I love the “you’re not supposed to smile if you catch a big fish”. I grin like a child everytime !!!! It’s supposed to be fun. Best fishing channel on RUclips. No airs /graces or tackle/equipment/bait promotions. Pure honest bloke enjoying his fishing and passing on his tips. I love it.
Love this channel! away from all the sponsors its just an experienced angler teaching us tips without saying you need all the expensive gear. some great tench well done!
Awesome session, Graeme, and a real chunk of a tench! I live in Australia and fish the ocean rocks for Eastern rock blackfish aka 'pigs' (not to be confused with luderick - blackfish). Like tench, they have a paddle like tail which they use to dive down into their caves once hooked. You remind me so much of my great uncle Jack - an incredibly successful and practical fisherman who like you, could build anything and was handy with his hands.
First fish what a lovely Tench, just arrived home for the second part, wife making coffee, ok lets see how this goes. It amazes me how much louder everything sounds. Wow thats some nights fishing, massive well done Graeme, great nights fishing, brilliant video, really are a thinking angler, great channel.
Mate and I had a change from the usual and went Tench fishing. Threw out a gallon of dead maggots and fished a boilie over the top. We didn't sleep all night. Just as we got the rod set up from the last one, the other rod would go off. It was me or him with with another Tench. In the end, about 06:00 we pulled the rods in and got some kip before the drive home. Some of the biggest Tench we'd ever seen. Cracking video mate. Brought back memories of a similar night
Graham. Your videos continue to inspire me as a father of two young lads. We love your old school techniques which I and the lads are still using... I started fishing in the early 80s. I'm still a fan on the 2p piece on the open spool which drops into an old saucapan lid on the take. Keep up the super work. You're a true legend in our pastime/sport. Thank you
Lovely to meet you on Thursday Graeme,I too had a totally awesome session 22 landed biggest about 5.5lb,even had them right in the margins on the float,it was like going back in time, great video mate keep up the good work. Baz
Great tenching session! I use to love tench fishing as a kid, way before catching carp we'd fish for rudd, roach and tench! They fight beautifully, yeah ledgering for tench. The goodold days🤣, no bivvy no bite alarms an old hand me down rods, totally unsuitable and absolutely too long 13" if I remember correctly. And tackle bought along bait with whatever pocket money I managed to get my hands on! Again brilliant video brought back so many good memories. Thanks for taking the time to make the video! Cheers Andy 👍
Hair-rigged popped up plastic corn is my go-to bait for good sized tench... I usually dip it in something like almond or pineapple (cake makers) flavour essence... Great session Mr. P. , heres to many more years of wearing yerself out on overnighters... 😂 😎👍☘️🍺
Now that was totally awesome and came with Gourmet food, lots of old school tips (instead of silver paper I used ring pulls of a coke cans occasionally weighted with a small shot). My best session was on Tring Reservoirs circa 1968 and that was 4 Tench all in the morning 5 - 6am biggest about 4lbs and I considered myself blessed. What you must have felt like I can't think. Thanks for sharing this memorable expedition with us.
Had a nice little Tinca the other day out of a local stretch of disused canal, gave me a nice scrap on a light rod fishing the float, had a cracking roach over a lb too. Love those old school bobbins, before I had bite alarms and all that jazz I used to hang corks on a bent paperclip and they worked a treat, still use them occasionally when I want a lighter bobbin. I find tench tend to fight better pound for pound compared to most carp, had a double figure Tinca out of an old pit lake that fought like a demon, had my 3lb shimano carp rod flat out with braided line for a brutal fight to keep him out of the weeds. Next fishing quest is a monster barbel out my local river. Thanks for sharing.
Another great ta fishing video love fishing for tench probably my favourite species to catch had 2 7lb plus this year a few 5 + 6lb stunning looking fish great angling Graham!
Excellent video Graeme 🎣👍🎣. Now those were some fantastic tench 👏👏, surprised you didn't use the slider float method. Would depend on the depth of the lk. But what a Awesome day- night fishing season 👍👍
Hi Graham Wow, a brilliant session with a exellent standard of tinca's, that must have been 70lbs of tench easily really well done, and yes with regards to traveling for quality fish its always worth it providing you catch your target species, we've all put in a lot of effort for zero fish of the species we went for, i have anyway. Take care, stay safe, and keep it lit.👍 my friend
Great overnighter there Graeme, lovely Tench there and nice to see you to see you nice! I fished at a fishery called Buzzards Valley yesterday and I had ten Tench and two Barbel. My mate had ten Barbel, two Tench and a decent Bream. We fished a pool there called the Hawk pool and it's mostly Tench and Barbel, I recommend it it's near Tamworth. No Carp in there so the Tench and Barbel are thriving. It's a narrow canal style pool, I cage feeder fished it with groundbait and pellets mixed together with 8mm pellet as hook bait though I did try luncheon meat. My mate fished
Luncheon meat the whole session, it could be the Barbel prefer the meat to pellet or it could just be the swims we were fishing and what fish were out in front of us. Be great if you fancied the drive and do a shoot there, i recommend you fish the opposite end to the car park where it widens, its upto about 14ft deep so not shallow. Cracking place.
I had a night like that once with my dad back in the 80s we were fish for fish with tench like that one night, one rod bite alarm and washing bottle top and the other float with a glow light on top fishing with trout pellet paste tench all night long with the odd dustbin lid bream throne in never got any sleep went to bed at 9 am at home very happy .Great video wish i had one of that night i dont thing a super 8 would have cut it back then LOL.
@@TAFishing Trouble is I don't drive i have to rely on my dad or son to go with and they don't really like going any farther than a 30 min drive.Great vids was up at 4.30 this morning an watched them back to back.
Best well explained ways of fishing ive learnt alot about carping and sea fishing off this TA FISHING lunatic but this channel is like a drug u have a taste and u juat want more and more and b4 u no it your hooked (see whay i did there 😜) keep the vids comin dude 👍👍👍👍👍💯
Those mainline expanders will float if use them straight from the bag, they need to be put in water to go soft then they will sink. Some other expander pellets you need to pump them in a special pump you can get in tackle shops, to get them to sink. Pole anglers use them alot and carp do love expander pellets. Best tip for mainline 1s is when get to your peg put some in water and just leave them and by time setup they will be ready to rock, plus need to be keeped in water at all times. P.s try adding liquids to the water 👍
Enjoyed the two parter Graeme great to watch as usual. Be thankful Mike wasn't with you because, we all now he would have slept through all the action and you would have ended up with twice as much to do... take care ATB.
Hi graham how are you a question for you if you don’t mind sir I have 2 car stalker rods and reels when setting up the reel keeps moving and it’s in tight before I cast
I always bring the rods in now at midnight and get some restful sleep. Gone are the days of staying up all night or trying to sleep when anticipating a run. Alarm is set for 6 ish then rods straight back out again. Works for me!
A Cyprinid, meaning they have Pharangeal (throat)teeth to crush up their food similar to Carp as they don't have the strong digestive juices that predators have.

