Friend, we watch you because of you showing us a part of the world we will never see. And your love of curry, of course. 😂 Equipment can go faulty, but I'd bet most of your followers would watch a video of yours even if the audio was just static. Stay well, friend.
I am a 72 year old American woman, and I LOVE your videos! They are interesting and delightful. Thank you for all you put into these. Please keep the videos coming. I am learning a lot.
All the beautifully prepared foods you were served and not a single sighting of curried rice. Didn't the ferry company recognize you on the boarding list? Lol.
Every time STJ-san bites into a piece of food and the subtitles show [!!], I can't help but imagine him saying "Mmmm!" in his own mind. He's a true blue food connoisseur and enthusiast.
My dear friend, I notice that you are embarking on yet another incredible adventure. As someone who also faces numerous challenges, I find solace in watching your videos, which effortlessly make my day pass by. I am truly grateful for the time and dedication you invest in creating these videos. Sending you lots of love and wishing you safety and enjoyment on my behalf.
I love the food presentation. That is so appealing. I do not usually write so much but really liked this video a lot. I have heard about the sunflower ferry in other videos. So it was nice to hear the music. God job
When he said “What’s in the box?” did anyone else picture an itsy bitsy Gwyneth Paltrow head in there? This was so fun, as always, STJ! Thank you! And that food looked absolutely stunning! 💚🙏🕊🛳️
You know, before finding your channel, I had no desire to go to Japan. Now, I want to go so bad ! But I would have to diet before going because the food looks so delicious ! Thank you again for another great video. By the way, I just planted my sunflowers 🌻 today 😊
What a great trip. Great ship, food, amenities, onboard facilities in your room or in the main deck. And yeah even though the arrival time is definitely early morning, but you can stay around one and half hour
Usually I watch your videos from at home in Australia, but today I am watching from my hotel room in Kanazawa. I wish I was in Japan for longer so I could catch a ferry ! Oh well, next time. I will think of you during hotel breakfast buffet as I eat my Kanazawa curry! Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication!
Oh man...unagidon with tamagoyaki! I am hungry for eel now! Yeah, you may not be a big fan of eel, but it's one of my favorites! Find me a place that serves unagidon, takoyaki, and okonomiyaki and you have a customer for life!
omg I live in Niigata and I already miss the old bus stop, it was one of the last if not THE last bus terminals in Japan to have the busses park in backwards. I also took the same ship route in March but in the opposite direction when I returned from my solo trip to Hokkaido!
The toilet is awesome. Most of us in Canada do not have Washlet or bidets. So this is awesome on a ferry. I got one when recovering from hip surgery. I would never go back to a regular one again. So much more sanitary. Is this the norm in Japan. If so that is a very good health measure and I applaud the forward thinking of your government and corporations. I love your videos.i have end stage pulmonary fibrosis so am an arm chair traveller. Have a wonderful and full life filled with as many curry types as possible. Hugs from Ladysmith BC Canada
I absolutely adore unagi and unajyu, not just because I enjoy the texture of river eel, but also because the sweet, salty, umami sauce that comes with it is one of the best things ever, to me. Looks like you had a fine time on this cruise!
Lovely room and the food! Amazing meals and they give you so much food. I don't know how you manage to eat so much. Maybe a few laps around the ship and up and down the stairs? I love your videos and thank you for sharing.
