I 💯 agree about talking about the weather. I like when you mention it. It is more important than people think. It dictates our daily activities, our wardrobe and our moods. It's also interesting to hear what is going on in different parts of the world.
I save my tiny scraps and use them as stuffing for various projects. For example, I crocheted a set of small soft balls for my kiddos and used yarn scraps to stuff them instead of polyfill. They do come in handy!
Marlene, your colorwork sweater is gorgeous and definitely plenty of contrast. It looks beautiful. Oh my, so many projects and they are all beautiful. The blankets are incredible. Everything. Beautiful work, plain and simple. Love seeing all your projects.
Vielen Dank!🌻
Love when you talk about the weather , it grounds the episode and makes it so much more atmospheric 😄 and I love your finished Barbara shawl, it’s so so pretty 😍
I love weather updates. It makes me feel so much more connected to the person talking. I think the color gray you are using looks splendid on you. That will be a beautiful FO. And I love the colors you chose for your first colorwork sweater. Great podcast. Thank you.
Thank you for all those compliments, dear Cheryl 😊 it’s great to hear that my little weather reports are welcome and that you enjoy my color choices too! Happy knitting and thanks for being here x
Hi Marlene. Just watched the episode 🥰 while knitting on a northland sweater for my son in the exact same colour and yarn as you did. But knitting it for the second time as I had to unravel a complete beautiful sweater 😢 since it was to big in the fit when he finally tried it on. I gave it to him for Christmas and he was so excited, so now I am starting over again 🫣🥹 thanks for all the inspiration. Great plans you have 😊 have a nice week ❤ LG Mette
Hi Marlene, thank you for another wonderful podcast. You have so many beautiful things you are knitting on! I like the way you have organized the way you knit your wips and scrappy projects. I do best when I knit that way, but often fall backwards, get overwhelmed, and never finish things. You have been an inspiration to get back on track. Thank you ❤❤
You look so good in that green sweater!!!!! And I love how the colorwork sweater looks! It makes me want to knit a colorwork sweater so bad😂 I can't wait to see the progress of your cable sweater (somewhere in the future), I'm just finishing a main wip (a cardigan) and after that I'll be starting my first big cable knit.
Hi Marlene! I just discovered your channel recently and this is the first podcast I'm watching, I really like it! Your colourwork sweater is absolutely wonderful and I can't believe it's your first colourwork project, it's stunning😍 Learning how to do colourwork is one of mine 2024 knitting goals and you're giving me the confidence to try it for myself too🤗
Your handspun is gorgeous and you are doing great. I have a friend learning all this too and there is a lot of work to it. You are doing great and will have a very special cowl.
I am knitting! You'd look good in (almost) any color. I say almost because maybe not something fluorescent and that's probably because I'm not crazy about fluorescent anything. Your colorwork sweater is gorgeous. And I've been wondering about Purl SoHo's Good Wool, so thanks for talking a little about it.
First off, I love the grey you chose for your storm sweater! I'm guilty of being a serial grey knitter. Secondly, I had similar plans to make an all-over cabled sweater holding together suri lace and a merino. I was super excited about it, but when I made my swatch, the suri was too fuzzy and really hid the cabling definition. I ended up getting some KFO soft silk mohair to hold with the merino instead and was much happier with the appearance of the cables. I held the suri double to make a short-sleeved cumulus blouse that I absolutely adore.
I just started knitting my lauder vest test knit and the suri held with a sport weight looks great and shows off the cables fine still! :) but I could see some cables not standing out enough in some cases with the fluffyness of the suri! I’m also planning on making an alpaca cumulus blouse soon ☺️ it’s going to be so nice and soft!
I’m currently finishing up the first sleeve of my Harlow Sweater V-Neck, so hearing you rave about yours makes me even more excited for the finished object! 😍
Love your colour work sweater! Do you have plans for any other colour work knit this year? I’m currently knitting on my Kerr Sweater, which is also my first colour work sweater 😊
Looove your video 😻 I want to knit a cumulus blouse as well somewhere in spring and I have the yarn. I'd be really happy to join your mini-KAL for it 🥹
I ❤ your glasses, did you buy them on line? I do need to get some more, and❤ yours, let me know if you have time. ThanksStorm sweater looks good and stormy!⛈️
Your handspun is gorgeous! I have the Cumulus O-neck and the Dad's sweater on my list so would definitely be interested in a knit along 🙂 Also looking at my Storm sweater yarn in medium-dark grey and wondering if I maybe rather want it in light grey??
Im going to share ore about our little discord channel for the knit along soon and I’m happy to hear you’re think about joining!🧶I have actually selected a light grey for the dad’s sweater so that’s why I’m going with a little darker grey for the Storm, but the Storm would look gorgeous in a light grey :)
Do you dare to wetblock your sweet shop blanket with all the handdyed yarns in it? I am so scared that my colors will bleed into the white parts of the blanket😩 How do you deal with this?🥰
Hey Malva, fortunately I’ve never had any problem with color bleeding yet 🤞🏼 ways in which I will try and prevent it are using cold water and color catcher when washing for the first time and I also might just steam block it whenever I finish it and wait with doing a real wash a bit 🤭
So bekommt man an farblosen Tagen gut Farbe .

Oh that’s such a great way to think about it, thank you for sharing Jennifer ☺️
That's so funny, the weather feels pretty relevant when you're a knitter lol. Great podcast Marlene!
right? 😄 thank you lizzy! 🧡
Love the gray color that you picked for the storm sweater! Great projects!
The Cumulus blouse is on top of my spring knitting plans list 🧡 just have to decide on a colour 😅
I save my tiny scraps and use them as stuffing for various projects. For example, I crocheted a set of small soft balls for my kiddos and used yarn scraps to stuff them instead of polyfill. They do come in handy!
I have used scraps to stuff small items too!
another great idea to use our scraps! thanks for sharing ☺️

I love your structured knitting time. It really does help get old wip’s completed and enjoy knitting more when there are a lot of projects on the go.
Loved seeing all your WIPs and so many lovely plans for this year ❤ also sorry for the randomness but your hair is such a beautiful colour!
Oh thank you! ☺️
I really like the contrast and combination of gray and the chestnut color. Kind of unusual, pretty.
Your handspun DRK cowl is going to be amazing! I can’t wait to see it all knit up! ❤
Aww thanks, me too! ☺️

I like your project choices, your energy is great and I admire you had the courage to choose knitting over academia!
