    How do you connect the KEF subwoofer options to this system? This system has the mono subwoofer RCA output but their subs look to have stereo RCA inputs which is throwing me off. Can the KEF sub options be hooked up wirelessly to these speakers so it all integrates seamlessly in the app?

  • @bluesharkmadness7101

    I just bought KEF LSX which is my first hi-fi speakers. I use it as my desktop speakers. Previously I've used Logitech Z5500 with added tweeters. I've got to say that KEF LSX does not impress me at all. It sounds muffled and flat. I'd say my previous setup which costs much much less than KEF LSX sounds better to my ears.

    • @skybellrock
      @skybellrock 11 месяцев назад

      Is it possible that the speakers are simply more neutral than you are used to and you prefer something less neutral? For professionals neutral flat sound is usually what you want for mixing. It is a desired trait to be accurate. Most hifi speakers and especially cheap speakers have extremely exaggerated EQ with often way too much bass boost. You may prefer this, but it is not a sign of a good speaker. It gives you worse quality but you may experience it as better if you specifically like that.

    • @bluesharkmadness7101
      @bluesharkmadness7101 11 месяцев назад

      @@skybellrock I don’t have professional ears but if I would to compare it with let’s say sound quality at music festivals, it seems to lack quite a bit in treble range. On the contrary, I’m quite ok with the bass although I’ve added a subwoofer to my setup to enhance it.

    • @bluesharkmadness7101
      @bluesharkmadness7101 11 месяцев назад

      @@skybellrock I’m not sure how to put it into words but it doesn’t sound like music festivals when I play music festival songs. My old setup sounds exactly like how a music festival would sound like live. On KEF LSX, it sounds like it has been muffled/nerfed as if there is “no space/tight”. My old setup sounds very “open/airy”.
      Also another issue, when I connect using aux, there is a loud noise sound (very loud) when I don’t play anything. The noise stops when I play something though.

    is there a DAC built-in or USB input?

    • @cablebrain9691
      @cablebrain9691 5 лет назад +1

      I own these, and there IS a built-in DAC, but unfortunately the USB port is for powering-out ONLY.
      Using a USB, powering capable splitter wire, I am currently powering a Google Chromecast Audio (sending streaming audio to the speaker's Toslink input), and a separate, inexpensive DAC (to convert my TV's optical output to analog and send it to the speaker's mini-plug input). Unfortunately, there was only one Toslink input, therefor the need for the external DAC.

      Same - definitely not.always a 5 minute setup.I suspect they need a bit more time than you'd expect to integrate into the network. Bluetooth connection to mac and pc is c#*p - known Win 10 problems with bt but have now got them to play PC audio over bt - except RUclips audio doesn't work. not looked into mac audio yet.
      Not tried opt or aux yet.
      Sound quality - first listen was very disappointing - complete lack of bass to me (Note - don't use Mr Big as the first track on new speakers 😮 I'm not a bass head but like to hear it) Have played them for a couple of days now and sound is getting better, including the lows, and my ears are tuning in. Still early though. 30 days to return them and I haven't made up my mind yet. Currently think it's @60/40 that I'll keep them.

    WHY ???? would anyone spend a £1000 on a pair of desktop speakers?? £500 tops I’d say... for a PC you need only spend £200 to get a good sound AND if you need TV speakers a SONOS Beam is more than adequate.
    I’ve heard these speakers and they sound thin and light although acoustically detailed, not very listenable. Definitely need a subwoofer for full immersive sound.
