Alpha Preview - Primare i35 with DM36 DAC Board

- We have the Primare I35 with the new DAC board. Now, this is not a full review, but we really wanted to tell you our vision on this all-in-one integrated amplifier. How is the Primare Lagom philosophy applicable to this amplifier?
The first moment I heard i25 I was blown away. The clarity, dynamics, speed and micro nuances are excellent. I already had an excellent CD/DAC player so I ended up with Primare i25 without DAC and streamer. I couldn't really tell the difference between i25 and i35. The Primare CD35 Prisma is on my bucket list.
My favourite for an all-in-one device would be the NAD33, price wise it will be equal to this Primare unit here in Australia. Primare is quit expensive around here.

Been a Primare fan and user for many years now and think their kit is excellent, however not long after buying my pre35 Prisma, Primare announced the DM36 to replace the DM35 and now Primare expect me to pay another £800+ for an upgrade on top of £4k I've just spent on the pre35 Prisma. Well I'm sorry but I think Primare are extracting the urine out of their customers. Be nice if they could offer their existing customers a part exchange deal to soften the blow but then i suppose they would be stuck with a DM35 that no one wants.
Yeah, that's a good idea to offer a trade-in for the DAC board at a reduced cost. They also need to up the warranty to at least 5 years for the price they are charging.
I Like Primare a lot. I own a 35.8 by my self. It's an outstanding product for the price. I would say a litle different sound wise but in one league with NAD M Series. I like the Primare sound more...
A least even cheaper in Germany than NAD.
The upgradable DAC is a really good idea I have a pathos Inpol heritage with there hi DAC 2 , But this same Dac board is in the lowest. Priced amps , it doesn’t make sense to me . I love the convenience of an inbuilt DAC but there just not up to scratch .
Bedankt mannen voor dit eerste inzicht in het nieuwe dacboard DM36. Ik ben heel benieuwd naar het klank verschil met de oude 35. Zelf heb ik een full option i25 die me erg goed bevalt, maar upgraden kriebelt wel nu ik weet dat het nieuwe dacboard Sabre gebaseerd is.
Mijn spaarpotje is aan het wachten op conformatie 😊.
Is het de moeite om te upgraden naar DM36?
Ik hou me aanbevolen op jullie bekende deskundige oordeel...

Check out the Lyngdorf TDAI 3400 if you want an all in one system with “lagom” that also has room correction built in without all the flash you mention. You can also add an HDMI module and/ or analog module with a phono preamp for vinyl listening.
Lagom = Just right. ( Goldilock zone )

I appreciate the look of the not minimalistic rather retro but still beautiful receiver the Yamaha r-n2000a . I would appreciate a sound comparison, for me it’s in the first line about sound (Klang) what your getting for your hard earned cash.
So Hegel 190 or Yamaha or Primare , Arcam, rega, would be quite intresting
Better Atoll class ab primare class d….similar products……the Atoll in 400 se by far the better one.. pricewise not so far apart and also minimalistic and sound wise………../
Atoll amps are very very nice quality and I believe are very detailed too, I agree
