I definitely have some theories about where the next three are going (especially with Brake's character) so I'm interested to see if I'll be correct or not!
The original movie is already a pile of crap but this one is even worse. You don’t have any taste and you don’t know what a good horror movie is, you fool.🤣👌🏻
I liked the film, critics are being wayyyyyyy to harsh on this film. It’s got 16% percent but it’s no where near that bad. This is why I don’t trust critics with horror films.
This movie is literally just a copy of the original movie, but worse. It’s literally an exact copy, beat by beat, to the point where I was not shocked by what happened in the end because it literally happens in the original. 1. Instead of the couple being on the verge of a breakup, the couple are happy and talking about marriage. 2. One of the strangers asks for Tamara, “Is Tamara home?” 3. The boyfriend leaves for 20 minutes, leaving the girlfriend to be terrorized by the Strangers. When the boyfriend returns, he doesn’t believe her. 4. The boyfriend has a shotgun and accidentally shoots an innocent person who he thought was a Stranger, just like in the original. 5. The couple gets tied up and the girlfriend asks, “Why are you doing this?” Dollface says, “Because you were here.” This line is from the original. They stab the boyfriend to death and stab the girlfriend, but she lives. With how much they were copying, I wasn’t even shocked at the end. There’s nothing wrong with rebooting and remaking a movie, but they literally just copied and pasted the original movie.
It’s part 1 so can’t be surprised that it’s essentially a remake… they’ve set a plot now to add a tone in the next two, thought it was a great start imo
I’m never gonna live that stuckmann comment down 😂😂 love ya guys. I’m going to see this tomorrow and have been seeing it not being received so well but I’m glad to hear you say there’s at least some redeeming qualities cuz I was so excited for this movie haha
I feel like once the rest of the trilogy releases, this film will be more well received! I’m seeing it Sunday and am appalled about how negative people have been about it on Twitter. I was like, “wow, you either hate it or like it and there’s no in between 😬”. But I’m going to see it optimistically and see if I dig it!
This won’t be the cult classic you think it’ll be. I really wanted to like it because the first two movies are my favorites, but I left the theater so annoyed. The movie has no charm, and it’s not bad enough to the point that it’s entertaining.
This and Chris Stanley are the only positive reviews I’ve seen for this movie. Unfortunately I won’t get to watch it for probably another 2 weeks because of work, and my cousin’s graduation, but my expectations are so low for this movie that it can’t possibly disappoint.
I enjoyed it. Was it spectacular? not really. It didn't do anything off the wall, but I'm definitely excited to see what they do in the next 2 films. Also, the mid credit scenes.. I'm kinda sorta unsure about those.
Yeah, this one didn't really get it done, but I think a lot depends on how long you've been a horror fan. 1) I thought requiring someone to have asthma as a key plot point was over in the 90s. But here we are, making sure the inhaler is front and center at least 3 times if you include the beginning when we're introduced to it. 2) The old cabin was so creaky that the sounds made were kind of front and center at times. You couldn't even lift a butt cheek to break wind without at least three floorboards groaning. Unless you were a Stranger. In THAT case, you move completely silently right up to people and the building doesn't make a sound. 3) The "I know I SHOULD do this as quickly as possible, but let's take another 20 seconds so something can happen that upsets that plan" trope. A LOT. That all said, it was done fine. The performances and pretty much everything else were solid. It was just lazy, lacked creativity and as such was kind of insulting. But that may be because I've seen hundreds of these movies. If you're a horror fan in your early 20s or generally stay away from the genre, you might find this to be very good, so I'll still give it a borderline recommend. I WILL see the sequels. In for a penny and whatnot. But I don't expect better - just maybe some answers. They were all filmed at the same time, I believe, so there won't be any adjustments made in response to criticism. This is not really a franchise. I think they basically just broke up one large story into three films. OR ... maybe the director knew this was an option and simply shot one film as long as he wanted, realized he could break it up into 3 parts and just wrote a few transitions to tidy things up. Take care.
Loved your review! I haven't seen it yet but wanted to get some feedback as I may like the feel of it too - I liked that you pointed that out. I'm happy with the usual ingredients that make up a 'Strangers' movie.
Shoukd have done a strangers 3 , possibly a story about the start of the three killers , or a 3rd movie taking place after Prey at night with sack head surviiving and is now burnt face , wears a sack still bit is almost super natural. They could have made this killer a legend and maybe even one day be as popular as Freddy , Jason , Myers , I would have made Sackhead more super natural.
