the world needs more z32 vids, absolutely in love with this car!
Hard to film when ur hands are bloody 😂
Juts order mines with a solid shifter support brace and boot kit can't wait for it to come and drive it hard in the sunny California weather
Hope you guys enjoy Ulrich and his 300ZX. Stay tuned for more upgrades over the winter and spring!
+Roads Untraveled i took all the panels out of the back of my z it looks fantastic! as long as your chasis is painted the same color. just leave the little tray thing behind the seats and forward but take everything else out.
don't even have a car but fuck it lol I shall learn how to install a short shifter today lolol
+Jose Salas hahaha good idea!
+Jose Salas Just keep in mind that when you get a car, short shifters aren't always an upgrade; for some cars shifting is a lot worse when you change the fulcrum point from the oem setup. For a number of cars, certainly mine (180sx aka 240sx in the US), the best change is to simply drill out the isolation rubber in gearstick, cut the outer shell down 1.5 inches and inner shaft to suit, then weld it together using a washer at the base. That gives you a faster, more precise throw, with the bonus of being able to feel the gear engagement. The downside is a little extra vibration in the shaft, which isn't an issue.
If you were installing a dildo gearknob or shaft extension for a track car, then you really have no option but to install a short shifter, so I'm referring to a regular shaft/knob arrangement.
I just installed a short shifter in my car this week. Can't believe what a difference it makes!
More z32 vids would be awesome.
+TheOnlyOne Ulrich is a good friend and does a lot with us here at Roads Untraveled. I can promise you the Z32 videos will not stop!
+Roads Untraveled that's great because I also have a z32 but a naturally aspirated version.
Although this isn't anything new for me personally, it was a good video. Keep it up.
I just installed mine with a solidh shifter bracket. Fuuucking love it!
Zach leinbach ya I juts order it came up to 330$ shipping to Cali
I ordered the same stuff. Haven't installed yet. I'm hoping it's a big upgrade over my stock stuff.
Thanks for the videos guys. Been needing to change my crappy megan short throw with a Z1 so this is perfect. I own a TT Z32. Couple videos of it on my channel. It's one of the fastest stock turbo pump gas TTs in America.
That purple tint makes for some really cool lookin' video. Nice Z, too. You don't see those too often anymore these days.
I have a stripped out jdm Z32 2+2 TT in Burnaby, there's less weight to take out in the 2+0 but I've taken out over 100lbs all together (including engine bay deletes etc.) and I still have all the sound deadening and heavy ass oem passenger seat. Its fun for sure
You should make a playlist of this 300ZX.
Ulrich cool video man hey don't throw away that Megan SS send it to me I will surely make good use of it on my ZED
Lekker video guys. I agree, Ulrich should indeed strip the 300 >.>
more z32 stuff!
More South Africans in British Columbia! Gotta love it
dang 😭😍 great job guys👆 looks hella good🙉
I know this video is 7 yrs old. Qq did you noticed more stiffness in the shifting? I make sure the yolk bolt is not too tight also should I leave space to make sure the bolt moves?
id really like to see a review of this car! currently in the market for one
+Amir Amdard - There is a review on the Roads Untraveled site titled "Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo Review / The last Great Z?" as well as a follow up on the car titled "The Story behind Sally". Both are great videos and should help with your decision. :-)
YO I so woulda taken that old shifter haha
How does this compare to installing a short shifter in an S14?
Where can I get a short shifter like the one you installed?
Okay I'm posting for everyone scouring the comments section for installation tips. Don't bother swapping over the seals and other stuff from the stock shifter like the Z1 instructions say. Just install the Z1 shifter how it comes. DON'T disassemble the stock shifter and don't disassemble the Z1 short throw shifter... The instructions say
to do that but it's NOT necessary. Just remove the old shifter and the bushings and install the Z1 shifter and THAT'S IT. Again, the instructions all all this shit that is unnecessary and frankly I think it is wrong. Also if you can't install the very slim washers on the linkage it's okay just leave them out and it works just fine without them. They are almost impossible to install.
What kind of wing is that?
How has this shifter held up??
Its like this video was made for me.
Im prettu sure yall installed it backward. The curve suppose to face backwards ,you have it facing forward
What did you use to make the shift link wider?
oh marcus and your tiny hands XD
I did this 2 years ago with my 90 na
How does it compare with a stock shifter feel?
I never had the stock shifter so I couldn't say. the Z1 shifter feels very good though. really smooth I would recommend it for sure
i wanna buy one for my '96 300zx non turbo.
will it be the same process?
Yes it's exactly the same. Good luck!
Does any one know the name of these rims ? I've seen them in a is300 around where I live and I really like them.
yep they're made by a company called Varrstoen
Thanks i appreciate that.
Covered this about 3 times already on youtube but why not put it up again i guess lol.
Is he German or South African or something?

+ulrich langley me too!
Is it possible to have a paddle shift transmission in a Nissan 300zx?
Also can you make the muffler spit out fire?
+Wolfie The Wolf with enough money yes you can have paddle shift, and yes if its twin turbo it will easily throw flames.
Z1 not zed 1 WTF
