always fun to watch these uploads. BTW @1:18:32 I've NEVER seen that before. I wonder if that's ever been documented in a youtube gameplay. It would be a fun challenge to see you not build any cities, and win the game by taking over every city on the map :)

6:29 You can end up having to restart a lot. I think that’s why the Americans are the best choice for speed running. Just make you get an Explorer or Builder and you can get out in 4000 BC. As far as the techs required, for a domination speed run, you only need horseback riding. It’s also great to steal fundamentalism from the Arabs - that helps a lot! With economic/tech/culture runs, the tech path is generally the same - alphabet/writing/CoL etc. Really appreciate the shout out! Keep getting those videos out. 😄
@@Gothamnameless Big issue I’ve had with English speed runs is that it’s impossible to get horseback riding from a friendly hut. I believe that the devs done this intentionally to stop the player getting to feudalism early. Oracle is very OP in the early game - great to steal from the Egyptians.
Anytime brotha! You’re my speed run sherpa now 🤣. It was only right to lead people to the source. Is the only point of moving your settlers early to acquire some type of unit, not to find another civ?
@@tywrex3044 Joe done a very good video called “The Art of the Walk In” to justify moving the settler. Most move the settler to pick up friendly huts and to find another civ. Generally, this is far quicker than settling in the initial spot. Personally, I like to settle beside a barb hut to get a free militia and use the aforementioned to pick up huts. Even from a non-speed running POV, you want to move from the initial spot to find a better place.
Every vid you lose tthe hanginggardens. Why dont you pay when you have the money? You always wait until someone else take it from you. Is frustranting for us man

Play as English get a walk in ..... Get to knights as fast as you can.
Bonus points if your walk in is Egyptian with Oracle

I will be refraining from any more speed running commitments for the time. The first one has cost me several hours 🤣
