One tip that I would add. It would be good to maintain consistency of the distinct colors between a printed Bible, written notes, and Bible apps that allow highlighting of colors.
Have you created your own bible colour scheme? How did you come up with it?
I have not but I just might now. I like the 'simple is better' principle.

Great additional tip and I’d bet it’s another reason to go for a more limited pallet to make it easier to match.
