Pakistan wants to be THE PUREST nation. To get there, they have to get rid of all the shia, ahamadia, hazara, Hindu, christian and not-so-pure sunni muslims...!!! What this means is that expressing religious beliefs will be prosecutable for anyone who is not Muslim, because Jesus dying on the cross is offensive. Mohammed ordered the murder of many people who publicly mocked him or called him a fraud. Poets were very popular in Arabia and were a prime target for Mohammed. Personally I think we should abolish the blasphemy law completely. it is not even Islamic neither the early Caliphs of Islam not the latter Sultans of the Muslim world so why should we have them now?
Sharia courts in the UK have no power over the law. Also their judgements are not binding, unless both parties agree to this, a bit like Judge Judy. Saying that, I don't think there should be any kind of religious courts, & they should be banned. Halal & Kosher slaughterhouses have always been legal in the UK, & mistreatment of farm animals is not just a muslim thing. Bernard Mathews did a lifetime of that.
