if I'm not mistaken there is far less record of the war from the Chinese side since it isn't considered a big event compare to other things that are happening in china like the war with the Manchu people? and the claim that ming is weakened because of the war is also a bit questionable since they spent way more resources on the war with the Machu. anyway great video bro, and I def agree that we need to take history records with a grain of salt no matter which side. people like to evaluate history from a perspective of modern-day value and geopolitics instead of appreciating history in a more objective way

When a battle is so awesome it actually never happened! Interesting video! On the topic of Muneshige... Does he actually achieve great merits at some point? Maybe I just don't know enough about him, but I'm shocked that he was praised and compared to the very accomplished Honda Tadakatsu by Hideyoshi himself, when for the most part doesn't look like he did all that much.

He does, just most of it is later in life. Such as the Siege of Osaka

I mean in Turkish history similar battle but this time happened. In Ottoman history the maritza war. I am not joking 800 vs. 50.000 - 70.000. I proud to be turkish sometimes because of that war xd.

It reminds me of how things heat up when discussing the battle of Myeongnyang, and somebody comes with the numbers: "Admiral Yi defeated 330 ships with only 13", when he actually engaged only the vanguard, still amazing, but not as outlandish as it's made to by. It seems the Imjin war will always be attached to nationalist rethoric, and when that happens, things always turn ugly and irrational.

@@yongseung3272 Didn't you read what I wrote? He engaged only the vanguard... which means that even if the fleet was 330 (which it wasn't according to the japanese that give a much lower number), it only engaged it's vanguard. Your bad reading comprehension and your nationalism are both not my problem. I still believe Admiral Yi to be a genius and a hero, but things tend to get overblown.

@@saidtoshimaru1832 The Japanese fleet was likely 330, there are numerous sources supporting this. However there size and role is debated. For you to immediately call this guy essentially "stupid" and just immediately point to nationalist brainwashing is crazy.

@@obviouslyafakeaccount1504 I can't find the place where I called him stupid. And even if the fleet was 330 (which is questionable), I said that due to Admiral Yi's strategy and battleplan, he never had to face those 330 ships, only the vanguard. Then, again, this is youtube, and people just read what they want from you comments.

Not that Chinese and Koreans (or other Japanese commanders) were immune to lies or outright fabrication when they benefit them. The burning of Yongsan warehouse complex (fabricated by Song Yingchang and Li Rusong) immediately comes to mind.

It makes you question a lot of events in history. Maybe some are heavily bias, twisted or just flat out didn't happen