Oh yeah with it looking that cold I can see why you didn’t use the open air bath! But wow I can see why the cost was so high since it included 2 meals. I’ve recently taken the opposite trip on the Lavender ship and on the Azalea ship from Niigata to Tsuruga.
I love the inside the ferry it looks so grand. And the cabbin insede looks clean and comfy for a good nights rest. But where is the curry for Our friend solo travel japan. You make me happy when you you go for more food. 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
I've been reading, and apparently food allergies and restrictions are not always catered to in Japan. The room looked amazing, as did the food, but as someone with a seafood allergy, I couldn't have eaten a lot of what you get served. I do wonder if you could book a suite without the meal service, because I would like to be able to eat the food that I pay for... Anyway, thanks a lot for taking us with you today!
That was a lovely room, looked so relaxing. I'd hope they have bubble bath. One of the food items made me laugh though. I'm a bit immature maybe but I wouldn't be able to say yurine dumpling with a straight face haha.
Awesome as always, STJ! The room service food looked way too beautiful to eat! That's my kind of cruise. Get room service, chill out in the cabin, watch TV and take a nap!! (Yes, I am an American, lol!) 😆
15:51 - That lunch looks like it's perfect for me! I was hoping to see more videos about how to get to Hokkaido and Sapporo from the greater Kanto or Tohoku regions of Honshu. I'm in the early planning stages for a Japan trip and am planning to spend a majority of my time in Hokkaido. I have an idea of how I'll get back to Tokyo from there, but I'm still not sure about if I want to get there quickly by Shinkansen, or slowly by Ferry or overnight bus. I always enjoy your videos
Very cool video, thanks for sharing it. Love seeing these all the time, helps me relax at night seeing the sights and calmness of it all. ❤ I do have a question for you STJ, are you a fan of Tousouchuu? By any chance.
I love it. I am taking notes as I watch your videos because you are travelling during the time frame that I plan to visit in 2026. Maybe we will cross paths then.
I am in awe of the cleanliness and order in Japanese society. I could live there very happily! I’m from a military family so was brought up to be respectful of others and their possessions. It looks to me that the people of Japan have a similar mindset. 😊 Edit… I’d really struggle with the food though. I’m vegetarian and have to avoid certain foods for medical reasons. One of them being rice 😢 I love it but it doesn’t love me 😞
Always enjoy these adventures, and your sense of humor. However, as an American, I can tell you that was definitely not a basic toilet 😂. (I also lived in Japan for three years as a JET program member).
You must have been very disappointed. No beef curry and no pine bath. My wife and I are coming to japan next week. We won't be doing any ferries, though.
OMG! I'm pretty sure Solo's Link! And that's not a ship, it's Hyrule in disguise. (18:19 ) And is it weird that the one thing from Solo/Link's dinner I'm dying to try is chimaki? I love sticky rice!
as an non native speaker, i really wish there would be from time to time a little voiceover, at least for Local Names, but also i love the silence in your videos...
End the mystery! What is Miso soup? Usually it appears to be a light broth with some green onions floating on top. Other times there are ingredients that sink to the bottom. What qualifies a soup as miso? 🇺🇲 greetings from Chicago, Illinois USA
Miso is soybean paste made with Koji and rice, that is what is floating in the bottom.the broth is umami rich taste made of seaweed and dried fish but it tastes nothing like either. I hate both those things and love miss soup. The plain type had green onions and tofu cubes. Red miso is a bit richer in flavor.
Due to the malfunction of my camera, there is often noise in this video.
Thanks for always watching.
STJ