Yeah man, like Ol Graeme!
Don't expect Graham to comment, cos he never does.

This is spot on, 90% of photo's of people landing 30 or 40lb carp all look as miserable as sin!
American here. I enjoy watching the fishing methods in the UK. Totally different.

Don't take maggots, casters or worms though coz you could get plagued by the thousands of little Perch in there, just pellets, boilies and meat.

Looking forward to watching part 2.
Part one was excellent.
Really enjoyable and always a decent tip or two.
Good stuff
Great session Graham well done
Some fantastic catches there Graeme, tench are awesome.
Fantastic session Graeme , learnt how to identify a male tench , nice to see you don't use a keep net.
as they say, totally awsome, what more can one say.
love the specimenthunter parody :)
well done again graeme great night haul
Keep it up fantastic tench
Epic session greame
Red Letter Session on the tench there Graeme.Nothing quite like summer tench fishing.
Nice venue there ,great vlog lol about time you brought your own bivvy 🤣
Mrs Graeme doesn’t like fishing? It’ll be interesting to see the two of you catch and cook. I hope it’s coming soon hahaha
Hey Graeme, next time you go shore fishing could you please demo the pendulum cast again?
Great video G man.I love tench fishing there just aren't many places around here(Birmingham). Its all commercials stuffed with small carp.
Same down here which is why I drove all the way up to Gloucestershire.

Hi graham great haul where was you fishing there looks great
Horcott.
I fish the carp lake at horcott you need to get on there for a night but the tench lake is amazing
I was there last week.
I've noticed you tying cut bait to the hook in some videos. What are you using to do that? Thank you! Love your vids!
Just bait elastic which many tackle shops sell.
Hi graham how are you a question for you if you don’t mind sir I have 2 car stalker rods and reels when setting up the reel keeps moving and it’s in tight before I cast
I don't understand unless you mean the reel is moving on the handle ?
@@TAFishing yeah sorry graham that’s what I meant it’s still moving when the drag is taught
Great massive Green fish ❕🤘🇬🇧

Your Headtorch had success written all over it. Just put an 'N' in the middle of TECH :-)
Thanks for sharing Graeme. Absolute epic session. I'm still a tin foil man.....
Great watch but I'm shocked the boilie rod didn't go off tbh
I'd be happy there right now. All I'd need is my ⛺
My mate had a lovely 6lb 6oz tench on Saturday his first ever one
Epic session from a poor start. That's a fishing lesson in itself.
I am not familiar with tench. Are they a type of carp?
A Cyprinid, meaning they have Pharangeal (throat)teeth to crush up their food similar to Carp as they don't have the strong digestive juices that predators have.
Do you not use back leads at all? Might help not getting the second rod tangled every time...
Also wish you’d weigh a few...
Quick question for Graeme or the viewers. What is backwinding as opposed to anti-reverse? Tkx!
Instead of anti-reverse you click it off so the reel can go in reverse. Old schoolers call it backwinding.
@@TAFishing Thank you sir! 👍
