thank god somebody finally turned up James' microphone
Last year of E tuning. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Eb tuning sounds better in my opinion
The last days of metallica flowing as their best
They still are gods of metal, but their days of superb passed.
@@johnmarston8601 they’re still great
@@alebarajas3045 except Lars. He can't play ONE now.
Lemme set the scene:
1st time seeing Metallica. 19 years old, a gallon size ziploc bag of mushrooms that id been eating all day, standing right in front of the stage and this comes on and Pyros hit.
Pure insanity!
Greatest music festival moment of my life and ive been to hundreds of shows and festivals
Rhythm guitar/vocals: Joe Dirt
Lead Guitar: Michael Jackson
Bass: John Cena
Drums: Jesus Christ himself
Man that must have been a hell of a time.
Yep
lead guitar more like bob marley,....
John Cena HAHAHAGAHA
bro kirk is more like jonathan davis😭😭
Idk wah was going on with Kirks hair.😂🎸
But it does sound amazing. Dammit Jim speak up😂
watched this at my grandpas house. He had a zenith box with free pay per view..
I was in 8th grade..
Recorded cypress hill, Primus, green day and Metallica on VCR.. And still have the tapes today...
They truly kicked ass at Woodstock 94.
Lars at his best and probably also the best performance of One.
Seattle 89 and Mexico live shit , listen the solo and the drums and you will see...
S J Powell Lars was already shit in drums around late 1994
@Scary Guy I think really the bad drums started after st anger, so around 2003
@@neddheadbedshedboom7805 drumming on st anger are pure shit as well
Seattle 89 was the best
James Hetfield is a god.. he’s a lion, a trucker named Ricky and your badass uncle that your parents have never talked about, all at the same time!
True
finally i could hear some bass in this song!
Yep i was 24 when Metallica came on stage i was wearing only my boxer and shoes. Full of mud, suddenly my feet's did not have contact with the ground for 5 mn, cut in a wave of ppl i desperately try to grip someone head and shoulder to rise above the crowd finely i start to fly above the 600k fans. The sound is 3x louder than any other bands and twice as crisp...
One of the all time best songs
Best Metal Band playing "One" of their Best songs!!
Pantera its the best
THE best song. Ever.
Damn the guitar sounds so good at the beginning😍
I love the bass in the version
Metallica Career
start to Injustice: Just wants to play good music someone will like.
Black Album: Sweet Taste of International Fame on the Pop Charts. Still making music good music.
1996-2006: Want to appease the pop chart gods.
2007-now: Just wants to make music they like and could care less.
Their career is just like a book trilogy.
St. Anger was made to appease the pop charts?
@@ExtremeAndy Yeah, it's got a pop-punk/thrash/nu-metal sound that was just stripped down of melody to not sound like the other popular metal bands at the time. They lyrics are catchy and poetic. The title song was shot in a prison for appeal at the rise of police shows and new-age prison reform. It is a transition point and semi-experimental, only with its stripped down sound, but it still leans toward a productional presentation that is polished unlike their next 5 albums. St. Anger was the last Metallica song to be on the pop charts as well. If you added more harmony into it and alternate screaming vocals, it wouldn't sound much different than other metal bands peaking on the charts during 2003-2004. Unlike their 1996 album that attempted imitate popular alternative music, the did the nu-popular metal thing in their own way. Yeah, I stand by whatever was written because I think this is the last album that they still cared about keeping a larger fan base before they began focusing on their families.
Couldn’t care less* how do people still say “could care less” 😂😂
@@ionehkontehdiabo7627 Because they have the fanbase in the pocket and they don't care what critics think. They couldn't care less about negative reviews or what old or new fan think.
Edit: Because now they just write the music they want to make.
@@Nga_Babaye exactly… I was correcting your statement of “could care less”. That implies they care a little bit and COULD care a little bit less. If you were to say “couldn’t car less”, which you didn’t originally, that would mean they don’t care at all. I was being a grammar nazi, I wasn’t goin at the point you were trying to make, sorry lol
was tripping my face off three rows off the stage during this set, jesus christ was it a good time!!
I was there for this!!!!! First time I had seen them without Cliff Burton!!!! Great show for the most part
most part? what was the other part?
@@zylox_lacks_IQ My bad! It was an awesome show. I have seen them with Jason as well. It is just a different feel. Cliff was part of Metallica. Jason was a member of Metallica! Difference. Plus it sucked dealing with the muddy conditions at Woodstock 94!
