Welcome to another Overdrive Initiative video, we must now go to a crash site and collect some packages to bring to the Pyro Jump gate! Is it just a simple delivery?
This phase is ship combat with some ground traversal and package movement.
This mission amazing, and one of the biggest rewards is as described on the CIG page;
"F7A HORNET MK II
Authorized Mil-Spec Upgrade
XenoThreat has returned and the stakes have never been higher. So, for the first time in history, the UEE Navy has approved the military-exclusive F7A Hornet Mk II for civilian use. Hitting harder than the already devastating F7C thanks to additional turrets and missiles, the F7A is a no-compromise fighter outfitted for the most dangerous combat encounters.
However, such a focused war machine can’t be operated by anybody. To gain approval, play your part in the Overdrive Initiative - a Civilian Defense Force operation to wipe out XenoThreat terrorists before they can assault Stanton. Upon completion, the UEE Navy will grant all F7C Mk II owners a complimentary upgrade to the F7A Mk II."
Start with phase one and then move onto this phase, with more to come soon that will grant you access to the F7A MKII Upgrade, free if you own the F7C Hornet MKII.

According to Nicou-CIG, phase 5 is the latest mission required to get the rewards next month. The final mission post 3.23 called "Xenothreat Assault/phase 6" will not be required but is only there to finish the story of the event.
I bought packages for each of my boys and we use to play all the time but now they are teenagers and playing with dad is not as cool as it use to be. Enjoy it! I hope I get to catch his video.
Hahaha, I did the same thing with my son. The minute he hit his teens, it was no longer cool. He will occasionally log in to do me a solid and med pen me.

At least according to Erkul, the weapons actually have significantly more differences between them. The Freelancer having the M5A cannons stock gives a high damage, low ammo, slow projectile speed weapon.
The M5A is listed as 506.4/ 100/ 1000 m/s for alpha/rate of fire/projectile speed.
Omnisky XI/Quarreler as 270/ 150/ 1400 m/s
Fl-33/Lightstrike III as 151.8/ 200/ 1800 m/s
Capacitor requirement is different for each cannon, but the lower damage cannons have an equivalently lower capacitor draw, therefore more shots before regen.
Subsequently, in my time comparing loadouts, it seems ballistics and lasers no longer have a middle ground on projectile speed.
Also according to Erkul, gimbals don’t lower the size of your weapons anymore.
I love that with the hundreds of ships in-game... you take a Freelancer. I _love_ my Freelancer MIS. It is my Kickstarter ship and I upgraded it to the MIS the day the variants were announced. People complain about the view, but I love the ship. Especially with the STV fitting so nicely in back. It's been my go-to ship after every wipe since I first logged into the 'verse.
Regarding stations, I love the look of the Jump Point Stations, but I rarely have a reason to go there. My favourite station in terms of _looks_ is Bajini Point. But, for me, a station needs to have a good selection of components, armour, and weapons, and I haven't found any that have all of that. So, for me, I usually just start off working out of Orison. Can't go wrong with Cousin Crow's, Crusader Showroom, Kel-To, and Crusader Surplus all in one spot.
I am really psyched for the F7A mk2. I love my F7C-M mk1 Heartseeker and the F7C mk2 has been a lot of fun to fly but the mk2s are just so sleek and are fun to fly.
I've been through servers all over the planet. Only managed to get the mission once. One of the three boxes was canceled while flying to the target. The other two I couldn't deliver because the machine was bugged. It's had dozens of boxes stacked around it. The pickup site was an absolute graveyard of destroyed ships.
I really didn't expect this to be the most buggy mission of the lot 😂
I and many other have had the same nightmare with this one , box's not able to pickup , some not reachable at the location ( behind locked doors ) some not spawning at location , some drop off points not working . wow 2 days straight with not being able to complete, oh and only one mission spawning at a time ? lots and lots of waiting for the mission to drop and then to plead with who has it to share the mission for it to then bug out .. I think CIG dropped the ball on this part .. such a shame .
@@firstone2917 someone actually thought the one instance per server was a good idea. To 'motivate' us to work together... To deliver 3 boxes.. Right... There are actually at least two missions active at once. I got it at the same time as someone else in chat.
This is definitely the least fun of the Overdrive missions. Everyone is just waiting and waiting and then begging in chat to be invited
I am so glad to finish this. Took a few tries and a few server hops.
The missions have been annoyingly difficult here and there but I love having missions that actually feel like they have narrative. They’re the first missions that have felt productive and fun.
Favorite station is HUR-L1. Good memories with old mining and I love racing toward the center of the donut and reverse burning to stop right in the middle.
Nice videos, helps to know what your heading into when doing them solo. I even did the Kareah part solo. Managed to hide from the AI for 3/4th of the mission. So only guns blasting for a few hectic minutes
Nice video. You're using one of my favorite ships. The Freelancers remind me of the Serenity a little.
I had the hardest time with this mission. I had to try 5 times because of boxes falling through the ground, the boxes no longer being acknowledged by the mission and the kiosks breaking. But 5th time was the charm.
Yeah, I was reading that a lot in chat. I was lucky to have it work first time but it took 2+ hours just for the mission to pop.
This mission was really buggy for me, I completed it by some miracle, it says now supply 1/1 complete in my logs and nothing else....
i enjoy the missions , intime that will improve and it will be more missions like that
I fell through the space station as I was trying to turn the first box in. Lost all my progress.

