It really depends upon which computer I'm using. I started with Camtasia on a Windows machine, but I've been moving over to the combination of OBS/Kdenlive on Linux. At some point, I hope to do everything on Linux.

Well, that's a good question, and I unfortunately don't have a good answer. Your best bet would be to ask this of a Linux kernel programmer.
