and sometimes you just get the urge to leroy jenkins the hell out of it when your teammates have been debating what the best strategy to open a door should be for over an hour.
I recommend you find a good group of people primarily that you enjoy to game with. Wile some people say that DnD is not what it used to be or that other Roll playing system are better, which I sort of agree on, in the end it more about finding the right people and having a fun time. So I wish you luck with trying out DnD or any other roleplaying game out there.
OR: you're ingame and the rogue is about to sneak up on the hobgoblins when you remind Mr. Rogue about how he dropped the juice that one time. Then everyone spends the next hour needling him about it and he spends the next hour hitting you with his shoe. NEVER happened. My juice always stays right where I tell it. You have to be firm with juice or it'll leave a puddle on the kitchen linoleum.
Yeah, oft times D&D is like reverse dog years. For every real 7 hours playing the game, one hour passes in-game. Sometimes it's boring - especially if you're not a critical character in the story at that point - but, sometimes the time just flies by because you're so engrossed in the story.
DnD is kind of like make believe, for grown-ups. There are a lot more rules, and a lot more strategy involved, but at the end of the day, you're not very good unless you've got a good imagination and are willing to pretend.
D and D isn't what it use to be. Go forth on a quest to seek old gamers who play the ancient version of the game. Failing that Dungeon Crawl Classics will do nicely.
So much yes.
I wonder how many people greets him with "What's up Doc?" XD
I hear you... currently playing a dwarven cleric/tank.. will be fun to watch how long he lasts.

Why do the subtitles have Wil Wheaton's name misspelled?
I don't D and D yet. But I Magic and Gather. I hope someday I have a job that makes me as happy as yours makes you!
