Good video thanks. Fresh content - no rehash from all the other channels. And honestly? Proof that you know what you are doing (unlike the many other channels) 42123 has bas S/D stats according to my research. The Dragon is golden indeed. But buying at MSRP? The other sets? Whow...clearly not hoarded 😮
Thanks. I do a lot of research and due diligence before making any video. I don't like opening my mouth if I can't stand behind what I'm saying. Glad you find it makes good content!
Maybe! What are you seeing that I'm not? The HP theme strikes me as a weak performer. Are you thinking modular/city people will want it for an apartment flat?
Generally agree with the HP theme but this one is not like all the other boring sets. The hidden functionality is great, the general look of the building is IMO very nice It was also almost never discounted anywhere It could go in a city MOC yes The Kreature minifig My two favourite boxes to look at are this one and the razor crest. Just two amazing sets in terms of build for me
Here in Australia, Amazon has the Ninjago 71774 at a 41% discount coming from Japan. I’ll take a punt on three or four of them. Not too many eBay sellers for this one down here, but mostly above retail. Your opinion, since I prefer to go deep rather than wide. If you had to choose: This one at a 41% discount or the Tallneck at 25% off? 🤔
Easy choice! If the Australian market is anything like the US, I would take the 71774 at 41% in a heartbeat over the Tallneck at 25%. I'd buy 50 at that price if I could.
Imo, Manu and Barcelona brickheadz are hugeee sleepers considering the fanbase. 500+ pieces allowing u to build different characters + actual printed official logos of clubs and adidas one on manchaster shirt. These are exclusive for LEGO and idk about US, but in EU it’s already marked as a last chance.
They're just really expensive so it's quite a risk because I feel like the Lego audience and football audience doesn't really intertwine unless it's kids but usually the people who are paying for these sets in the after market are adult collectors. Personally I wouldn't consider them because of that not to mention I don't know much about football leagues. Maybe if they went on a good sale I'd get one.
@@RCmies I get it. I think it also depends on the market and region. I don’t think they will as good in US as in the Europe since the football/soccer popularity is hugely different. Thank you for your opinion!
I managed to grab a couple of the cranes from Amazon for $21 a piece. There was a special where ordering two of the items on a list got you a $10 discount. So two at 25.99 got it down to 20.99 a piece.
After watching your video I picked up 6 sets of that dragon (I liked it to start but never pulled trigger) after shipping and fees I ended up paying just slightly below retail (not much but a few bucks)... I see on brickset the lowest is almost $250! But I think on ebay its available now maybe $180-190, have other similar dragons in past shot up this fast or is this a benefit to us being in Q4 at moment? Im hesitant on ninjago stuff because of lower demand than star wars and such
Brickset pulls prices from Bricklink, so if you want a more complete picture on a set, check price guide on BL. The 75316 was selling $100-120 earlier this summer. Now it goes for $70-80. Another example is the 76903 Corvette. Last Q4 it was selling $40-55, then for most of 2023 it dropped to $30-35. The zombie stock is now cleared out on Amazon so I'm curious if it will crash down again after this Q4. I suspect Ninjago might be best suited to selling on Amazon.
I bought that gold dragon the other day on Amazon. Not for investment but because I actually liked the look of it. $140 AU and only 12% claimed as part of their Black Friday sale. Doesn’t seem all that popular
Strange! It is certainly a niche interest that will appeal to fewer buyers than say Star Wars. But don't confuse low sales volume for lack of interest. It seems at least in the US, buyers are willing to pay 30-60% over retail. The Australian market must be different or that BF deal would be selling out within a day.
I am amazed just how many people are buying lego for future investments, i tend to buy it to build, i know if i do sell any in the future, i would get a good amount of my money back, but not all, due to opening them. The thing is, with so many people doing this, i can only see future prices being lower.
I first got interested in LEGO as a kid back in 2005. I've remained a fan and builder all my life, only now as an adult I also invest in the products I love as a side business. You're definitely right that the crowded market will affect prices. There are still ways to make it worthwhile.
Man i was so hesitant on the golden dragon and since i'm just starting lego investement i didn't want to take a chance because no one was talking about it. Now that you mention it i don't feel alone anymore and want to beat myself for not buying it at 80€ when i could its out of stock everywhere today
It's ok to pass up opportunities you aren't sure about. Especially if you're just starting out and working with limited capital. Pick your pitches. Use your capital on the grand slams only. NFA. Thanks for watching
100% agree with the Ninjago dragon, so under the radar and was only discounted to 20% off a few times. My plan was to pick up as many of these as I could when Honey ran exclusive rewards during LEGO GWPs, but it sold out so early, I only got one 😔 Personally not going for it at MSRP, but would love to have some more at a good discount!

The graphs in this video came from CamelCamelCamel

Golden Dragon…
I know right! I'm thinking of making a follow up video to this one, but want to let enough time pass.

Cool sets to get! I was able to get LEGO Ninjago Lloyd's Golden Ultra Dragon 71774, for 130$ last month. Too bad I didn't get a higher quantity. lol
You'll be wishing you picked up more of that Dragon! That's a solid deal for a set like this that is scarcely discounted.
I know, I wasn’t fast enough. Keep up the good work!
What is your opinion of the ninjago hydrobounty set for investing
It seems to be selling well near its MSRP. It may take a long time to ever see it at $300-400 though...

Lego Tulips are going well above MSRP on EBay and other sites and they’re STILL 40% off on Lego.
I just picked some of those up. Not sure how you would scale efficiently though to pick up 100 or 1000 units.
What's up with the tulips? Are there some exclusive pieces or why are they so popular?
Solid material! Saw this a couple days after posting and most of these sets are sold out.
That's the worst, seeing as it usually takes me a few days to edit and put out a video.
Love your content uk

To each their own! Wise pick up at 20% on your part. I'm curious to see where that set is in 3-5 years.
