Nobody said you have to choose for only Linux or windows. You can also make a dualboot (which I did in the beginning, because I had some games in windows). Now I actually game pretty much in Linux. There are actually pretty good games available for Linux.

Windows 10 is good. If you like Windows 8, Windows 10 is Windows 8 with a lot of new features that better the experience and some settings that will make it just like Windows 10.
