Thanks so much for posting these shows. I'm in a wheelchair so I can't always get out of the house. These shows help me pas the time. I love Dragnet radio and tv
Growing up this was one of two episodes of the show I had on a CD, this entire story is burned into my memory, I’ve listened two most of the episodes on replay podcasts...this is my favorite episode...thank you for putting this series on YT
"There's two doors, front and back. Which one you going in?" -- Ben. "Front" -- Friday. "I'll be around back." -- Ben. I really love Ben as Joe Friday's partner. They were really there for each other. Real men.
@@brwnlady Absolutely! Ben Romero was the very best partner that Joe ever had. Ben was the only person who was even with Joe and not in a joke-sort-of role.
@@nellwackwitz The funny thing is, I always thought Frank Smith was always his partner. When I started listening to these radio shows, I thought Ben was a temporary character. And at first I didn't care for him. He grew on me big time. I was totally unprepared for the episode announcing his death. I absolutely gasped.
Wait a minute, am I to believe that Dorothy Tyler never visited her husband while he was in prison? 🤥 Or did she meant she was not able to have conjugal visits with him? 🤔 I’m thinking it was the later visit.

Written by James Moser. Later adapted for television as "The Big Escape" {September 23, 1954}.

Yep. Same reaction to those lines. Ben was the only partner I liked. Show wasn't the same after he died.

The trial in this episode said it was held in the city and county of Marin, California instead the usual Los Angeles.
If memory serves me the sentence for escape is an automatic seven years , no early parole..Not a smart move Max 😳
Wouldn’t you have to know when the actual crime occurred to know what the penalty would have been!
Lee Takamiya you are right.. I was thinking about 1970 ? It’s still a big crime though😎
the good old days, before smoking was bad for you
Do you think anyone on the show cared if products were good or bad? The ads were legal and they paid money. End of story.
@@leetakamiya2162 That's a pretty dark view of people you never knew or never met.
Would love to see these cops work Stockton in this generation 😂
Wonderful!
The wife should have gotten charged with aiding and abetting
She was so irritating !
Good entertainment. Nowadays the Tylers would be 'victims' of something and be celebrated on talk shows.
Jack Webb is A Savage!!!
Anyone know who played Max Tyler in this episode? His voice sounds familiar.
Any chance of posting versions with the ads edited out? Who really wants to hear the sales figures of a defunct poison peddler?

Please excuse my bad eyes
I have actually smoked Datimas . No, they were bot that good.
So you’re saying “It’s WIIIISE to NOT smoke extra mild Fatima’s”?
First the person takes the drink then the drink takes the person.
Wasn’t the wife prosecuted too?
I wouldn't trust him with dirty laundry. haha
