You make some very good points in your comparison. Apparently, the 1200XC didn't sell that well because most buyers went for the higher spec XE. The new X is, in my eye's at least, basically a 1200 version of the 900 Street Scrambler which is why I bought one. I'm 6'3" and around 240lb suited up and I find the X suspension pretty good and certainly much better than the Street Scrambler I had previously. The supposedly "inferior" Nissin brakes are still two finger stoppers so I'm with you on the Brembo comparison.👍 It's the styling that attracted me to the X, the XC and especially the XE never appealed to me that much, they're way too heavy for off road work IMO and I have an enduro bike for that anyway. The 1200 engine is a peach and makes a great road bike.👍 The big increase in manufacturing costs across all industries is probably behind Triumphs re-speccing of bikes across the range and an old spec XE or XC would probably cost substantially more today than they did 18 months ago. In the end it's not the spec on paper that counts but how the bike rides and feels and I don't find the X a let down in any area. Ride safe!👍

Hey thanks for the feedback, I’m glad you are getting along well with the new scrambler. It should serve you well for years to come! I plan on keeping mine for the long haul. I appreciate you adding to the conversation. I’m sure others in the comments will find your personal experience with the new scrambler 1200 x helpful.

I test rode the XC last year, and told the dealer it was a good bike. However, what I really wanted was that lovelly 1200 engine with a more realistic seat height, and at a better price.
They must have been listening because that is what they gave me. The T120 went and the X is now in the garage, perfect.

I can understand that. I’m 6ft so the seat height is welcomed for me. But my wife cannot even ride the bike at 5’3” so I can see how this was a compromise. Glad you got what you really wanted! Happy riding!

The xc is def the much better value. Cruise control, aluminum parts instead of plastic in some areas, brakes, more funstion to dash,.. it’s gained six axis imu but and lost travel which people wanted but lost the fully adjustable suspension. Triumph def pulled a bait and switch. A lot less bike for a little less money. Still a great bike but just much less spec. Thanks for being a regular dude/consumer and calling it out

@@Jamaal_Tuhrik this is why I do it! Thanks for adding to the conversation. I love knowing what regular people think about the machines they spend their hard earned money on so when I have something to add to the community I like too. Ride safe!

I like your take on this. I believe Triumph had a gap in the scrsmbler line. The street scrambler was a departure from tbe old 900 scramber. They needed a higher performance road biased street scrambler. I would be more of an XE buyer. I couldn't go riding off into the desert on a $15,000 bike that dents. I am with you on used bikes. In AZ no sales tax on used bikes. Also no icky dealer add-on's or thieving mark ups.

It is really hard to accept the dealer fees on new bikes these days, in PA I’ve noticed both a destination fee and a setup fee. Usually adding over $1000 to the original msrp. I’m really just over here trying to convince the world not to pay the dealers anymore than they have too😂 I’m going to have to catch up on your videos, haven’t been on RUclips much lately. Hope all is well!

They filled the gap with the x and created a new gap by dropping the XC.
Imo, the x is pretty sad for a dedicated street bike.

The main selling point of the x is the height for us shorties. At 5’8” the xc is just too tall to be comfortable.
Do agree that the price should have been lower in terms of the downgrades but if it doesn’t spoil the ride it’s not a dealbreaker. Think the clock looks cheap though and that’s one aesthetic that could be improved

Yeah the 2” shorter seat burger will definitely help you reach the ground. At this point you might be able to find the new x model used for a decent price. I bought my xc with 600 miles the same year it came out and got a nice 2k discount from msrp

@@anthonyridesphilly my local dealer in uk currently has a 24 demo bike with 1200 miles on for £10200 which I think works out at $13000 USD

@@davidparry2301 even getting the destination charge and setup fees waived can be a huge discount. Here in the US that usually totals over $1000 USD. So that plus a discount on msrp would have me feeling pretty good about the deal

Don’t forget they replaced all the fenders with cheap plastic on the X and took off the hand-guards as well. And you still have to replace the seat. So it’s a terrible solution for the shorter rider still. Not a good deal like they want you to believe. I don’t know how low you can modify an XC to but it’s a LOT more bike for the money.

The 1200 xe was simply a better bike

I sort of feel like adding an X to my XC just as a road only bike, but it's really not a very good option at all compared to the t120, speed twin, or speed master.
It looks like a scrambler, but it isn't. It's a road bike and it's the worst one they make in the 1200.

I know what you mean, i think if you can handle the sporty seating position that the Speed Twin would be a killer one two punch paired with your Scrambler XC. Having a sport bike as my second option, I really enjoy that. One for long rides and one for short rides
