Great job. I like that you actually let us enjoy the finished product long enough, different settings, different angles and long enough clip. Love it
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I'm glad you liked the format. Thanks for the kind words my friend!
Always a good day when Chris uploads.
Thanks as always buddy!
Damn, Chris so are we about 2yrs from a DIY led shower install? Love it 20 seconds into the video and I'm already wanting to go to Lowes.
Hahaha at this rate I would say about a year away lol. Thanks as always buddy!
Always a great video, quick and easy, love the total white interior as it makes the lights shine bright and clear. Maybe cutout a small groove on the left end where your wires go, than hid it with the top piece, allowing the wires to come out the back of the module. Love it!!!
Thanks so much for watching! That is a great idea and could easily be done. Appreciate the suggestion and thanks as always for the support!
🤯 GOOD LORD man.....that looks amazing!! I might try this to display my wife's pottery.....then I'm copying the NES display.
I DONT KNOW WHERE HE GOT HIS SKILLS FROM ??? BUT IT'S AMAZING !!!!!! BOMB DIGGITY BOMB !!!! AWESOME ....
Lol thanks so much buddy!! Appreciate the love as always!
Dude, your stuff is top of the line....
Thanks so much buddy!
OMG!!! This is SO cool!!!! This finished project will be perfect under my 120” screen! My only suggestion is not with the media shelf cause I AM DOING THIS, but with about another 30 seconds of the finished product shown at the beginning as you did at the end. That way is can further motivate those who may feel a bit intimidated by what the project entail. For me, its a reason to go to Home Depot AND to build this eye cand, win win!
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time for the great suggestion! I totally hear what your saying and might have to try making the into a little longer for some of my videos. Thanks again!!
R.I.P Stadia, you will be missed. Awesome setup btw!
hahahaha yeah it was a good couple years. Its crazy that I ready they will be refunding all purchases made. I really enjoyed it but its hard to break into the gaming space at this point. Thanks so much for watching!!
The creativity! So epic.
Thanks as always buddy!!
Just casually building, drilling and using a router for an entertainment unit in the same place it’s going in 😂. Staying comfortable. Nice build as always, keep going.
Very, very cool! 😎
Thank you Chris.
Thanks so much!!
I was thinking of using My projector to make a home theater and this has inspired me more now ! i need to find some materials get a plan of action and get it looking sweet , Thanks Chris as always
each video better than the last ;)
Thanks so much buddy! Appreciate the support!
So sick, Chris. Good job
Thanks so much buddy!
Good use of segments 👌🏼 Absolutely pro work 👍🏼 Everytime Entertainment watching your videos 👏🏼
Thanks so much buddy! Appreciate that!
Looks fantastic!!
Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks so much for watching and you are very welcome!
Thanks for sharing, really cool end result!
Maybe an idea for another time, maybe it is possible to use 3 of the backplanes and cut them next time and put the separation of them behind the wood of the individual cubes.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! That's a really good idea! I love it. Might have to try that if I do it again down the road. Thanks again!
Projector is massive
Naah man
You are too sick 🔥
Thanks so much buddy! Appreciate the kind words. Thanks so much for watching!
your work is amazing!
Thanks so much buddy! I appreciate the support and thanks for taking the time to comment!
This is badass
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Glad you like the video!
Nice job. I wish i had some of the tools at home to make this kind of job easy. love to see something like this but merged with Goove lighting to give it some control style paired to the TV.
Thanks so much for watching! Yeah that actually would be a great Idea! Just pair it up with the Dreamview and assign it the bottom of the tv zones. That would be nice looking!!
@@ChrisMaherDIY if you do it before i do, let's get it up on the channel! :D i mean i know you will. i wouldnt be surprised if you're not drawing out how you would do it.
Great work.
Where are your game consoles etc. would love to see a video on how they integrate with a minimalist look
very cool my friend!
Thanks so much buddy!
Will look for G2 here in Thailand hopefully it's available
Hopefully they will be available soon! Thanks again for taking the time to comment!
Thanks you do great things. Thinking about Integrating the G2 with our 55 inch Sony. We have a large painting hanging above television.
Thanks so much for the support!! That sounds like a great idea!! I'm sure that would look epic!
@@ChrisMaherDIY point of quandary how far does the set have to be from the wall and how close to the wall can it be. Television will be sitting on a stand
Once again great video Chris!! I have to say that you inspired me to get into my own diy wled projects and I've already done a similar project with some vertical shelves, I also divided the strip in segments but each shelf with a different effect and different color palette, actually it looked better in my head than it does in real life and I noticed your led settings looks very organic changing colors gradually I love it, would you mind sharing your settings in the wled app to create that effect???
Thanks so much for watching and i'm glad you are liking the projects and thats so cool you have built some things on your own! So my favorite settings to use is as follows. In the color section, make sure all the circles are set to off/black. Then I go into effects and choose blink. I then go back to the color section and scroll down and select from any of their pre set color pallets. Thats it! I also like to use the android effect as well using the same color pallets. Hopefully that makes sense!
Your light setup is pretty dope, but I wonder what your sound setup is like.
