Good god. As someone who works in tech and follow the vc world, this guy is giving me whiplash. Yeah, like everyone here is saying, he's a fraudster, not some unlucky founder who was unjustly targetted. I'm still listening just cause I love Andy and I'm sure some of the things he sharing about his experience with the Doj are insightful. But yeah. Not one ounce of remorse and pure deflection.

I can see how investors could ruin a company. We've said no to venture capital for the exact reasons mentioned here. The investors we talked to wanted to do the exact same thing to Edison Motors.
    - The investors we talked to wanted to replace our guys with their own.
    - The wanted to load us up with a bunch of corporate executives who had no experience in anything about trucks that would control the company
    - They wanted us to make outlandish promises that we know we couldn't deliver.
It was all about making a quick buck to them.
These kind of investors and advisors ruin businesses
I promise we will not go down this road, I'd rather stay broke living in my parents basement than allowing this exact same thing to happen to Edison

I don’t understand why they’re giving this guy a platform. He scammed thousands of hard-working Americans out of their hard earned money and was convicted of doing so. This guy is a complete bullshit artist, and I truly believe he would do it all over again, if he knew he wouldn’t get caught. With all the fake videos of tractor trailers “driving” down the highway and promoting a cool looking concept truck just at the right time to pump up the stock knowing that idea would never materialize is just unforgivable in my book. This is a bad look for Andy having this guy on pleading his innocence. It was plain as day he and his company knew what they were doing and him being the CEO had to pay the consequences. It’s so cringe watching this guy trying to dupe one of our true American heroes. Do better Andy

Andy, I feel like there is room for improvement on your part, no offense, there always is. Firstly, you claim to have done research but you did not ask critical questions, suggesting you did not do enough research. This is a man's life. Critical questions are not necessary asked to shoot someone down, they can also benefit the person being interviewed as they are then able to address the questions lingering in everyones mind. He is convicted of serious allegations and claim innocence but he comes off as just deflecting blame for everything (which can look suspicious to someone who does not know the facts, which is most of us) and that could have looked more nuanced if you had asked tough questions.
Secondly, the interview is incredibly long. That is good if you are very interested in the subject. I have followed Nikola a bit for 4 years and I am still finding it hard to justify watching all of it. It is such a shame. For Trevor, it is about his whole life and his future, so clearly very important for him. But for other people, they might find it more important to do the dishes and watch series. I think it would have helped immensely if you did a separate 10 minute video with only the highlights. Then people would not watch all of it, no. But no way they are going to watch all of it anyway so then at least they get to see the highlights.

How many times did he mention he isn’t Harvard or Yale educated? This is the same guy who can out Elon - Elon, and if you put him in a room with 50 people with phd’s he would be smarter than them.

@@ClearedHotPodcast Man, I’m sorry, I’m not going to be sarcastic with you in the comments anymore; I’m clearly not good at it. I was just saying that because “It makes me never want to be involved with a publicly traded company” was one of the first statements made at the beginning of this one. I tried to clarify that I was joking and give BRCC some love but I guess that flopped, too. 🤣