STJ - thanks for always taking us with you.
You had a mosquito stuck in there :D
I hope that you can get the camera fixed or better replaced by a new one.
Lol.
I always look for an “extra” empty bowl, STJ can be sneaky sometimes 😂
At this point, Sunflower should name their curry rice after him.
Every time STJ-san bites into a piece of food and the subtitles show [!!], I can't help but imagine him saying "Mmmm!" in his own mind. He's a true blue food connoisseur and enthusiast.

I absolutely love your videos. They give me such a sense of peace. And I love exploring Japan through your eyes. Thank you so much.
I love the food presentation. That is so appealing. I do not usually write so much but really liked this video a lot. I have heard about the sunflower ferry in other videos. So it was nice to hear the music. God job
Well trained pillow-great abs 😂😂😂 I like your sense of humor 🎉
When he said “What’s in the box?” did anyone else picture an itsy bitsy Gwyneth Paltrow head in there?
This was so fun, as always, STJ! Thank you! And that food looked absolutely stunning! 💚🙏🕊🛳️
Yup, I did!
Nope .. I heard " not enough food in that box for this hungry cat". Bushyboy Oz
Nope, I immediately thought of Mr. Burns holding a box with question marks all over it.
Yes, I thought the exact same thing. "WHAT'S IN THE BOOOOOOOXXXXX!?!?!?!"
I mm will never see Japan in person so I very much enjoy watching your videos !
You know, before finding your channel, I had no desire to go to Japan. Now, I want to go so bad ! But I would have to diet before going because the food looks so delicious ! Thank you again for another great video. By the way, I just planted my sunflowers 🌻 today 😊
I enjoyed "our" meal!!! The beef looked wonderful! Thank you!!
I love that the ferry staff waves goodbye.
Thank you for another wonderful video Solo-san. 🥰
I always think of the job specifications…can you wave effectively? Can you wave in time with others while holding a glow stick? 😂
I love your trips on ferries. They're always entertaining and the meals so appetizing I wish I lived closer.
What a great trip. Great ship, food, amenities, onboard facilities in your room or in the main deck. And yeah even though the arrival time is definitely early morning, but you can stay around one and half hour

You always make my mouth water when you survey your meals. A vicarious pleasure for me.
I learned a lot about Japanese culture and daily life with these kind of travel videos.Thank you so much for your afforts.
Love Japanese ferries and your peaceful videos mr solo-san
The ship lobby’s are always so clean and shined.
All your videos make me want to come visit Japan just to take a Sunflower ferry trip! :)
I'm from the us and love these videos 😍
I always enjoy your videos, something about them makes me feel less lonely. Thank you for the hard work.
The bathromm of this suite is as large as my whole flat!
Oh man...unagidon with tamagoyaki! I am hungry for eel now!
Yeah, you may not be a big fan of eel, but it's one of my favorites! Find me a place that serves unagidon, takoyaki, and okonomiyaki and you have a customer for life!
Hello from France 🇫🇷, i see lot's of japan vidéos on the ferry and really for me it's SUNFLOWER the Best. Thank lot for a visit. Bye
It looks like it was a comfortable trip, and the food looked amazing. Thanks for taking us on the voyage.
omg I live in Niigata and I already miss the old bus stop, it was one of the last if not THE last bus terminals in Japan to have the busses park in backwards. I also took the same ship route in March but in the opposite direction when I returned from my solo trip to Hokkaido!
I did not mind the camera noise at all. It fit right in to a soothing and entertaining video.

Thank you!
That eel looked 🤌🏾 I love eel!
Your cabin looked 🤌🏾 also.
I wanna be like you when I "grow up" (I'm probably way older than you) Haha
The food looks so good! I'd love to go on a trip like this.
I loved the description of the "potato" as "potato salad" 😂
16:44 beautiful scenery.
That eel looked amazing!
I'm sure it was quite the m-eel!
@@paradoxparade1 Good one! I’m a huge fan of unagi
Thanks looks a great journey

It looks like an amazing trip.relaxing.
Thanks! Love watching your videos.
Thanks for the superthanks!
Best parts of your videos are the food you eat and the room tours
Banger video even with the extra noise.❤❤❤❤
✨beautiful egg 🍳✨ 3:40

Another great video. Thankyou. My new dream is to take a ferry journey in Japan, inspired by you. And also visit Ueda castle and Sanada museum.
I've been reading, and apparently food allergies and restrictions are not always catered to in Japan. I'm 68 going on 12!! LOL and thats exactly what I thought :)
love your vids, the food always looks amazing (even when not sure what it is!), don't know how anyone gets through those huge meals though
Your videos make me relaxed and hungry! Thanks for making these :)
Awesome as always, STJ! The room service food looked way too beautiful to eat! That's my kind of cruise. Get room service, chill out in the cabin, watch TV and take a nap!! (Yes, I am an American, lol!) 😆
Wonderful video. Thank you for making these!
Can't wait to watch this tonight after work! ❤
From Taiwan:
I enjoy your VIDEO
As ASMR or my travel guide
Unajyu, it's not something you are, it's something you have!
That cabin looks like an apartment! It was enormous!
😊😊😊😊 the squeak in the camera malfunction remains me of my Pomeranian when he is wanting me to pick him up i love it lol
Thanks for sharing this ferry video!
I think that I would spend most of my time in that tub with a view.
Such a lovely suite, and a really beautiful dinner! Thanks as always for sharing your travels with us. 🐻☕
Greetings from Redondo Beach 🇺🇸Nice ferry boat suite. Food looks good too. Nice video.🌷
15:51 - That lunch looks like it's perfect for me!