Thanks for watching buddy! I have an old klipsch setup. Its not top of the line by any stretch of the imagination but I think it sounds very nice!
Hey, I stumbled upon your channel and I have to say that this was something I didn't know that I wanted to see until I saw it. These products and tips will help me a lot in making our new home look awesome. But there is one thing I can't quite wrap my head around. We have a wooden staircase and I am thinking of automating it. I am pretty sure that it's a very noob question but here goes. What I wanna do is light up each step one by one from 1st step to the last(down to up) as someone climbs the first step. As I said, i know nothing about this stuff so an answer would be very helpful.
Thanks so much for watching and glad you are liking some of the videos! Thats a great question! So at some point I hope to do the same thing you are wanting to do but right now its above what I know how to do since it would require programming (i'm pretty sure it would require programming) But i've seen things like this on amazon that look amazing and honestly might be worth buying vs trying to do everything myself. Here is the link but there are a lot of different products out there like this. I would just get one that had free returns so if it did not turn out as expected you could get your money back! amzn.to/3FqsU7K
@@ChrisMaherDIY Thanks a lot🥰. Yeah i am pretty sure that it would require programming. I might have to look at some of the products on offer.
You may find this helpful:
www.instructables.com/LED-Stair-Lighting/?amp_page=true
I tried different variation of stair lights and found the best way for me was to install a diffused strip on each side of the stair case and trigger them with PIR sensors (one at the top and one at the bottom).
When triggered, the lights turn on in sequence (like a “flow”), stay lit for 3 minutes and then automatically turn off. It’s not as cool as each individual stair lighting up; however, the way I did it allows for much less cutting and soldering (which I can’t do).
Good luck and keep us updated on the project!
What WLED effect mode did you use to achieve the fading boxes? I just finished a similar build based on this, but with an IKEA Kallax unit with 2x4 cubes. I have each Box as a separate segment but can't figure out how you're doing the fading effect. Can't wait to show you the final results since yours was the inspiration. Thanks!
I want to do something similar to a display cabinet. The power supply you mentioned 5V30A 4:03, but that option isn’t available on the link. Which one should I get? What determines the power supply required? Great video, it came out great.
Hey Chris -- really great content here... I know you did a high level video on WLED settings where you go over segments and whatnot, but I love what you've done where each segment gets its own flash transition from one color to another or otherwise treating each segment as its own strip. How do you do the effects at 5:57, 6:00, or 6:10 where the whole cubbie is almost treated as one group and the animation seems to go from one segment to another? Thanks in advance!
I second this question and why I am here. I did the same thing with an IKEA Besta entertainment console that is floating inspired by this video and I have made segments for each section which there is 3 but I can’t figure out how to make them chase like that from section to section. They all want to do their own thing naturally and stay within their segment. I read about Pixel Mapping in WLED and maybe this is how it’s done? Chris can you share how you did this please?
amazing
Thanks so much for watching and glad you liked the video!!
Wow that's so cool. How were u able to make the light strip sync with the TV's Screen light?
Thanks so much for watching and glad you liked the video! I'm just changing the light manually to match the tv. Hopefully someday I can figure out how to have it done automatically!
Awesome build! Is it possible to light up only one section(box) via voice commands? For example you ask a voice assistant of choice to show only the duckhunt gun or the Power glove?
Thanks so much! Thats a great question and a cool idea! I know you can control them with Alexa but i'm not sure how detailed the voice commands can get. At some point I want to look into this so hopefully down the road I will know for sure!
How and what do you use to mount the esp board to prevent any shorting of non used pins and protect board?
Thanks buddy! I just have everything sitting on the carpet in the back not protected by anything. Its just sitting there and i'm not moving things around so I'm not worried. I have heard others recommend maybe something like a traveling soap box!
@@ChrisMaherDIY thank you that sounds like a perfect idea
Amazing work! How far aprt did you mane the channels ?
How did you decide that two light channels were necessary to achieve the look you wanted? Would one light channel not be bright enough? Also, is the non-middle light channel towards the front or the back? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for watching and great question! I actually never even tested 1. I just went with 2 right away. The non middle channel I have really close to the front. I have not done this yet but I can easily disconnect the middle channel and see if there is much of a difference. Who knows, maybe just the one in front would be good enough!
@@ChrisMaherDIY did you try how it looks with only one led stripe? thanks
Hey are ther different options for the esp32 Board cause the ones from Teyleten Robot are not avaliable in my country
Thanks so much for watching! I think for the most part the boards are all pretty similar and should pretty much work the same. I would just order whatever one has the most reviews and test things out.
Hey great work, truly! How did you mount the console to the wall? I scrolled and scrolled to make sure I was not asking the same question that had already been answered. Again awesome job this made me a subscriber!
Looks great Chris. What UST projector / screen is that? very deep blacks.
Thanks so much! Its a 4k UHD with HDR UST Projector. I will have a full dedicated review video coming out next month on it.
@@ChrisMaherDIY looking forward to it!
Hi Chris. Love your project. I have a question if I use the govve m1 cut it in half and reconnect it again to make 2 lines like yours, would it be able to run the same color at the same time...?