Just tried the first run through this. Got to Pyro station and the drop off in the cargo center was infinite spin/please wait. Grr!!!

@@EvenLease44 Yep, ended up running it a few more times and failing. Then Sunday two of my org mates joined me and we completed it!
I was just trying to do this mission in 3.23 and both times one of the packages got bugged and couldn’t even pick it up
I did the mission and shared it with 3 other players. Once we finished the mission even though it shows the mission as "Completed"; it only listed the Medical box as "Delivered". It showed All 3 boxes Picked Up, but only 1 Delivered. Did this happen to anyone else? And does it even matter as long as it says "Completed"
Wave 5 looks fun
Let's see if yours was as mundane as mine...nope! Looks like I got lucky (or unlucky, if you like combat). It sent me to a new caterpillar wreck, so I had four neutral NPC ships (that would attack hostiles). Looks like you got sent to an old wreck, and those sites have four hostile NPC ships that spawn. Also, I just landed at a pad and used my tractor beam to toss all of the packages by the elevator door...just a little bit faster than running out into my ship every time.
I think I would've liked to do three of these as well? I kind of feel bad for telling the one guy that the NPC ships would be neutral and not to attack them! Didn't think that it might use all of the wreck sites, lol.
Thank God we don't have to do it 3 times. I attempted for 5 hours tonight and ran into bug after bug, to no avail.
@@drewbydoobydoo2918 Yeah man, I did it as soon as it was available and it went smoothly. Looks like that wasn't the case much later than that for a lot of people. Hopefully the fixes in 3.23 will do the trick, and everyone can knock phases 5 out quickly.
Fought your way through bunkers, SPK, Com Relays, heavy space battles then it ends with a doordash delivery lmao.
drop box at the admin office also bugs, it wont allow you to drop off the third package smh
i only got 2 crates for my mission? i dunno if its gonna let me win...
Tried this mission over 15 times, every server has a broken kiosk.
What a disaster lmao....
Yeah phase 5 has been the worst of them all for the majority, hope they can just forget counting phase 5 and anyone that completed 1-4 will allow the awards.
@@EvenLease44 Thankfully I managed to complete it after a few more server hops with a friend last night. Best solution I found was spawning at the Pyro JP and checking for functional drop offs before going for the contract. Seemed like Christmas deco around the drop off points with how neatly stacked everyone's packages were. I hope CIG finds a good solution to this issue, maybe even just let participation of the final event count. At least until they figure out a permanent solution. I like the idea of doing multiple missions for a reward, but only when it's working haha.

The upgrade token will always be bound to your account so it's a good idea to pick it up, unless you don't like hornets.
