Looking at Molecules: The electron cryo-microscopy revolution at the MRC LMB

LMB scientists have been and continue to be at the forefront of the field of electron cryo-microscopy, developing a technique which allows biological molecules to be visualised at the atomic level.
Some of our researchers describe how this technique was developed, how it works, and how they are continuing to improve and use it.
In 2017 the LMB’s Richard Henderson won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, along with Jacques Dubochet and Joachim Frank, for ‘developing cryo-electron microscopy for the high-resolution structure determination of biomolecules in solution’.

I'm a software developer (and very amateur scientist) working on an information management system for cryo EM... desperately trying to get a handle on what's actually going on in the lab... .... .... they use Relion at work for the actual processing.... so cool to see fltk in use again..
