I'm late to the party here, but I just bought a 2017 Lexus NX Turbo so naturally I found your video. Amazing, fantastic content. I really appreciated it and I want to thank you for the superb level of detail. Also, no nonsense. No "pound that like button", no dumb jokes, no ADD jump cuts. Just pure, professional content. Subscribed!
I have this vehicle and absolutely, undoubtedly, LOVE it. Everything about it. This is my FIRST Lexus, and it will NOT be my last. I can't say enough about how much I LOVE this vehicle!!! NO complaints AT ALL!!
My son sent me this video since I just purchased the NX200t yesterday. I enjoyed the video and was quite useful. I hate reading the entire manual so having the tutorial was wonderful. Thank you!
I am debating on purchasing one very soon as well. How is the gas on the car by the way? I am a bit excited because i keep debating on this one and the RX 350
Anyone looking at one of these, don't hesitate. Absolutely beautiful vehicle (pics and videos don't due it justice) Drives like a dream, and she looks as sleek and new as any current SUV or car on the road next to you while driving
I literally just watched this whole thing to find out what the little cubby under the arm rest below the infotainment dial was. I've always wanted to know what it's purpose is, and I finally know that it is a sunglass holder. My life is now complete.
Ironically enough...that SAME compartment, is what SOLD the vehicle for me. The Salesperson showed me that mirror and compartment - which I've NEVER seen in any other vehicle before - and I was like, "SOLD!!!"
Extremely detailed review of every aspect of this vehicle! Thank you for taking the time to make this it is a massive help in deciding which vehicle I want to go with next.
I've owned a 2015 for 2 years and I really enjoy it. One thing he missed, or I missed in the video, is the ability to adjust and set the side mirrors for when you are in reverse. Typically tilted down. I did get a better understanding of the brake hold feature.
I drove the nx200t for a night out on the town tonight. It handled really well. Good turning radius. A little stiff on speed bumps, but not bad. Comfy seats. One thing that was surprising, though, was that i had to hit my seat memory button when re-entering the car, in order to move into my personalized settings. This is because the seat lowers and retracts to ease exiting from the car, then remains in that position to ease entrance. The situation makes sense. I just was more accustomed to returning to a car with my personalized settings already in place. I think that i am going to LOVE this car! It looks very big, and is roomy inside, but according to the dealer rep, the NX200t is smaller than my GS350. I won't be sitting in the rear seats much, but i love the reclining feature of the back seats. Much more comfortable. Without the recline feature, the rear seats feel more like a bench.
Once I select my settings unless someone else has used with his/her setting it keeps in the memory I don't have to re select every time I drive if it is in my selection
Surprisingly, it took me so many years of owning it before I stumbled upon this video. The explanation is really detailed. Subscribing to this channel now. After some modifications, this car actually handles quite well. It's like a fun car for everyday use. I'll continue upgrading this great car.
I only just discovered your RUclips site with this review. I've owned several Lexus vehicles for nearly 10 years. I'm looking to downsize sometime this fall and this NX is on my radar. I've recently driven a 2016 for a day or so and was quite impressed. This video highlighted all of the features I also discovered during my time with it. I'm subscribing to your site and look forward to your future offerings. I like your style, young man. Great job!
WOW! Thank you so much for the kind words and for the sub!!! I am so excited about bringing more videos for you and I hope you will continue to contribute to the conversation. When the time comes, I could help you with finding the right vehicle and even sell it to you! If you have any further questions feel free to email me at brockfrady@gmail.com. Thanks again and I truly appreciate your kind words. Brock
Excellent video. I have the 2015 and love it. It replaced my 2010 Acura MDX which is my wife's car now. I also loved it but it was just costing me too much in fuel due to my increased driving for work. I didn't even know about the brake hold until I watched your video. It is actually a nice feature. As for efficiency, I actually averaged 30mpg + multiple times on longer drives. Nice job on the video and your attention to the details.
Awesome review......... Our Lease is ending on my 2015 IS 250. We are torn between another IS, or moving on to the NX 200T. The little ones are getting bigger and that is a small consideration. I think your phenomenal showcasing of the NX 200T has sealed the deal for us.....Thank you for being an awesome resource....
Great review! I've had my 2017 NX200t for three months now and even I learned a few new things watching this video. It is a fun car, and you are right about the NuLuxe--it looks and feels better than the leather in many cars.
