When I was younger I watched this for the first time, at the time I didn't really understand shippings and wasn't aware of the LGBTQ community. When I got older, I started to realize and understand things I never understood as a kid. Now I am still exploring the wonderful world of shippings and the LGBTQ community, I'm not sure why I'm sharing this but I feel like I should. I'm thinking it's so weird and interesting. I was just a kid having no idea about anything, and now I'm a teenager, who has learned so many things over the past few years. Sorry, I think I'm just being weird now. AppleDashers are under this weird delusion that Applejack and Dash are especially close because in the first half of the first season it a was regular dynamic and they both like sports, but if you actually pay attention to who the characters talk to and hang out with, Rainbow seems closet to Fluttershy, Pinkie and more recently Twilight while Applejack seems closest to Rarity Twilight, and Pinkie.
thewalrus45 More than 5 lines? First of all every single pony in the show have spoken to each other a lot more than that. Applejack and Rainbow Dash are close because there are multiple moments where they hung around each other, joked with each other, were competitive against each other, had friendly moments together. They're shown to easily be thmselves around each other, and enjoy each other's company.
Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash are completely different. Fluttershy is shy, and Rainbow Dash is more outgoing. That's why there's more of a miscommunication, and it lacks the type of relationship that RD and AJ have.
Sometimes Rainbow Dash is weirded out or disappointed in Fluttershy. Sometimes Fluttershy is intimidated and pushed to limits she doesn't want to go to around Rainbow Dash. But they're still friends despite their differences, and have a nice positive bond. However I disagree that it's more closer that Applejack and Rainbow Dash's relationship.
Although Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash grew up together, and have a nice understanding, AJ and RD click better because of their close similarities. They've even had full episodes together, so your idea of "more than 5 lines" doesn't work.
In my opinion, the only pony that can handle RainbowDash is FlutterShy. Hear me out on this! You can't have 2 out-spoken (bold, or decision making) people in a relationship,it just doesn't works! RainbowDash would be the out-spoken one, and FlutterShy is the only pony in all of Equestria who is calm enough to handle, and go along with RainbowDash, plus FlutterShy is the only one about her age with wings. Besides, Fluttershy needs some love and afection besides her forest friends!
Pinkie Pie- outspoken
Twilight- very outspoken and determined to do what she wants
Rarity- EXTREMELY HIGH-MAINTENANCE, and even rude to FlutterShy at some points, who would be mean to FlutterShy?!
Spike- Well, no explanation necesary
AppleJack- 0.0 well, AJ might be a problem, AJ if you ARE reading this, please give FlutterShy a break! Don't hurt her!
