To this day, the older child, who 10 years later, is now out of care, will not speak to anyone from Social Services - not one. He sees them all as betrayers, because they had promised him he would not be separated from his mum. P.S: during the saga, I witnessed a young social worker, who was yet to be married and without kids, lecturing my family member on the way to bring up children!! Example: the social worker's solution to bullying at school was to urge the child to extend their hand forward, palm upwards, like a policeman, towards the bully and declare, "stop! you are making me feel uncomfortable". Yeah, that will stop the bully, for sure! Are these people living in the real world? I defy any social worker to come to my doorstep and lay down the law....they would not be happy with my response(s). It is my belief that 99% of them are utterly useless. I don’t think there were religious sensitivities at play at all. This was a huge unacceptable system failure. This should have never been allowed to happen but happens again and again and again because we have too many selfish and incompetent people who do not care in positions of trust and authority!!!!
Religion has everything to do it. In an ideal world there would be no need for social services because everyone would bring their kids up in the right way and they turn out to be moral upstanding citizens who contribute to society. But the world isn't like that.
His treatment of his daughter reads like something a pow would receive. My guess is he was high on something and followed a violent interpretation of Islam.

Few minutes into this discussion and I’m appalled at the steer of Alex. Case is pure and simple an evil heinous child abuse and wicked murder case. England should ban child smacking and teach children their rights and they don’t because half of the adults in England will be convicted. Also the guy is right - the step-mother was not wearing a hijab and the poor mixed race child was the only person in the family was and home schooled- the social workers should be sacked.