I mean isn’t this trilogy meant to explain how the three killers came to be?! I do think the chick that dropped them at the house is one of the killers, I’d be shocked if she isn’t
I'm seeing it tonight so I hope it does well. Could it be kind of predictable? Sure but what horror movie isn't? At least most of them are predictable. Anyway, I hope I'll enjoy it :) P.S. I think Madelaine is a great actress and I'm glad she's branching out of Riverdale. She's so wonderful at being scared. Made me feel that she's actually afraid.
@@WeWatchedAMovie I thought it was good and I can understand that it's a reboot but with a different ending. The OG, as you know, ended with them both being dead(If you didn't count the end credit with her scaring the cops as she woke herself up alive)but in this one, the girl wakes up in the hospital and clearly wanting revenge. I know there's a second and third movie with the same actress so I'm curious how it's going to go
I feel they should have dived a little further into the next film, then the post credit scenes.I felt like I just watched a retelling of the first movie done slightly different.I didn’t even know they were going to dive more into the lore. That makes this movie for me a lot better. It wasn’t bad,but It felt too much like the original.I hope the next two chapters are way different. Now if I never seen the original, this would have been way better lol.
I still have hope that the next 2 chapters will be good and bring something good to the table. This film sadly takes a lot of beats from the original film. I wasn't really a fan of the 2008 film, but i did enjoy Prey at Night, which is why i don't love Chapter 1.
I went in with such low expectations based on what I was hearing and the fact that the original is one of my top horror movies. But it honestly wasn’t that bad. If you watch this without the seeing the original I imagine it’s so much better. But still a weird move to redo the OG
It was average to me. A nice 6/10 imo. I don't think it was that bad like people are making it out to be. I remember people did the same thing with Prey at Night. As much as I love the original Strangers, Kristen & James weren't flawless characters. They were high-key dumb asf. When you go back and watch it, they didn't really put up a good fight. They pretty much were letting the mask trio toss them around like rag dolls lol. I know people can't stand Prey at Night either, but at least the siblings in that movie actually put up a good fight and ended coming up on top by killing them at the end. I can't wait for chapters 2 & 3. I definitely feel like they're going to be better. But yeah, it's just so weird to me whenever people complain about characters in horror movies doing dumb things, when literally every horror movie that exist has characters doing dumb things.
They definitely were. The writing was thin af in the original. And the same people complaining about this reboot are the ones remembering the OG to be way better than what it was.
@77Creation I love the OG, but it definitely has its flaws. Tbh, a lot of beloved horror movies have flaws. The thing is, people love to be biased and ignore the issues in them.
I really enjoyed this movie, the strangers chapter 2 will be giving Halloween 2 vibes where she’s running and fighting for her life in the hospital after recovery…
Hear Me Out: This movie is more than meets the eye. Think about the lines being said. The same things going on from the original. Theory: Brian is from that town. Has a past his girlfriend doesn’t know about. And I believe chapter 2 will keep showing shots that were omitted from chapter 1. That’s how we find out the strangers became the strangers. Maybe it’s a reach but I don’t think so. I think we just want the pay off in the same movie but there is definitely more into the plot than we think.
It’s a slasher flick, it’s generic dumb fun, I got what I wanted from it, my only worry is how the sequels are gonna go, I hope they don’t give a grand explanation that this is some large conspiracy, with how much attention they draw to the small town being weary of outsiders, it’s either a massive red herring or it’s gonna be some massive conspiracy that everyone’s in on
I personally liked this movie! not the best in the franchise but I enjoyed it! The cinematography and lighting and the masks were so cool ! So slashy My opinion people don’t come for me 😂
I went to go see it just now so I’m jumping around to reviews. I liked it. I paid for some strangers action and I got it. It’s one of my favorite horror franchises so I’m just happy to have more. I didn’t have the same experience with the end cause I don’t watch trailers really and that’s a rule I totally stick to for horror movies and especially one like this I’m actually interested in. They just ruin way too much so I’d advise everyone to stop watching trailers. Just read a premise if you need to but it’s fun to just always go to things blind based off the title, poster and who’s in it maybe
I just didn't feel like they gave enough to the female leads character. I'm just honestly not all that interested in her or seeing where her story goes. And the director has already spoiled that she'll live through the next two movies. No point in being scared for her character at any point!
