My dad had TWO of these in the 1970s. Real simple basic transportation, no heater or radio and windshield wipers were two speed--on and off! The rings in the engines wore out and it wasn't worth the money to fix them. Real fun to drive when conditions were right. Don from West Virginia.
I saw a red Anglia in Richmond, BC in 1979 or 1980 once. I even remember it was at the intersection of Garden City and Westminster Hwy. We had just moved from NZ, so it attracted my attention immediately. Other British vehicles we saw around the same time were, Austin America's, Minis, Morris Minors and Plymouth Arrows, which were British Chrysler Avengers.
they made these in the uk from around 1960 . they were a very popular car widely used by police forces in the uk . estate car and van versions were also built .
I bought an Anglia from my brother in the early '70's. After I was sure it would run properly, I drove it from southern Alberta, Canada to school in southern Utah, USA, a distance of about 1000 miles. Gutless wonder, but fun to drive, no frills.
I used to drive one in the late 60s. I had to throw gas into the carb every morning to start it, and I had to rock it to engage the flywheel to the starter. I never want to see one again.
WHAT HAS THIS ANGLIA GOT TO LOOK FORWARD TO WITH THESE FOOLS WHO ARE OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE MORE SENSE ,, I HAVE THREE ANGLIAS IN STORAGE TO KEEP THEM AWAY FROM CLOWNS WHO RUIN CLASSIC CARS ,,
To bad its so rotted out .Make a nice little drag car body shell wise that is.A friend of mine has a 57 Super Stock Modified Ford Angilia with a 494Rodeck Hemi from a Early Eighties Rail Dragster . Fucker is Fast pardon my language .Runs eight second time traps @ 200+mph.Its a door slamer rod tried and true .
Ford Fan 2904 yes, with same bore as the 1500! so same size valves, very good for a high rpm race engine, formula junior used them with downdraft racing cylinder heads.

The Anglia wasn't a bad car in it's day.

Aw, even if it looks a bit crappy, I think a lot of people would restore the car if they just got a chance to do it.
MasterMilo dad?
The Anglia owner? No, not Milo's father. That's Ludo, he's the landlord of the (now) former workshop of Mastermilo and many others.