I just bought a 2015 a few days ago, and I love it. It was a replacement for my 2015 ES350 that I adored but that got hit and rolled over. One tip: Some of these have a defective nav screen that looks sort of like it has little scratches or something smeared all over it. It's bad anti-glare coating. Mine had it. Per a commenter suggestion, I scrubbed it with a microfiber cloth and isopropyl alcohol. It took an hour and a half, but I fixed it. Somebody else mentioned using acetone. I suspect that might have been way faster, but I was too afraid of damaging it to use that.
AWESOME! I know you're going to LOVE it! The NX is such a fun vehicle to get out and just drive. Fast, extremely comfortable seats, and easy-to-use infotainment. Thank you for the feedback and Enjoy the ride! Brock
Just got mine this weekend. So in love! I had the IS 2012 and 2015 and wanted something different. I recommend the auto back door. Back seat insanely comfortable.
EXCELLENT! I am so glad you LOVE it! Don't hesitate to let me know if you ever have any questions about the features. I was very surprised with how roomy the back seat is, especially for people over 6ft. Enjoy the ride! Brock
I have now read the manual. The exterior car lights DO have an Auto switch for the headlights and everything. The setting dial has a little dash on it, and that is what one uses to select a setting, such as headlights on, or auto. Given that the dial is under/in back of the steering wheel, the whole thing is hard to see. So, i stood outside the car with the door open, in order to see the dial and settings clearly, after reading the manual.
I agree with you, that Auto switch is a little hard to see if you aren't familiar with it. I'm SO glad that Lexus offers the NX now. I think this vehicle fills a PERFECT segment for us who want SUV capability with a feisty turbocharged engine and yet it still drives like a Lexus! I know you'll LOVE it! Thank you so much for the feedback!!! Brock
Thank you for this video. I've recently purchased an NX, and there were a few things I was curious about and your video covered most of it. Only thing left out was the button that cuts off or turns on the air flow to the back seats, but I guess I can try to figure this out by trying it myself. Overall great review! And the NX is awesome!
YES!! YES!! If you figure it out, PLEASE post!! I've been trying to figure this out myself. I'm pretty sure it's in the manual, but...that thing is HUGE
EXCELLENT tip! Thank you for the contribution and please be sure to leave any other useful tips as you come across them! Thanks again and Enjoy the ride! Brock
1. What does the 'Auto' button next to the Park button do? 2. What does shifting from 'D' to 'M' do on the transmission? I know it changes from automatic to manual, but why would anyone do that? What's the advantage?
Wow, thank you so much for this awesome, very detailed video. I’m looking to buy one and I couldn’t find any videos that would go in depth like you did, thank you so much for taking the time to doing this. Much appreciated!! 👍🏼
I'll be picking up my 2015 certified NX 200T (17,000 miles) in a couple of days. Thank you for your very thorough review. I know there might be some changes between 2015 and 2017 but I believe most of the features are the same. I want to be somewhat familiarized with everything before the salesman goes through everything with me.
EXCELLENT! Thank you for the compliments and I am SO glad this was helpful for you! Please feel freee to email me if you ever have any questions about your Lexus - brockfrady@gmail.com. I think you might know more than the salesman when you go to pick it up! Brock
really detailed vid. i'm working on getting my mom one. she's got a 2011 is250 and wants to sit higher now. glad to know there's good leg room in back. i'm 6'1" and the IS is just cramped front and back.
The IS250 is a little tight for us 6 footers! I know your Mom would love it if she has an IS250 - the NX is like the SUV version of the IS model. If she does get one then you might want to let her know about this video. Thank you for the feedback and Enjoy the Ride! Brock
I helped her buy one. it's really so much better than an IS. Only issue I felt the headroom was a little tight in front especially with the moonroof. Got the Fsport because it looks better and the ride is still better than the IS. She's a happy camper.
Great review! The NX200t is a very style forward vehicle with tons of angles and contrasting creases! I recently reviewed one of these and I greatly enjoyed how nice the interior and how striking the exterior was. You did such a great job of showcasing the NX200t's features. Keep up the great work! -DriveAndBeDriven "The Quest To Record The Best!"
HowToCarGuy Thanks so much and no problem! You deserve a whole lot more subscribers than you have! I will definitely be subscribing to your channel! -DriveAndBeDriven "The Quest To Record The Best!"
Thank you for the video! I watched the video to try and understand the headlight situ. I am used to the Lexus automatic headlights which are always left in auto position, and turn on and off as needed, presumably using light sensors. I just bought the 2017 NX200t today and it required me to turn off the headlights manually. I have been driving Lexus cars with that auto headlight feature for 20 years so am worried that i am going to forget about the headlights. You said that there was an auto day running lights mode, but is there no auto headlight mode? Thanks for your advice !