I like it. People saying the jump scares are to many, but I dont even call those jump scares. Like when he was in the sit just sitting there didn't feel like it was suppose to be a jump scare to me for some reason. Maybe it's because I was looking around for the "jump scare" lol. The movie music chose will always be freaking a1, God lord. Tht song they played at the end was a master piece. They really know how to pick the music. It has some problems, but I dont think its as trash as people really making it to be. A 6-10 is good for this movie maybe a 7 for me, but im super was to the strangers franchise, I love it so much especially preay a night
Regardless of all the hate the critics are giving this movie im still excited to see it tonight. I just know there’s no way this movie is as bad as some people are saying it is or close to even being the worst movie of the year. You’re telling me its worst than night swim, imaginary, and madame web?? VERY hard to believe.
@@caitlindulas8281 despite some flaws, I thoroughly enjoyed the film. I went in knowing it’s going to be VERY similar to the og film (a lot of people missed that before watching I guess) and it was similar but also had enough different for me to not feel like I’m watch a shot for shot remake. I thought madelaines acting especially during the final scenes was amazing and im looking forward to the next chapters.
Renny Harlan’s early career is all hits pal lol. You didn’t mention “Deep Blue Sea” either! Dude fucking rules. Also the best ANOES sequel but you Swiss mention that one at least.
Just finished watching it and I'm so happy I came across this video afterwards. I was expecting too see a terrible movie that I'd barely pay attention to. I was seated the entire time and entertained.
I kept expecting Mike to take a switch and realize he was messing with us and then it into a rant on how bad it was. I mean really, this movie was so bad.
I didnt realize so many people hated this lol i didnt hate this movie tbh it was pretty okay couldve been better but ill reserve further judgment to see what they do w chapter 2
Prey at night will always be my favorite but I honestly didn’t mind this movie. I always hated liv Tyler’s character in the first one so I never really cared for the original now it was more intense than this new one but I liked the couple in this one more than the original
I didn’t watch the trailer, went in blind which I think made it more enjoyable. I did feel bored during the first half but I think as an overall movie it’s not bad. I would always choose the original over this but the reason I think this will be good is because I’m thinking once the whole trilogy is released, it will be much better to watch them in order. At least that’s what I’m hoping! I’m a little confused though because I thought this was a prequel to the original but they had iPhones & push star cars like 🤣 maybe I misunderstood but I can’t wait for chapter 2. I wonder if it will be a Halloween 2 vibes in the hospital 😮 probably not but I’m excited for the second chapter. Hoping the trilogy picks up & ends up being good overall!
The Stranger’s is one of my favorite horror movies of all time! All of these spinoffs have been so disappointing but not completely awful imo. Why are you trying to make these killers so complex? The original had such a unique vibe. It was creepy and subtle… and it worked. It wasn’t an over complicated concept. Chapter 1 was trying to replicate the original without capturing any of the magic. As a fan of the three horror villains of this franchise, it was cool for a moment to see them get a cool “final boss” entrance but the moment wasn’t worth sacrificing that subtly creepy vibe of the OG film
Critics will always be critics and unhappy about everything I watched it 2 days ago in cinemas I enjoyed every second of it I’m actually surprised they made something that good in this era of shit everything movies and music and everything in between.
Rotten Tomatoes is a terrible system. If you look at most of the reviews for the Apes movie they are people literally saying it is barely average and yet the score would make you think its an Oscar film.
Glad to hear positive things! Lee @drumdums and Jason@SinisterCinemaReviews both took a massive dump on this film!!!! Yet both ❤ halloween ends! Lol. The irony. Also I ❤ Richard (DOOM-HEAD) Brake!!!!!!
I loved it I don’t care what critics say I loved it I prefer this over prey at knight I really do I love the hell out of this movie to me I didn’t see this as a beat for beat remake it did quite a bit diffenret and the chair scene was quite a bit longer in the new one and different
Fucking prey at night was so good this one was just okay but it did make excited for chapter 2 and 3. I think Richard brake is sac head because why else would he be in this triogly Mike?
This one was ok I felt it dragged a bit to much it felt 2 hours when it was only and hour and a half not scary at all definitely a fan of the original I loved it and even prey at night was good as well I give this one a 6/10
So much better than given credit for. People were saying it’s the worst Directed film they’ve seen in years but I don’t know what the fuck they saw because I thought this film was well constructed. The characters are dumb and make dumb decisions but if you’ve seen the original they’re easily the dumbest characters I’ve seen in a horror film in a very long time lol. Like your first horror movie kind of dumb lol.
