What an interesting documentary. So well presented and edited. It makes me want to move to your river. Oh, wait a minute....we already have :-) :-). I love the rowing shots of course. M #templesurlot #rowing #riverlot
I'm always interested in the details of a move to another country. It's so hard to anticipate everything in a move, so the stories of others who have gone ahead are so helpful! I lived for a month on Bréhat one summer, and it was a great trip of my life. I hope to move permanently to France someday soon. So many old friends to leave behind though. It does make me move very slowly on this project.
You’re so right. It so hard to anticipate everything, the bureaucracy puts most people off from moving, but it shouldn’t. We just take each hurdle at a time and go for it! Leaving friends is very hard too. But you do get quality time with them when they stay to visit! But do take your time with your decision as everyone’s situation is different, so make sure the move is right for you!
AS regards to my previous comments .I understand now your on the Long-Stay TLS is that for the both of you, You applied in London at the TLS contact center but did you go London to hand in your documents in person. Any reason you didn't apply before you brought the house, Or was that done because you needed a permanent address in France for your application. In my case I had a one year rental agreement in France. So if things go wrong I could return to my house. and I was renting that house out and got the income from it, The French dont seem to be to keen on pensioner applicants as many come with existing health problems and future needs. I'm watching your France series and commenting as I go, So apologize for some comments that are after the fact so to speak, Merci
Replying to two of your comments here for this ep and ep 1. Putting more detail in the video in episode 2 oddly reduced the ratings in the analytics with a drop in viewing whilst we discussed the visa center. So we are now just concentrating on the fun stuff! I might do some separate programmes on the detail if people commented they would like to see that. Yes we took our docs by hand. But then waited for the return by first class post. We bought the house pretty much on impulse because we liked it so much. So far we have been welcomed by the French which is lovely! :)
@@Maria_and_Rich_Newlifeinfrance Well I enjoy your friendliness on camera . Yes maybe thats a idea for the future to go into more detail if people request such a video, Also a title of a video can increase views. and shorts get you noticed more, Even a facebook link. Get more adds in your feed. But have your channel in UK and add it to your self assessment. Thats what many people ex-pats do who have similar subject channels
Yes! It was a bit of an impulse purchase as we didn’t want to miss out on the French villa. However we are so glad we did it, bit by bit it gets easier and easier.
@@Maria_and_Rich_Newlifeinfrance Hey there, I was wondering about this too, but didn't want to say anything. But look, as a guy selling 2 houses in an attempt to get my France move to happen before Christmas, I know that feeling of "let's get it going already!" And my plan for next year is to finally have a live aboard sized motor-boat! So I look forward to your future videos. And I know it'll work out--the property purchase, I'm sure, goes a long way in the visa department. Oh, and best of luck with the language-I practice daily, but those words are not made for an English speaking mouth...
Hope you get things sorted but I am afraid the French like the Spanish make it as hard as possible so silly they lose out but love your house all the very best x
I honestly think change is on its way. I’m sure they will relax the rules, even a little by the end of this year. I hope so, because I’m counting on it! Re the house thank you it’s the reason we are here and battling the bureaucracy :)
Do you know that these "silly" rules for 3rd countries were push by the UK when still in the EU ? Punish by the rules you voted it's "l'arroseur arrosé" !
Wonderful video 😊

Thank you so much! You need to watch episode 20… you are featured in that episode.. Bonjour next door neighbours 😂
We used to live in Jersey. While there, we bought a little bite in france, near Dinan. Only go once a year now as its pretty far lol.
Aha love Dinan, one of my favourite places!

It seems a little bit weird to not get the long term visa before selling the house in Jersey and buying the one in France.

Did the pretty doggy barked in english ? 🤣
In French they say a dogs bark is Waouh, waouh .. Dylan’s bark is very much a woof woof.., hope that helps! 😂
Incredibly lucky my hubby is now Irish,so we still have eu status and don’t need visas.
Roll on September when we move
You’re so lucky! That does make it very easy! Enjoy your move, it should be more fun without all the extra paperwork!
A bit smug for me!!
Oil Mr and Mrs Smug to you! 😂

The EU countries "punishing" the UK for Brexit, eh? You read that in the Daily Mail or Express?

Aha yes, I read the connexion over here it’s a French newspaper but in english, they like me believe possible changes for the better on there way!

The French or Spanish did not make it hard.
The self imposed brexit made it hard.