Great review! Couple questions...A review by Consumer Reports states they have some concern about the blind spot safety...particularly on the right...due to the bit more closer design/smaller right rear window opening. Do you agree? The flashing/beeping lights on the right front mirror could help-and if so are they standard? Also they said the flat control/"mouse" pad is a bit difficult to manipulate particlarly when driving. Can this car also take regular gas? Maybe not due to the turbo engine...and if not, the better gas mileage (than the 2012 RX350 that I currently have) may make up for that...Thanks!
This is such useful information. The book is huge! But I wish I had seen this before I bought my used 2017 Base NX 200t. I would have realized that Audi dealership in NJ was cheating me out of the Tonneau board cover, and a few other things. I also don't have those 4 sensors in the front & back so apparently parking assist isn't standard to have the safety feature. :(
Based on these reviews. I bought a used lexus, am not against it. But, a great factor is frontal collision, i was in a accident. Realized there was no automatic breaking system( FCS). I lost the value of the car in few seconds. So, if you have a little more money spent it a car with fcs. 2017 Canadian models doesn't have a fcs, so please check before you buy one...
FANTASTIC review!! I was wondering...for the NX200t...is the BSM a standard? Or is that an option where I have to pay extra to get it? And also...regarding the back door...(because I am only 5'2)...is there a control where the door will stop going up so I can reach it to close it? Thank you.
Thank you for the feedback! Blind Spot Monitor is an option but I have found that it is on many of the NX models we see coming in. The power rear door does have a setting to customize the opening height. You may set it to exactly the right position for your height! 1. Open the door and allow it to open all the way. 2. Press the button on the bottom of the door to close it. 3. When the door lowers to the proper height for you - tap the same button again and the door will stop. 4. Press and hold the same button and wait for about 2 seconds and you will hear a beep to confirm that the height has been memorized. The door will now open to that height every time! I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any other questions and Enjoy your Ride! Brock
Thanks for the Video I have a 2016 but have most of the features you described. Very detailed nice presentation may I ask how can I fold the outside mirrors I have a 2016 NX200T
That's wonderful! I am so glad my video helped you! To fold the mirrors you will have to push them in manually. Just push the mirror toward the vehicle until it folds in. You may have to apply some pressure. Thanks for the feedback! Brock
Well done and comprehensive review. I like the part on how Lexus addressed the tail light gaps between the quarter panels and the lift gate. Details like that differentiate a luxury brand.
Excellent Presentation! please make videos showing the difference between the Base/Essential, Premium, Luxury and Ultra Luxury of the ES 350, RX 350 , IS 200t and NX 200 t and their Hybrid Versions. The GS, and all the other Models if possible. Thank you very much Freddy Brock "How to Car Guy"
+MILLIONAIRE/BILLIONAIRE MANIFESTING WEALTH/MONEY Thank you so much for the kind words and positive feedback! I also appreciate your request and I'll get to work on that. You can Check out my "Lexus" playlist on my RUclips channel page for videos I've done on several if the models you listed. Thanks again and stay tuned! Brock www.howtocarguy.com
Is there just one reservoir for windshield washer fluid? I refilled the reservoir under the hood today but can't get any fluid to flow on the back window when I try to clean there. Front window is alright.
I can't wait till my mom gets the Lexus NX Its going to be great! Question? Does it have an option that you can't have the shift paddle and also does the trunk go all the way?
Very disappointed that the SCOUTS navigation is NO LONGER available. There is no way to even upgrade the navigation!!! If anyone else knows please help!! Thank you.
Thank you for the review! love the car just purchased a used 2017 nx200t,, previous leased , many of the important feature are not implemented ,like sensors . have a question before I go the dealer, I get a message that maintenance is required soon and shows 5105 miles,, but nothing lights up, the car has 28400 miles, I'm reading that is due for maitanance at 30000miles. should I schedule an appt ? thank you
Very helpful, thanks! I just bought a cert pre-owned '15 and am wading thru the manual, but you showed me some things I hadn't figured out yet. One "sad" note: my screen selector device is that confounded touchpad (awful!); I know why they changed to a simple knob! Also, I'm still looking for the HUD turner-onner (technical term), as I think a small mph reading on the WS would be useful.

