If you cannot start the quest, dismiss your companion or pet. The wanderer will say *Sniff.... sniff* instead of the actual dialogue can begin. Just a heads up to anyone else out there trying to look for answers.
People who say its outdated aren't wrong, but it's easier to follow and gives you more QoL options, do don't freak out about ppl complaining, it's actually easier
im following the steps on this guide exactly and the quest will not progress.. why change shit? its so frustrating. wheres the QoL of having to look up multiple guides just to progress a single step
@kanaotsuyuri1595 yeah when returning the statue for me I did it in the same room where I got it from. But in the video u go to the other room to return it and it wouldn't let me in the room to return it that shows in the video so i thought I messed up lol actually all I had to do was put the statue back in the same room

Forgot bag of salt because i thought i could use my salt in toolbelt, also i brouth normal loggs instead of willow. But once that got sorted out it went like a walk in the park ! That pit makes me want to run over the whole Jagex team like Darry ran over the Monster in Jeepers Creepers. Like, whoevers bright idea it was like 6 years ago to make the agility low; but the percentage to pass it just as low might actually need a helmet. Edit: ANNNND this quest doesn't even need agility to play..... like bruh, they need to rework what they already have, especially questing.

Solved.. there's a rock directly north east of the tent where the wanderer was, you can enter th rock apparently ro re enter the city.. hope no one else turned this into a 2 hour quest also

great video, wouldnt have been able to do the quest without it......such a dogshit quest, back n forth n back n forth n back n forth made even more annoying with failing the pit jump over and over again among other annoyances

Failed the very first pit jump 9 times. God help me.
I failed the first one 4 times and the second one 3 times, but naturally I make the jump back both times.

Just a tip for failing obstacles. You can use the site footed aura and not fail. It’s worked for this quest and underground pass so far for me.

Wear silver hawk boots and get feathers thru buying keys or buying from GE. Got me to 99 agility in a little under 5-6 months