#MohdAzadWoodeninterior
Very very nice design 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👌
Thanks so much for watching!! Appreciate the support!
you have a power glove???
Lol I wish I could say I own it but I borrowed it from a buddy for the NES themed décor. I still very much remember it growing up. I wanted one so bad when I was a kid!!
Hello. I see on min 7:10 you use effect white colour to go from 1 sector to 7 sector, one by one. How did you do in soft ? How can I make for example the 7 sectors to by 10-15m length and i esp32 or more to interconnect the ip addresses ?
Thanks so much for watching! In that scene its just a simple animation that comes with WLED called android I believe. With WLED though, you can also break the led strip into different segments that you can then control individually if you would like so you can have each box do its own thing or its own color/animation. Hope that makes sense! You can do this all with just 1 esp device.
@@ChrisMaherDIY tnx for The clarificați and for respond
Can I bring 4 signals to this controlar and somhow to start and stop 4 sigments individual?
For exemple to receive signal 3 and start segment 3, receive signal 2 and start segment 2.
Can I do this? How do you see this to by posibile? And to see in wled app this!
Tnx againe for respond
@@gradmihaialexandru3445 that's a great question and something that's over my head! Maybe someone reading through might have an idea and can chime in? Great question though! I'm curious myself if that could be done!
Hi Chris. Great video. Just found your channel as I am wanting to add WLED to my kitchen, under the base units. My issue is they are on different sides of the kitchen, and have different 12v power supplies going to them operated by a two way switch. How long can the power / data lines be to connect the two strips together. Would one WLED controller work or best to have two? Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Hi Chris, another excellent build, I bet your wife was thrilled with you after all that routing! 🤣
Quick question, I imagine your using the latest WLED on your ESP32 board, I'm still using the Athom ones till my final install, but I've noticed on the Athom ones when I'm using latterns/effects the dedicated white led is not used, it's only used when the effect is set to solid,
Does yours do this or do you think its probably the WLED version being a year or more out if date on the Athom controller?.
Apologies for the long question.
I hope you are all well 🙏 🇺🇸🇬🇧
Thanks as always buddy! That's a great question! I'm not 100% sure but my guess is on WLED you can assign one of the 3 colors to the dedicated white led and then pick the other 2 colors. Then under colors you can choose color gradient that I would imagine use the white with the dedicated led. But yeah, I get what your saying. On the default animations with their default color palette, my guess is those would not be using the dedicated white! Always good quesitons!
@@ChrisMaherDIY thank you as always for your patience and advice, once I do my esp8266 and ESP32 downloads I will let you know if their is a difference between the Athom and the latest download from WLED themselves.
I hope you are all well, take care 🙏 🇺🇸🇬🇧
What is the name of the tv I like it it's fantastic 😊
Hi Chris, could you me a favour and write the measures of your console? complete length, deepth, height, and please the length of each 7 box? would be awesome. thanks
What tv and size is that that the games are playing on
Thanks so much for watching! This is a 120 inch UST projector. I'll be doing a dedicated review/unboxing of it in the near future.
Can you connect two of these together??? They are kind of short for outside... Thank You Govee Outdoor LED Strip Lights, 32.8ft RGBIC Outdoor Lights with 64 Scene Modes and 16 Music Mode, IP65 Waterproof Smart Lights with App Control for Home, Balcony, Roof, Backyard, Garden, Patio, Porch
Thanks so much for watching! I have yet to try those specific lights out. My guess is you cant hook them up together as the Govee M1 is the only one that I'm aware of being able to do that but maybe someone who has played around with that specific set might know for sure and can chime in!
I don't know why, but I want to buy the DIY Media Console. It looks amazing, but this don't fit in my room.😂
In the future I will make a 1m shelf with 1 LED strip that go down to my desk and 2 spot lights that show to the top. Only one thing, I must learn is how to make it. (Maybe a idea for the next video).
PS. I am from Germany and don't so good in english.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I'm glad you liked the project! That's a good idea and I'll for sure put it on my long list of projects I would like to do at some point!
You could cut the channels in one pass if you got a dado blade for your tablesaw
Thanks so much for watching and for the great idea! I might have to look into getting that for the saw!
How tall did you go for the cubbies?
he is very busy, i had the same question under another, here is his reply to this question:
"So the entire length is 97 inches and its a little under 16inches deep. The height is a little under 9 inches. the two outer cabins are (smaller ones are about 8 inches. The other cabins are all around 15 inches. I think I was just eyeballing thing so they are all a little different. I think 2 strips are best but if you only have 1, I would keep one towards the front so it illuminates the front of whatever you have displayed. There will probably be some slight shadowing in the back if you only use the 1 strip but not the end of the world!"
Pls I beg can u gv me the length and width of the console boards u cut

You should try this but instead of a white back how about a mirror
Thats a great idea! Might have to try that at some point! Thanks so much!
3 4ths? You mean 3 quarters?
Thanks so much for watching! Lol yes. Good catch!
dude, what Media console? those are cupboards with lights....
