I found a rare USN deck jacket in good shape at a local antique store for $50. Found a Schlueter helmet with original paint at a different store for $100. Pawn shops and antique stores have been one of my best ways to find old militaria for inexpensive.
Super cool video JonBoy. This was a great idea. I really enjoy hearing collection stories about how and where items were found. I know for me, part of the fun of collecting is the hunt. Those hunts can involve some fun and interesting stories. Thanks for sharing your collection and stories with us. Keep up the good work JonBoy and God bless. 🇺🇸🪖🇺🇸🪖🇺🇸🪖
Always great to hear some of your stories, Jonboy. Collecting here in Mexico, you can imagine that I have a few of my own. Keep up the great work. Always cheering on your uploads and insightful content.
What’s gotta be the craziest item I got is an Iraqi M80 helmet that came off eBay. The helmet has dried bio matter which I asked the seller about. He stated that he was gifted it from his friend (Both OIF veteran) who killed original owner. The OIF veteran who killed the Iraqi apparently felt extremely guilty and didn’t want the helmet anymore.
First, the .50 cals. the red tip is a tracer round and the blue tips are incendiary rounds. the notebook has some great history in it for sure. the 30.40 Krag is a nice rifle for sure. if you ever watch hogans heroes schultz carries a 30.40 Krag not a Mauser. lol hollywood snafu big time but its a fact!! i watch the show all the time on metv and he carries it in every episode. as for the no 5, ive never seen one marked like that and ive sold probably 100 no 1 mk 3s and no 4s. never seen one marked like that with a V. interesting video. thanks for sharing. Larry
Thing about that with Schultz's Krag might be a Snafu but Krag rifles were used by the Germans during WWII mostly by the home guard so in fact historically accurate.
@@JonBoyMilitaria i guess to the producers it wasnt a issue. di you know werner kempler klink was in the american army during ww2. fact! and banner shultz was from the ukraine not german,
Scary stories bud great video
Thank you

I have seen Hogan's Heroes and I definitely have noticed the Krag rifle. Lol. Hard to believe that type of mess up wouldn't be noticed and corrected.
