the only reason sczesny let in so many goals was because arsenal got off to a bad start conceding over 10 goals in the first four games (Im pretty sure it was 4) De gea would make many more mistakes and the amount of character szczesny after letting in 8 goals against man u and coming back to have a good season after that point where as de ge had a above average season not being reliablle and always making little mistakes and every couple of games he would make a big mistake costing his team.

The biggest thing about him is his character and how he responds to criticism he takes it on the chin and does not let it effect him! He still plays his normal game! i don't think anyone doubts his shot stopping abilities,i think he's better than any goal keeper in the premiership,it's his ability to deal with set pieces that get into the box.corners and indirect free kicks.he gets that sorted and we're set for the next 20 odd years.maybe a few extra days in the gym to build stature without sacrificing his athleticism and a couple of hours a week on the setpieces to help him adjust to how physical he should be to go get the ball when it's in the air.

Schemiechel was at fault for 1 goal in the first 10 games he played in, how many has De Gea been at fault for? It seems like anything thing hit straight at him he struggles with. And all this going for everything with his legs is just such bad practice for a goalkeeper. Fergie has taken a massive risk and I predict De Gea being loaned back to La Liga in 12 months. This one is just not going to work. United should have just gone for Manuel Neuer who is obviously the top keeper in Europe right now

De Gea's not bad just very inconsistent. He's new to the league, so this is to be expected. The days he shows up and makes saves like this are indicative of a keeper that will be among United's greatest someday. Lindegaard is already excelling De Gea just needs to gain some confidence and mental fortitude and he will be a force.

Look at mertesacker, poor first season adapting and now playing brilliantly, same story for giroud.. he will come good, jenkinson too, gibbs, koscielny in his first season. These are all world class players who took a while to adapt to the speed and style of EPL.
Well, playing for a worse club naturally means the opposition has more shots at the goalkeeper. This will lead to the keeper getting a lot of valuable in game experience. It helps him to understand the game better in ways that can not be done it practice. Simple.
he's pulled off some wonder saves in the last 6 weeks... u can see him growing in confidence what shows it most is how much more hes dominating his six yard box hes coming and collecting and not just flapping wildly anymore. Hes got natural talent just need experience

@manishmelvin Sorry, do you ACTUALLY watch the games? Because if you've seen how he's performed recently you wouldn't be saying that. Quite possibly the best save I've ever seen from Mata's free kick in the Chelsea game. Since Lindegaard has been injured he's been fantastic.
Quality is obviously there as seen with these saves and the save he did against chelsea with juan matas free kick, he needs to bulk up in the gym, gain more confidence and train on the high balls coming in... if he masters all of that he could be the best goalkeeper in europe.

Schemiechel was at fault for 1 goal in the first 10 games he played in, how many has De Gea been at fault for? It seems like anything thing hit straight at him he struggles with. And all this going for everything with his legs is just such bad practice for a goalkeeper. Fergie has taken a massive risk and I predict De Gea being loaned back to La Liga in 12 months. This one is just not going to work. United should have just gone for Manuel Neuer who is obviously the top keeper in Europe right now
@Sparker619 It was very blown out of the proportions by the media...He was with his mates in Tesco or whatever and had a doughnut, but then he was going out to get his wallet out of the car as he left it inside so the security guards were questioning him but as De Gea's English isn't that good he really couldn't explain to them..but then another Spanish speaker came in and then helped out De Gea..really it wasn't anything bad as the media are making out to be.
Nope De Gea is the better keeper, i know it might be difficult to understand that because you might believe everything you read but if you study the 2 they are both very good but De Gea is better (remember this is his first season in England imagine how good he'll be in 2 years time, this is Joe Harts 3rd season)

@jackmilo89 I've seen Courtois play, did you see de gea at athletico madrid? He was the same age and he was out of this world. At Man Utd de Gea has been player of the month twice, no other player has been twice. Courtois is fantastic, but he's gone to a different league, but England is FAR more physical than Spain.
i think man utd should loan him out to blackpool or some league one team..so he can get used to playing in a high quality league..it must be pretty hard for him to come from a league where there are only spanish players playing in a shitty two team league. lindegaard should be utd's no1 as he 100x better than de gea.
Guys lay off of him. David De Gea has the potential to be the best goalkeeper in the next 5 years. He is 21 comes from spain, can't speak english and plays for the biggest team in the world and replace Van Der Sar. If you see his past games De Gea has improved a lot and will continue to do so. Real fans support players and the team through thick and thin.