They still killin it in 2019 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
last year of the old Metallica..james looks like a dragon slayer
yea but his vocal grit was pretty much gone by 94
I would say 2000 was the last year of the old metallica
I believe last year of old metallica was 99
good old metallica died 1990
Imo 1995 was the last year of old Metallica. 1996 was when Load came out.
best kirk solo ever heard
NAH BRO, CHECK OUT THE OUTRO SOLO OF FADE TO BLACK IN THE 2006 ROCK AM RING SHOW, THATS HIS BEST SOLO, HE WENT NUTS AND PLAYED IT DIFFERENTLY THEN MOST TIMES
Hah, his best solo is from St. Anger
Best solo is one in Seattle 89 and fade to black in cunning stunts
Rick Jackson haha :-D
His solos are all mind blowing. I think Jimi Hendrix would have been a huge fan of Kirk, and James.
najlepszy koncert metallica
Esto es Metallica 🤘
5:38 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH
Bob Marley on lead guitar
Jacob Rocha bruh 😂😂😂
Look at Jason at 4:53
machine gun arm !!
Fkn love thiis
who dislikes this? they sat there and searched this (it's kinda random too) and disliked it? come on man...
metallica is the best
Kirk actually having a great solo is the most shocking part of this.
Must've missed your performances with the biggest band in the world. People like u r hilarious
I don't usually make a big deal about # of views but how is it this video has been on here for over 5 years and doesn't even have 30k views yet? Sure there are other versions on here but I think there is one of the more notable "ones". So seriously what fa duck?
ikr..and i was at that concert..along with 350,000+ people..they were freakin awesome..one of the best performances of the weekend!! whew!!
Make it over 10 years and not even at 100k lmao
BAD ASS!!!!!! \,,/ \,,/
They always had impressive pyro
What happened to his vocals? 😭
Must've blown out his voice before and/or worn out his vocal chords is my guess.
That would explain why his voice sounds thin. That "growl" he had is very tough on the vocal chords.
It was inevitable. To his credit he has adapted well with the help of lowering the key also.
they played around 350 concerts between august 91 to august 94. this explains james' voice in this concert. (and why they lowered to Eb)
@@mrdfk9410 that explains it
@@j.r.1903 i figured
I know. I was wondering that too. I’m just wondering why I didn’t hear his voice at the beginning of the lyrics and “Now the world is gone”
why ulrich start to change the drum kit???? 🤔🤔🤔
He visited Alice In Chains drummer's basement and played on his drums. He liked the idea of having more space and hihat closer so he removed two of his toms.
Funny! I think he was pissed that the sound was out for the second time on his Mic and flipping off the sound guys. The sound was dead for the first few words of the first verse of the song too.
He always flips at this part.watch his previous concerts.
I don't love Metallica like so many of the people are saying on here. However I do like Metallica very much and would be friends with Metallica if they were interested.
Jason was the first who cut his hair of. Back then I found it awesome. Then...the rest of the band followed. That maybe says something...
bad ass 4:00
that hair makes kirk look like Melvin from nofx
Buff James
This was the last of the Metallica we loved. Standard tuning Metallica. Now we have E flat Metallica. Goodbye 🥺
Metallica is still decent at least today
Lol Jason looks like John Cena and they're playing a song from and justice for all.
This is not from Woodstock 94. I was there and they didn't look like that
Dont they do more than one show?
marc decrosta This is woodstock 1994! You must have bin to drunk then.
RIGHT!
i was there too...was an epic night of music
Micheal Jackson on lead guitar
5:11, 80s vocals.
LMAO Papa Hets voice is done ffs. No wonder they went E Flat.
Ah well, nothing lasts forever.
Lars rules!!
noooo noooo nooooooooooooooo
Kirk looks good
The sound was so fucking loud.
Corona times
Kirk nach seinem Einstieg bei Milli Vanilli 😂
I miss Metallicas old raw Live sound, it sounds much more digital and generic now.
Somebody turn down Jason’s bass
lars had 3 fucking chinas holy shit
Nope, two.
nope theres three, one as the "ride" and two in the up right
Epic fail at 1:36
James Hetfield. What that man plays on guitar as he is singing during the mellow parts? Intricatley picking certain strings at an almost off beat tempo but on purpose. He not stumming like other singers that play guitar would. To me strumming is weak and not melodic.
Jason is much better than rob
No!
@@jhamilton1007 Yes!
@@jhamilton1007 I like Rob better
