Very very good work man. You work like a professionnal. Congratulations. I have a cb250rsz and seems to be the same motor. With your vidéos i will do it next winter. Thanks a lot for the movie
nice set of videos, im getting a xl500 next week. So very helpfull these video's . I did a full engine rebuild of the xr600, lots of similarities but loads of differences. Will need your video's :) !
I'm glad I rebuilt mine, it needed work on the final drive bushing, new connecting rod and main bearings. Also got the case blasted to remove the shit paint job
I now have a mint condition Honda xr250 love the simple bikes not like my new 2019 Beta 300 with all its modern electrics rubbish more to go wrong.Going to use my xl250s next year when its mot exempt cheers
Hey Richard! I have the same problem on my 74' XL350!! It runs great still and when I bought it no leeks, but after a summer it started leaking more and more! It's still not a heavy leak but I'm trying to figure out how to fix it! Any help or ideas?!? Is the 74 xl350 the same setup as this??
Hello Logan. I believe the 350 is an older design, one I'm not familiar with but the old Honda's are usually pretty simple. If the leak is a main output Shaft seal, it may be possible to remove without a stripdown. Other seals may have gone too. I believe there is a service manual out there for it.
I done mine easy without stripping engine cases drill tiny hole in seal self tapping screw into seal pull seal out.Push new seal in 15mins job sorted never leaked again
@@loll1974 I have the 73/74' XL350 that has started leaking oil out of what seems to be the same spot he mentions in this video! Can you help explain a little more how you did this to stop the oil leak?!? Please help!! Greatly appreciated!!!
I am watching this vid with interest as I have just taken apart a 79 model for powder coating frame and replacing all easy to reach rubber and bearings, not planning on pulling the engine apart but who knows for the future. What year is yours please?
morning Garry, more to follow soon. the bike is a 1978 model. the bike is in need of a restoration which, following a good shakedown period of the motor should be the next thing on my list.
Hi Richard, getting close to finishing my rebuild of my 1979 XL250s after the powder coating, used your videos a few times for reference and they have been really helpful. Was wondering if you could drop me an email so I could get your email address and send you a pick of a piece of plastic I have left over that’s driving me insane trying to solve. My email is cheers. Garry

does this his engine heat up real quick ?
Yes , very quickly
Where is the oil filter on these engines?
No true filter. There is. Gauze screen which is accessed by taking off the right hand engine case.
