"Doom 2 is just a mission pack for Doom". Couldn't agree more! :D Talking of controversial takes my biggest gaming disappointment was Doom 2. I was obsessed with Doom so hearing a sequel was coming... At the time most game sequels were new games that built significantly from the previous game and I was expecting Doom 2 to be the same. How disappointed I was that it was, as you put it, a mission pack for Doom. I still enjoyed it and having more Doom 1 was still good though. :D

great level. for a level named acidworks you didn't overuse the acid. i especially appreciated how the secrets were integrated into the level. i felt like they were "real" secret passageways rather than just videogamey elements because of the care that was taken on their interiors and layouts. the "show us a thing, then we come around to it later" rhythm was also extremely well used even in a small space. you should be really proud
Some amazingly styled maps in this one: Acidworks E1, Nortubel map-based, Imp City a huge improvement over existing city maps but Newton's Warehouse... that thing is a whole design on its own packed into one relatively mid-sized DOOM map. When you thought you'd seen it all in terms of tech/office design. In comparison to the others, Hell's Kitchen Sink pales a bit, whilst it's by no means a bad map. Insane quality in this project yet again.
OMG! That ladder made of really really really steep stairs is awesome. I'm stealing that. That map was really great overall! The level of detail is very inspiring.

Great maps here, really! Imp City was just so nicely designed. All those details must have taken a ton of work!
The background midi on "Imp City" sounds almost like the Casualty theme music played sideways.
