- Really close quarter mile drag race between a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and a 2017 Audi RS7, almost the same ET and MPH.

Audi all day but that was a hell of a launch for the hellcat.
Yea rs7 driver didn’t really launch it, just hit the gas.
Plus the interior of German cars especially Audi is so fuckin nice dodge interior is trash

American and German car manufacturers have different philosophies. Muscle cars are built for straight lines, German ones are made for tracks.
well most higher-end German luxury vehicles, like the Audi sedans, the A6s, A7s, and A8s are made for straight lines and straighter curves because of the autobahn, so top speed is more important, but acceleration just comes as a perk with the quattro AWD, it makes the perfect drag car in a sense, and with muscle cars, the Camaro zl1 and the older z28, or the GT350 and 500 are perfect track day vehicles, so at this point the philosophies surrounding vehicles are kinda non-existant, only just paying hommage to them rather than using it as a performance foundation, altho dodge does an amazing job creating straight-line performance cars like long ago

Hellcat lost by 2 thousands of a second damn that’s a close race-but trapped almost 2MPH higher

The Audi Quattro's all-wheel drive provided maximum traction. Better than the Hellcat's rear-wheel-only drive.
In such a short race, that was the decisive factor.

why didn't Audi driver have the wing up in back? Would it have slowed him down?
Yeah wings cause downforce and that slows down cars, they’re only good for tracks because of aerodynamics making it quick around turns
in order to create the downforce, the wing creates drag. for that reason, the wing was down so less drag would affect his time. similar to why you may see many audis and other drivers fold their mirrors when drag racing. correcting YNW princes' comment, the wing creates downforce which in return makes the car more stable at high speeds, helping it turn into corners and stoping the car from losing grip in the rear. a front splitter on the other hand is used to create downforce in the front. a car needs both front and back to be balanced in order to be stable and have grip, or else let's say a car has too much in the rear, then the car would understeer. if too much in front, then the car would oversteer.
The audi RS7 performance comes stock 605hp and I doubt if it had any mods it would run an 11.5 seems like stock times to me and as an RS7 owner it looks like a stock RS7 based on the time

@@themarathoncontinues2289No it’s not lol the regular SRT hellcat does a 11.9 seconds quarter mile and the red eye does it in 11.5 seconds. The RS7 performance does the quarter mile in 11.3 seconds

@@darrenmontjar7168 the RS7 seats 4 people comfortably for a weekend get away to Austin. It's pulled my jet skis on the same trip. It gets 29 MPG @ 80 mph. With revised tuning and running E85, my ET has dropped 6/10 in the quarter and my mph is up +7.
It seems you're obtuse to think I'm solely a fan of my RS7. I love all eras of muscle. I have a Fury III, a notchback Mustang and Buick Skylark GX. I also have a Silverado LML Duramax.
My original response to the video wasn't to bring light to my RS7. The fact the newer purpose-built Dodge can't hang with my 4 door luxury cruiser is a sad truth. Save your "ha" for that 👍

Challenger sounds better, audi RS7 is faster , quattro and nice interior, wonderful seats...i have an A6 supercharged, fun car but not as fast of hellcats or srt , i would love to have an RS6 or RS5..

Audi is far far better made, superior reliability, superior materials, and AWD. It is the perfect driver. Dodge=last in reliability, crappy interior, handles like a steamship, junk brakes, body panel gaps,everywhere. You have to be an idiot to buy a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep product.

My hellcat charger runs 11.3 all day will Street Drag tires, I run NT05R. Without street drag tires it will only do 12.2.
