Pot Noodle advert from 1992.
Apparently this version was banned because it gave people seizures. Only found that out recently - don't actually remember that happening.
Love the general naffness of the whole thing.

I'd forgotten all about this add. If I'm not mistaken it led to the re-release of Ace of Spades... Though it was banned because of its effects on some people with Photo Sensitive Epilepsy.
Shortly after this, we began seeing warnings like this on British TV. 'Warning, this program contains flashing images and may be unsuitable for people with Photo Sensitive Epilepsy.' Great add all the same....

These 90s pot noodle adverts with Phil Hartman used to scare me as a kid lol!!
There were 2 versions- the really dangerous one was aired for only 1 or 2 weeks before it was pulled and replaced with a slightly slower version. Not sure which this is, looks pretty, er, intense.
When this ad came out I loved that line 'The devil don't scubadive!' Lol!

This used to come on at three in the morning when we were all off our nuts on acid. Pretty sure a combination of this and the Jesus Christ Pose video did lasting psychological damage to some of us. The nineties were weird.

It's Stakker - "Eurotechno" from 1989. Same Stakker that did Humanoid, aka Future Sound Of London, AST, Cube, etc.

this advert wasnt banned it aired for 3 weeks wich was a standard run on comercial tv i have this advert at least a hundred times on old vhs tapes

Not at the time, but watching it just now, yes! I guess I must have first discovered that song after these ads came out. Phil Hartman really was a treasure. Love the guy.

Wow I don't even have epilepsy and that ad made my head hurt. Good ad but way too fast flashing, would they have an ad of screeching White noise no don't think so.

Yeah, that'd break the Harding test - rapid flashes within a second (3+ trigger it) or flashing red imagery causes epileptic fits.

no it was act banned, I remember going to a science museum and they were showing that this advert caused a new safety checking of adverts with flashing images, they were demonstrating it...
it failed after 3 secs of the flashing images!

I think the only PN ad campaign that was actually banned was the 'slag of all snacks'.
This one was probably phased out due to the 'wicked' rock music used within.

I don’t think it was banned outright but there was news reports on it which led the itc to change the rules on photosensitive content a updated version of the ad aired in 1994 with the scenes from stakkers eurotechno slowed and recoloured to reduce the possibility of inducing a seizure to the point where you could think why did they bother making the first ad?

Rather watch this sort of advert than the current woke crap that passes for adverts now. Everything is so safe and boring. This stuff is pure playstation one era.