People say his shit, yes he makes good saves and yes he fucks up some situation which he shouldn't but people look at this vids what saves he makes and his only 20 so u must expect that from keepers of that age when he will get used to this league and when he will be more confident u will see he will be new van der saar...

Lindegaard is much much better, he COMMUNICATES with his defence, he is physically well built, and is so much better than De Flopper. Lindegaard won't go anywhere for the next 12 years...his legacy status is at United..De Gea can leave for all I care. Amos is waiting for the number 2 spot.
De Gea's not bad just very inconsistent. He's new to the league, so this is to be expected. The days he shows up and makes saves like this are indicative of a keeper that will be among United's greatest someday. Lindegaard is already excelling De Gea just needs to gain some confidence and mental fortitude and he will be a force.
@liank96 Lindegaard is better..he's more experienced, way more strength and power build than De gea so he's very suited for the Premier League...De gea is just average and shits himself so bad during games. And Lindegaard starting in the last two matches indicates he's the number 1 keeper at United which is very promising signs. Much more confident with lindegaard in goal.
Look at mertesacker, poor first season adapting and now playing brilliantly, same story for giroud.. he will come good, jenkinson too, gibbs, koscielny in his first season. These are all world class players who took a while to adapt to the speed and style of EPL.
Well, playing for a worse club naturally means the opposition has more shots at the goalkeeper. This will lead to the keeper getting a lot of valuable in game experience. It helps him to understand the game better in ways that can not be done it practice. Simple.
he's pulled off some wonder saves in the last 6 weeks... u can see him growing in confidence what shows it most is how much more hes dominating his six yard box hes coming and collecting and not just flapping wildly anymore. Hes got natural talent just need experience
@youpatfrick They didn't even box him in really and if anything De Gea was pushing Andy Carroll in the back and his positioning was awful.Course your being biased if De Gea hadn't of signed for Utd would you have been talking about him being the best in the world one day? doubt it.
@manishmelvin Sorry, do you ACTUALLY watch the games? Because if you've seen how he's performed recently you wouldn't be saying that. Quite possibly the best save I've ever seen from Mata's free kick in the Chelsea game. Since Lindegaard has been injured he's been fantastic.
Quality is obviously there as seen with these saves and the save he did against chelsea with juan matas free kick, he needs to bulk up in the gym, gain more confidence and train on the high balls coming in... if he masters all of that he could be the best goalkeeper in europe.
@fchoudhury13 No belief you have to believe! You ever look a the back of a Man Utd badge on the 2010/2011 season it said believe and i can say with the performances he has put it against liverpool, chelsea and now ajax lindergaard is guna have a hard time gettin back into the squad!
@TheOnceForgotten I can see that you are a fool already, even Lindegaard is a better choice for Man UTD, just think if Van Der Sar was there, and as I said Courtois is much better than DeGea, not only at Atletico, but he is better overall.. go and watch atletico games or his videos.
His as thin as an Indian refugee and perhaps he'll save better if he gets rid of his ridiculous hairstyle. He's definitely good enough to play in the Barclays League, but no ways is he a substitute for Van der Sar. He is simply not good enough for Manchester United!
To be honest, this is still his first season in the premiership and so I think people can't be too harsh on De Gea, name a keep that hasn't made high profile mistakes, give him a chance, besides, even if he doesn't pick his game up, Anders is looking in great form!