Really like it. And Thanks for going over the many features the car
I just bought a 2015 a few days ago, and I love it. It was a replacement for my 2015 ES350 that I adored but that got hit and rolled over.

Awesome again! I can’t decide between this vehicle and the 15 RX 350🤷🏾♂️
Which one did you get ….I’m between this one and the 350 as well

My wife has this vehicle and she loves it. She does not want to upgrade to another vehicle whatsoever.
Love how detailed it was😊
Glad you liked it and thank you for the kind words!
is it expensive to maintain if i compare to toyota highlander ?
thank you for the great review. My 2017 didn't come with all the standard features you mentioned were standard.
Awesome video! Very well put together with simple and clear explanation.
You are a master at presentation.
Thank you so much! I really love making these videos. I truly appreciate your feedback, my friend!
1. What does the 'Auto' button next to the Park button do?
2. What does shifting from 'D' to 'M' do on the transmission? I know it changes from automatic to manual, but why would anyone do that? What's the advantage?

Man you're good at what you do. I'll get this for my wife.

We just might be able to work that out! You can reach me at 336-217-5400 to discuss details. Just ask for Brock Frady.

Nice review
Love the leather color
I see a "command dial"around 20 minutes into this video, unlike the mouse pad I've seen? Is this just an option?
the base models come with the knob, the touchpad is optional. the knob is actually pretty inuitive though, and easier to learn, so it’s your choice
@@LR-1977 Any idea when they are going to update this model?
Great video. Very helpful.
Great Review!! Very informative! I’m really interested in this vehicle & the rx 450h.
Great review, can you do a tutorial on navigation?
Would you review the 2017 IS350F once it comes out?
OOOHHHHHH YES, my friend!!! I can't wait for the 2017 IS350 FSport. That's gonna be fun! Stay tuned :)
HowToCarGuy Thanks! I will!
How have these held up maintenance and repair wise now? Is this as reliable as the RX 6 cyl? Any turbo issues turning up?
Top notch review. Subscribed.
We just bought one!!!!
Very informative thanks How. To CarGuy

Thanks for the feedback!

so helpfull thank you I really want this car
+Fatima Almandoos I would be happy to sell you one :-)
Well done and comprehensive review. I like the part on how Lexus addressed the tail light gaps between the quarter panels and the lift gate. Details like that differentiate a luxury brand.
I really really liked the interior colour of this car
Me too! Makes it look luxurious.
Nice video! I like it
Thank you for the positive feedback! Have a wonderful day!

Hello, can you give me the link to the app, pls?
Because it’s not leather, that’s the main reason I’m considering this car. That’s plus point.
+Raj KL Exactly! I love the fact that it's not leather. People are always shocked when they discover that it's not leather.
How much should the ideal tire pressure be? And how does calibration work?
Good job. Very help
Can we use the sam coolant for engine and trobu charge ?
what package does this specific vehicle have? Only the premium package?
Maybe the executive package
Can you get it with three seats in the back instead of two or do they all come with two only?
Does this model requires regular or premium gas?
I test drive one today
Dumb question 🙋🏼♀️ how does the automatic start work?
Excellent Presentation! please make videos showing the difference between the Base/Essential, Premium, Luxury and Ultra Luxury of the ES 350, RX 350 , IS 200t and NX 200 t and their Hybrid Versions. The GS, and all the other Models if possible. Thank you very much Freddy Brock "How to Car Guy"

Is there just one reservoir for windshield washer fluid? I refilled the reservoir under the hood today but can't get any fluid to flow on the back window when I try to clean there. Front window is alright.
Just got this and so excited! This review is well made. I learned so much. thank you!
SOLD!
Is there an SOS button with this model? I can't find it in my car.
+Ciani Sparks the SOS button should be located in the roof by your map light and sun roof controls (if equipped). It may say Safety Connect also.
Thank you.
Does the dial come with all versions or is it just in the version without navigation?
