I have to be honest with you, this episode made me angry! I'm a journalist ( I write for a small paper in New York), and I don't come from a moneyed background. I'm , also, of Arabic-Muslim heritage. You can imagine the racism, and xenophobia that I had to, and still do, deal with from interviewees, some co-writers, etc. I didn't just walk in to a newspaper office, and demanded a job and an advance. I had to work for it, and it was hard. That part in the show didn't seem realistic to me, especially since this is supposed to be the 1960's. Journalism is not an easy field to be in as a woman. I've some horror stories to tell you about that. Honestly, when Maddie walked into the paper, and demanded to be on the payroll, I almost turned off the show, and stopped watching for good. Also, what's up with Judith and Maddie?? I agree with you about Officer Platt. The relationship that he has with Maddie, isn't sexy, or contributes to the story. Maybe they are trying to show that she's "breaking out" of her role as a just a wife, and mother? I really dislike her son, and if he was my son, I honestly would just avoid him. He's entitled, rude, and just plain annoying! I hope this show gets a little better, but I do love the character of Cleo. I just wish that she'd some better choices.Thank you for the reaction, I love your channel.
I agree. The level of privilege that oozes from Maddie is almost insufferable. The fact that it all happened for her, just like she intended. Wow .. smh.
@@mysweetperspective Exactly! I honestly wanted to stop watching because Maddie is truly insufferable.I will continue the series, though. I like Cleo, even though some of her decisions are very questionable, and naive.
