And it's not like Samsung was hiding that they were doing this AI texture effect anyways - they were very open about it. Every time they talked about the camera in their presentations - they mentioned multiple times how they are using computational photography and AI features, and processing the photos with the neural engine in the chip, etc. They also have a entire blog post detailing exactly how the moon photos work

Instead what they did was that they got a picture of the moon but made it extremely blurry, then went a number of meters away, zoomed all the way in and wouldn’t you know it there’s your crystal clear image of the moon. Quite interesting since Samsung claimed that it’s not a filter or just a texture slapped on there…

Yes you can mess with AI and make it think other things are moon and get it to put it's high res moon photo on a white circle, but usually it can tell the difference between the moon and a white circle.

That's likely an S20 or s20fe. The S20 and fe have 30x zoom. I had an s20fe and took a picture of the moon and it looked almost exactly like that.

open your gallery
click on that moon pic and hit edit
then you will see a LIGHT BALANCE option.

It just adds missing detail with AI not putting a whole picture. Personally I’m not a fan of it because iPhones can do this just in the video mode. I think there could be a workaround without ai
