- Hi, I'm Darak from LIV Watch, in this video, I'll talk about oil-filled watches, enjoy.
Shout out to Rag Man, this is what he found out, "found a forum with comments about the Sinn watch. Apparently, they used silicon oil originally, but it made the white hands/lume turn yellow over time. Now they use a 3M product called Fluorinert™️. It's used to stabilize the temp in electronics. Changing temp can cause expansion and pop the crystal out."
Here's a page for this product, you can get a small amount on eBay.

This "aftermarket mod" won't work on automatic watches, because of the balance wheel, it needs to spin freely, the oil friction is too high, watch manufactures might have an automatic oil filled watch, I believe they seal off the dial camber to able to do this.
