I'd agree. This comment is old, but...I find myself listening to this theme sometimes for those feelings. Usually when my emotions get clogged. It really echoes this...emptiness. With bipolar, you almost feel like you're lying to yourself. Because you change so much. This feels like the theme of self reflection afterwards, trying to comprehend and process...what really are you? Who really are you? Similar to hancock, you feel like you've got everything figured, even if it sucks a little. But then new variables are added, new things to improve...new things to inhibit. And so you find yourself just...sitting. Wondering what you tangibly have beyond the sensations of your body against solids, the scents and the sights. While in a normal day, you can admire and enjoy those things...when you're fighting internally it feels almost...cruel. Like any amount of the life you want always orbits just out of reach. Like watching the effects of a black hole...but from inside the horizon. Trapped to watch and contemplate your own difficulties and issues. And yet...it's those difficulties and issues that remain the only reliable constant in a churning sea of instability. Even with medication and the improvements i've made, I still find this song echoes in my soul in darker times. As I said, it helps me reflect...and after a little while, just like listening to this song, you...feel a little better almost. The song itsellf is...relatively simple i'd say. I'm no composer though. But the more you listen to it, the more shines through. A blackened canvas slowly being given definition as your eyes adjust to the darkness. Similarly, it's immediately sad...but it slowly becomes more intricate the longer you listen. Anyway...apologies with miring you with this comment. I've not been feeling the best tonight. Perhaps you or someone else will gain something from my words. But if all else fails, i'm feeling better. Thank you from 7 years in the future...

I reflect on my drug and alcohol abuse which was pretty bad when I hear this. Surrounded by drinkers and drug addicts but never felt so alone in my entire life. This captures the human emotion of loneliness perfectly. Glad I’m sober and have my family now but I still like to stop and listen to this every once in awhile to remind me how bad it can truly be if I ever went back.
This is one of the most underrated movies. The scene at the restaurant always brings on the tears when he says the line "Nobody?" when telling the story how know one came to claim him at the hospital.
And the “I’m sorry” from Mary afterwards was very powerful. She realized how alone he felt for 80 years. She had all the answers to his questions, but felt like she wasn’t able to tell him. It’s easy to criticize her for what she did, but she loves him too much to see him get hurt again.
@@just4funberdley521 Am I though? Sure it was definitely unfair to leave him for 80 years feeling like a nobody. He protected her every time they were attacked. She could’ve visited him when he was aware of his powers again and had control of them to explain everything.