Thanks for watching! Here's another video about The Strangers history: ruclips.net/video/DOwWipZXlQ4/видео.htmlsi=UHsKdcVHw-B_cwm0

VERY hard to believe.
haha its definitely better than all three of those movies put together on steroids
So how was it?
That's what's up.
I'm having joy in watching my favorite content creators crap all over the this garbage film!
Renny Harlan’s early career is all hits pal lol. You didn’t mention “Deep Blue Sea” either! Dude fucking rules. Also the best ANOES sequel but you Swiss mention that one at least.
I think ill wait on this one for streaming but im so excited for in a violent nature movie looks like its going to be awesome.
Movie was horrible I give it 3 stars
Is it great? No. Is it worth streaming? Yes.
Just finished watching it and I'm so happy I came across this video afterwards. I was expecting too see a terrible movie that I'd barely pay attention to. I was seated the entire time and entertained.
Yoo!!! I FUCKING LOVE the outro! Roger Jackson is the man!
Glad that you liked it more than me. I thought it was awful and I had high hopes since I love the original
Here's hoping we both like the sequel!
Where has jay been?
In every live stream. Every week.
I LOVED it actually it felt fresh somehow while still being a tribute to the original ❤
I kept expecting Mike to take a switch and realize he was messing with us and then it into a rant on how bad it was. I mean really, this movie was so bad.
I think Richard Brake is the axe man. I've got an interesting theory on what I think might be taking place.
I think a lot of people could watch her walk around the house smoking a joint for an hour and a half…
I agree with this commentary
I didnt realize so many people hated this lol i didnt hate this movie tbh it was pretty okay couldve been better but ill reserve further judgment to see what they do w chapter 2
Prey at night will always be my favorite but I honestly didn’t mind this movie. I always hated liv Tyler’s character in the first one so I never really cared for the original now it was more intense than this new one but I liked the couple in this one more than the original
I actually dug it. It has some issues, but I’m looking forward to part 2.
Stoked for part 2!
Same.
Can’t wait for you to react to my 5 horror movies once they come out
who is tamra???
I honestly don’t see how it remaking but a anthology type situations that are similar
Critics will always be critics and unhappy about everything I watched it 2 days ago in cinemas I enjoyed every second of it I’m actually surprised they made something that good in this era of shit everything movies and music and everything in between.
There’s so many different opinions on this movie. Crazy how different each perspective is.
this movie absolutely kicked ass it was awesome once again rotten tomatoes has no idea what the fuck they're talking about as per usual.
Rotten Tomatoes is a terrible system. If you look at most of the reviews for the Apes movie they are people literally saying it is barely average and yet the score would make you think its an Oscar film.
this film was 🗑️.
6 that's generous
Just watched it. Accurate to me.
The film didn’t nothing new. They just needed to make a sequel but I get why they didn’t, want to see some answers to who these people are.
I'm gonna wait until they all come out
I loved it I don’t care what critics say I loved it I prefer this over prey at knight I really do I love the hell out of this movie to me I didn’t see this as a beat for beat remake it did quite a bit diffenret and the chair scene was quite a bit longer in the new one and different
Was it gory?
Not a bit
Will WWAM be doing a stream for Deadpool 3 or a review video like this?
No idea yet! But probably will do a spoiler stream
Filmmakers are really running out of original ideas. everything is an Remake, now..
Love your channel.
Thank you! Holy shit that's Travis Barker there in your picture!
Thank you for starting with that, this remake seems pointless.
This film was Trash. Lacked tension.
Nowhere near the 2008 version.
And honestly one of the dumbest fucking protagonists I’ve seen in a very long time.
Why doesn't Jay appear regularly anymore?
J is on the livestreams every week
Holy shit, it was freaky! I loved it!
Fucking prey at night was so good this one was just okay but it did make excited for chapter 2 and 3. I think Richard brake is sac head because why else would he be in this triogly Mike?
I think there might be something funky with that whole town!
I enjoyed the film and looking forward to the next one...how i compare chapter one to the original...its same same but different
I like Chris but more of a Jermey Jahns guy
The main actress did a better job than Liv Tyler I’d argue with people too.
Love the Mica comparison of the boyfriend lmao. Perfect.
Stop it Mike
This movie was pure ass.
Enjoyed it.
The boyfriend was USELESS
he did almost nothing of value lol
When Ryan got the shotgun I was In there theatre also I yelled THIS IS AMERICA XDDD