Wow. Even a man of my "extra dimension" would find this room most comfortable. Is Kikkoman a big brand in Japan? The food looked fabulous.
Kikkoman soy sauce is common in the US. It's very good.
Very cool! I hope to use this route later in the year, in the opposite direction. I hope a suite will still be available by then 🙏🏻
Very cool video, thanks for sharing it. Love seeing these all the time, helps me relax at night seeing the sights and calmness of it all. ❤ I do have a question for you STJ, are you a fan of Tousouchuu? By any chance.
Very nice video! Very nice cuisine! And snow!!!!!!!

Love your videos, have learned so much about Japan from your travels.
I've always wanted to try a grilled eel and rice bowl. They look delicious 😋. Maybe someday 😊
It always seems you have the whole ship to yourself 😀
Nice room. The only time I used that bathroom chair on a ferry, it wasn't in the shower. Guess where? I get terribly seasick haha.
must be a nice experience
Wonderful. Greetings from Canada.
Always enjoy these adventures, and your sense of humor. However, as an American, I can tell you that was definitely not a basic toilet 😂.
(I also lived in Japan for three years as a JET program member).
Great video
❤❤
Thanks for always supporting!
You must have been very disappointed. No beef curry and no pine bath. My wife and I are coming to japan next week. We won't be doing any ferries, though.
You should!! It’s about the same cost as a hotel room, and you get to see a different part of the country!
Always great. Socks matching with bath decor superb! Arigato mata!
your ferry videos have become part of my winding down routine before bed. thank you so much!
OMG! I'm pretty sure Solo's Link! And that's not a ship, it's Hyrule in disguise. (18:19 ) And is it weird that the one thing from Solo/Link's dinner I'm dying to try is chimaki? I love sticky rice!
Nice trip
I'm always hungry after watching! 😊
Beautiful ❤
Ooh, I ❤❤❤ unajyu! I had it for dinner last week! Your lunch looks soooo yummy! I always enjoy your ferry trips.
I laughed at that doorbell chime - it was great!
Also, there was a Karaoke room and you didn't go in to sing the Sunflower song?
as an non native speaker, i really wish there would be from time to time a little voiceover, at least for Local Names, but also i love the silence in your videos...
Japan must be bigger than I'm imagining in my head... somewhere between twelve and sixteen hours to get from the middle of Japan up to almost the tip?
Did you visit the steam clock in Otaru?
Are there names for travelling around the inside and outside of Japan?
3:35 heh. The "I'm not even going to try" Omurice.
Where do you buy the ferry tickets?
How does the karaoke room work. This is new to me
11:55 That's the jingle for FamilyMart, interesting it's used in the ferry lol
Amazing egg.
In every video I watch on RUclips, I find that Japanese tourists care more about the food than the trip. Is there an explanation?
I wonder if this is the same room that Chris and Connor had?
End the mystery! What is Miso soup? Usually it appears to be a light broth with some green onions floating on top. Other times there are ingredients that sink to the bottom. What qualifies a soup as miso? 🇺🇲 greetings from Chicago, Illinois USA

Miso is delicious.
In the US, you should be able to find miso at a supermarket or asian food store. It's likely to be sold as a powder you add to hot wa
If had any Japanse soup and you didn't feel miso-rable afterwards then you had miso soup.
