Love this! Two more great songs by CCR are “Constantly” and “Sick and Tired”. Cody Canada (the lead singer) actually lives in my neighborhood, he is an awesome guy !
Eli Young said it beat "I'm just a small town kid driven by rock music and some honky tonk in the mix" that's a lyrics from small town kid by Eli Young but it helps sum up Texas/ Reddirt music. Bands like ragweed grew up listing to rock with a huge respect for country legends, so when they started making music they weren't trying to be country they were, they weren't wanting to be rock stars they just made music and the music is the sound of small town kids driven by rock music with some honkey tonk in the mix. One of my favorite Ragweed songs is sister, but my favorite Ragweed jam is 'carneyman' it's a light hearted jam that everyone should hear
Nice man. In my opinion, CCR was one of the founders of red dirt country. They broke up and the lead singer Cody Canada's band is now called the Departed. Lots of great music still coming from him.
Hey dude, love the channel, you should try Roger Creager. Live Across Texas album, first song "Long way to Mexico" to ease you in. Then..."having fun all wrong". And then check out Kevin Fowler.
The Boys from Oklahoma would like to make a Ragweed request/suggestion. We'd like to see/hear 'The Boys From Oklahoma'. Thanks, -The Boys From Oklahoma P. S. Play some Waylon F'ing Jennings
@@OliWilford Thanks, brother. I may not be in to much of the new "country- slash- tractor rap", I'm old and the drugs have taken their toll. Having said that, I sense you're genuine and doing this for all the right reasons , thus doing what you can for our kind of music. That, I respect and appreciate. I could list 20+ Waylon Jennings songs worthy of reacting to(say I can't). Start down the Waylon Jennings rabbit hole here. It will give you an idea where the man's coming from. ruclips.net/video/55DO5sNGZ_s/видео.html
@@thetextpistols7354 100% - I'm trying to listen to as many different types of country as possible. I'm open to learning what's out there, and I know I have a pretty broad range of what I like, so not everything will be for everyone. The one thing I connect with, regardless of sub genre is the sense of community. I don't get that so much over this side of the pond. So I'm greatful and every suggestion is helping expand my understanding of country music/culture!

My dad's best friend somehow met Cody. and he figured out that they were cousins. He got free tickets to his concert later.
