene in the next episode, I mean, I thought they were meeting up again in secret... but it almost felt dream like hahaha, his heart began to need her, want her. I know some people are going off at him for sleeping with other women, but I think it's more of the fact that deep in his mind, Penelope is his friend, a matter of fact. So like, he tried to get her off his mind but the kiss really fucked with his brain and that's why the second time he was with those girls - his mind was elsewhere... he couldn't concentrate on them because his heart and mind was elsewhere. He knew what he wanted, but now he was fighting against someone who was willing to marry Penelope, willing to marry his best friend -- hence why in Colin's brain, Lord Debling wasn't right for her. I loved the way they ended it tbh, it gives so much dept to the way he was thinking in those final moments with her in the carriage. But I am so scared for what is it to come....
