The Pilot is Joseph Mashman, He was test pilot for bell who transitioned to lead demonstration pilot. He is also my grandfather and namesake
this is straight heat
Good stuff guys. Thank you.
Better get those stickers off of the windshield. Great little chopper, did not know it was so maneuverable (better with unobstructed view, though).
Presumably the enemy is assumed to be stone deaf. The one shortcoming of hedge hopping, and especially for those two blade choppers.
Yup
Yes, but you can't hit what you can't see.
The helicopter in this training film is not being used as aircraft but as rotary ground effect vehicle . THe crew are part infantrymen, part light tactical vehicle crew, part hovercraft/GEV crew, and large part helicopter crew. This is nuts!
good stuff
I been there and did that with real bullets and bad guys. Between trees under bridges, hover holes, and hand grenades. .
i was a ch-53 gunner, been reading about the cav and oh 13 and loaches...bad ass!
Greetings for you from Iraq
To do this NOE, the pilot and observer/gunner have to have brass cojons heavier then max payload of ARH. How do they do it?
Tree trimming with the main rotor doesn't sounds like the best idea. Maybe that is why they only built 2 of them?
H-13K was put into production as the OH-13S. They built lots of them.
I’m first! Woohoo! Send me my million $s!
